For the first time in four years, the annual Awesome Games Done Quick (Agdq) event included an in-person gathering as part of the festivities. Thousands of gamers got together to speedrun their favorite titles. As per usual, Agdq contained a charity component. At the end of the weeklong festival, the speedrunning community reached a fundraising total of $2.5 million, which will go to support the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

For over a decade, the annual Awesome Games Done Quick event has seen some of the most talented video game speedrunners in the world push their skills to the limit to help raise money for charity. Yet, despite their accomplishments, most of those gamers were ultimately mere humans. Opposable digits, dry noses, a distinct lack of tails…disgusting, really.
