Desphil Osawaru is an award winning Director for her short film titled "Mental". She is also a writer and producer born in New York and raised in Nigeria. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Accounting and found out her niche is to become a filmmaker so she moved to Orlando. She recently earned her Master's degree in Film Production at Full Sail University. She joined "SPARK" a non profit organization for commercial clients and marketing departments. Desphil recently started freelancing with her company "Benzaphil Productions". She began directing and producing music videos for different artists using her creativity and knowledge through short films to create a story visually behind these videos.
Desphil is passionate about visual storytelling that is how she decided to begin her Masters in Film Production. She started working on student's film and began to freelance as Director, Producer and Writer. In 2016, Desphil worked on twenty-six film sets from which she has directed, produced and written four short films. Her directing skills made her an award winning director for her movie "Split" which also became the semi-finalist in Los-Angeles Cine Fest and Hollywood Screening Film Festival. Desphil worked on her thesis film titled "Rubbish" as the 1st Assistant Camera Operator with a Sony FS5, a Sony FS65 and with a crew of sixty people. Desphil says she's fascinated with building different cameras, putting pieces together to create a story.
