After airing a pilot and one-off holiday special in 2022, Magnolia Network is releasing a full season of Joanna Gaines’ Silos Baking Competition starting in May.
The first season premieres with back-to-back episodes, May 28, on Magnolia Network, Discovery+ and, most notably, the rebranded Max streaming service, which will have just launched a few days earlier on May 23. Magnolia content has already been part of existing streamer HBO Max, but studio brass David Zaslav and Casey Bloys recently made Chip and Joanna Gaines’ inclusion on the new platform a focal point — using April’s Max announcement day to hype the ratings for Fixer Upper: The Castle and formally set Magnolia series Fixer Upper: The Hotel for the fall.

“Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” may not have as much interpersonal melodrama as Netflix competitor “Selling Sunset,” but the Bravo series about high-priced real estate and the high-energy personalities who sell it is not lacking for theatrics.
Josh Altman, one of the five “Million Dollar Listing L.A.” stars, told TheWrap that his show’s success actually regenerates its own drama. This cyclical effect is somewhat unique to Altman’s industry, and it probably helps explain how this “Million Dollar Listing” installment is entering its 12th season.
In Episode 1201, Altman and rival Josh Flagg pair up to sell an insane La Jolla home nicknamed “The Razor,” one that is said to have inspired Tony Stark’s resident in the “Ironman” movies and comes with a price tag of $30 million. Altman and Flagg’s cooperation here is unusual. They’re usually battling each other — as well as co-stars Tracy Tutor, James...

“Bargain Mansions” host Tamara Day didn’t “expect to cry” on her episode of Hgtv’s latest coronavirus-era show “Design at Your Door,” but she did — and more than once. You might too.
For Night 1 of the new series — a season she guest stars on twice — Day was tasked with conceptualizing, designing, shopping for, and guiding a family via webcam in redoing their guest room. Due to Hgtv’s partnership on the program, the Kansas City native who is used to renovating mansions had to buy all the supplies on Walmart.com.
Day told TheWrap she “was really pleasantly surprised” by the “variety” of items on the inexpensive big box store’s website: “It took me longer than it should have because I got sucked into it,” she said of the furniture and decor decisions.

Walmart has figured out a way to get its goods in front of shoppers – even if the effects of the coronavirus pandemic are keeping them from visiting its stores.
As part of an advertising agreement struck with Discovery, the large retailer will have products and ad messages woven into and around a new Hgtv series that has homeowners record themselves as they make over a room with the help of designers stationed remotely. The “self shot” series, “Design At Your Door,” debuts Thursday at 9 p.m. eastern.
Discovery has launched several so-called “quarantine” concepts featuring Guy Fieri or Amy Schumer with quick-turnaround deadlines to help fill its programming grid as the pandemic has forced normal production to cease. But the fast pivot has spurred the company’s ad-sales teams to work even faster to line up Madison Avenue support.
