Pat Casey(1993-2023)
Pat Casey was one of the coolest extreme athletes.
Casey began to play sports very early - already at the age of two he was confident in the saddle. But he liked the "iron horse" more. Pat has been riding BMX since he was six years old and quickly became successful in his new hobby. Casey was able to become a professional at the age of 14, he bought his first house when he was only 18. And only with money from cycling. He rose to prominence in 2012 when he won his first medal at the X-Games in 2012. Pat finished third at the BMX Freestyle Park, and the following year he was second at the BMX Air race in Brazil. In 2021, Casey finally became the X-Games champion. In total, he had three medals from these prestigious competitions.
Casey was racing on the ramp at Slayground Motocross Park in Ramona, California when he lost control of the bike and fell out of it. After the fall, he still had a chance to survive, but by a tragic accident, the motorcycle flying behind him fell right on him.
Pat Casey will forever be remembered as a true fan of his craft, in love with cycling and other extreme sports, and that, looking at him, many young guys became interested in BMX.
