Juan Vicente Chuliá is a director, writer and producer working seamlessly both with documentaries as well as fiction formats.
Before his first foray into film with the full length documentary Temperado (Tempered, 2016), he has been a cultural manager and designer. Born in Valencia, he now resides in Madrid, Spain.
His second documentary, El Proceso (The process, 2017) explores the creative process in contemporary music.
His third documentary, Danzantes (Dancers, 2019), is a journey through the world of dance. Filmed in 8 countries, it displays several dance styles, from classical ballet, to Flamenco, to urban dance. It won 12 international prizes and was selected in more than 30 festivals across the globe.
His fourth feature length film is Halffter: 90 compases (Halffter: 90 beats, 2021), an in-depth study of the composer Cristobal Halffter, premiering in the 66 Seminci Film Festival (Valladolid, Spain).
In the same Festival, Chuliá also premieres his short fiction film Frugal (2021), awarded with the Seminci Factory prize for best script.
