The BBC, Moonage Pictures and Nicolas Winding Refn have begun production on a second season of “The Famous Five.” The 2 x 90′ instalment, created for television and executive produced by Refn and Matthew Read of Moonage, follows the success of the first series, which saw its premiere become Cbbc’s top-rated episode in 2023. The Mañana Será Bonito era will last forever. On Tuesday night, Karol G wrapped her yearlong, 62-show tour with four sold-out shows at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, with its last show streaming live on YouTube.
“If there’s something beautiful this journey left me was learning to love myself, to value myself above what others think of me, because God made me this way for a reason. This tour helped me find my purpose, and it’s to help people to feel fully themselves,” Karol said onstage before playing “Ocean” from her second album.

Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan & Laapataa Ladies Still(Photo Credit –Facebook)
On May 4, Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and Jyothika’s Shaitaan movie was released on Netflix. The movie was released in theatres on March 8 and received mixed reviews. Hence, Ajay’s film is in the second spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Films (Non-English) list.
Shaitaan is a remake of the Gujarati movie Vash. From May 6 to May 12, the Ajay Devgn-starrer received 6.6 million views. The movie that’s on the number one spot is The Courier. It’s a Spanish film that stars Aron Piper, Maria Pedraza, and Luis Tosar.

Two of Spain's most popular Netflix originals share more than just a country of origin. Money Heist, the tense thriller that just concluded its fifth and final season, and Elite, the soapy teenage murder mystery headed into its own fifth season, have three major cast members in common. Jaime Lorente, Miguel Herrán and María Pedraza all headlined the first season of Elite as students (and siblings of students) at a rich Madrid private school, but the TV teens actually started their Netflix journeys on Money Heist as three people caught up in a massive bank robbery — quite the departure from their school uniforms and teen sex scandals. In case you need a refresher on each of the characters these actors have played in both Spanish-language hits, we have the full lowdown ahead — plus one more place where you can catch Pedraza on Netflix.

Nothing is simple in Toy Boy, a show about a male stripper wrongly convicted of murder who, along with the help of a young lawyer, attempts to find the real culprit. The problem? There are actually multiple crimes — and multiple murderers — in the first season alone.
As the series unfolds, we discover that twentysomething “toy boy” Hugo Beltrán (Jesús Mosquera) is found on his houseboat with the charred body of Philip Norman (Virgil Mathet), the husband of Hugo’s lover, Macarena Medina (Cristina Castaño). Despite having no memory of the night, Hugo is convicted of murder and imprisoned for seven years, until a young lawyer at a high-powered firm, Triana Marín (María Pedraza), successfully petitions for a new trial and gets him out of prison.
The pair uncovers a conspiracy that involves crooked cops, billionaire business rivals, the Irish mafia, an orgy and an innocent teenager. And the question...

There is gunplay aplenty in this Spanish thriller about a young renegade who can create illusions with his mind – with some neat touches amid the mayhem
Directed by Daniel Benmayor, this Spanish mashup of Inception, Scanners, The Fury and The Matrix follows 18-year-old Ian (Carlos Scholz), whose parents were Perceivers: a species of cold war spy chemically engineered to be able to project illusions with their minds. Most were killed off in a cull known as the Disinfection, which makes Ian, who has inherited his parents’ powers, especially valuable. Strolling into a bank brandishing a scrap of paper, he can wordlessly persuade the teller that it is a cheque ready to be cashed. Pointing his finger, he makes an adversary fall to the ground from a nonexistent bullet wound.
No wonder sinister forces are out to exploit the lad. Swooping to his rescue is Adriana (Lela Loren), an operative from...

Yanet, lateish twenties, opens her eyes, looks in the mirror, takes in air, straightens two braids of hair, hold her head in her hands, purses her lips, is called for her stage test.
She begins to sing. “People say I have to change, but I don’t care at all. I feel so free I could sing on the high-velocity train.”
The trouble is her memorised rap has become a screech and, rather than don’t give a damn, she’s hanging on every word which will be delivered by a judge sitting in the theater, who asks her to stop.

"You don't have as much control as you think you have!" Amazon's Prime Video has revealed the official trailer for a Spanish mystery fantasy action thriller titled Awareness, a film by Spanish filmmaker Daniel Benmayor. This premiered in Spain earlier this year, and will be available for streaming worldwide in October. A teenager lives with his father on the outskirts of modern society and runs small scams with his ability to generate visual illusions upon unsuspecting victims. Things get complicated when his powers get out of control in public, with a mysterious agency coming after him. As he tries to evade capture, Ian discovers he's not the only person with these powers and that his whole life has been a lie. This sounds like a very similar premise to Freaks (2018). Awareness stars Carlos Scholz, Pedro Alonso, María Pedraza, Óscar Jaenada, and Lela Loren. This one also reminds me of Hypnotic,...

Money Heist has one final act planned.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming fifth season will be the last for the international hit.
What's more, production on the final season will commence Monday in Denmark, before shooting in Spain and Portugal.
The series picks up when a mysterious man known as "The Professor" recruits a group of eight people, who choose cities for code-names, to carry out an ambitious plan that involves entering the Royal Mint of Spain, and escaping with €2.4 billion.
After taking 67 people hostage inside the Mint, the team plans to remain inside for 11 days to print the money as they deal with elite police forces.
In the events succeeding the initial heist, the group are forced out of hiding and find themselves preparing for a second heist, this time on the Bank of Spain, as they again deal with hostages and police forces.

Latido Films, Amazon Prime Video and Vértice Cine have boarded vet Spanish filmmaker Fernando Colomo’s comedy project “Poliamor para principiantes”.

Amazon Prime Video has acquired Spanish TV rights, Latido is handling international sales, while Vértice Cine will distribute in Spain.
Helmer-producer-director Colomo has made his reputation over more than four decades with small-scale comedies with a social agenda, such as “Tigres de papel,” “Bajarse al moro” and “Alegre ma non troppo.”
“Colomo has a very intelligent take on the transformations of Spanish society and knows how to sharpen its contradictions,” said Latido Films CEO Antonio Saura.
Questioned about the increasing international demand of film comedies, Longoria said: “Certainly, we are facing the boom of local products, very local films that deal with global issues.

Barcelona – “Who Would You Take to a Desert Island?” is the second directorial outing from Spain’s Jota Linares (“Animales sin collar”) a Netflix Original premiering on Friday, March 22 in competition at the Malaga Spanish Language Film Festival.
Starring María Pedraza, Jaime Lorente, Pol Monen and Andrea Ros, the film is the movie adaptation of a successful play which found remarkable success on Spain’s off-stage circuit.
The director says: “It’s my love-hate letter to my generation; a dramatic comedy about young people facing up to the person they have become. It’s a necessary, yet uncommon generational story in cinema.”
Variety talked to producer Beatriz Bodegas at La Canica Films, about the film, and the significance of Netflix’s presence in Spain.
You have already tested the story on the stage. What were the main changes for the film adaptation?
It began as a short (“Ratas”) by the same director,...

Spoiler alert: This review includes some (but not all!) spoilers for the first season of Netflix’s “Élite.”
The first time I heard about Netflix’s new teen drama “Élite” was from a friend was gushing about how it felt like several great shows in one. If it were a mathematical equation, he said, “Elite” would look something like, “The O.C.” multiplied by “Gossip Girl,” divided by “Veronica Mars,” to the power of “Big Little Lies” — which, to be frank, sounded overwhelming. How could it take on so many tropes at once without becoming an overstuffed Frankenstein of a show?
Within 10 minutes, my fears started to melt away. “Élite” does indeed include countless teen show clichés, but it also relishes the opportunity to dig a bit deeper and twist them into more interesting shapes. It interrogates the very tropes it indulges by finding new gears in old plot engines. And...
