Geeta Jhala (Born 4th July, 1988) is quintessentially an Urban Music Artist who's versatility and dynamic power packed live performances have led to her to becoming amongst the most sought after female singers.
Geeta found initial fame with her spin on Panjabi MC's International hit Moorni, for the BBC Asian Network in 2012 which placed well on the Asian Network Charts for several months whilst in her native London. Here she was lauded by BBC Asian Network for her 'originality' and distinct sound.
She later moved to Mumbai and continued to create more independent music eventually breaking into the Bollywood industry a few years on with the 2015 Superhit Welcome Back title track alongside the superstar Mika Singh.
A self professed Songwriter and Composer, Geeta pens a majority of her own music and feels this has been essential to her developing her own true style. She has been lauded for her distinct tone and soulful sound, one which has set her apart from other female artists.
Her music portrays versatility, often incorporating catchy pop hooks, rap, and melodious compositions primarily in English, Hindi, Punjabi and her native Gujarati.
She credits her uniquely Urban touch and soulful sound to the wave of Reggaeton, Bashment and Soca vibes in the late 90's and early 2000's and her Eastern influences to listening to Bollywood compositions and Indian regional folk music growing up.

Born to Indian parents in London, British - Indian Geeta Jhala largely credits her international sound and immense love for different languages to her upbringing and exposure to both the East and West.
Music Career:
Having made her Bollywood Debut in 2015 both singing and composing the title track alongside Mika Singh in Superhit sequel Welcome Back, Geeta made Mumbai her base and continued to pursue a career in Music.
She continued to develop her passion for writing and went on to compose 'Aaja Maahi' a melancholic tale of love which was exclusively aired on PTC Punjabi. With over 500K Youtube views, the song continues to be a favourite amongst her audiences. 'Jadon Raat Dhale' also penned by Geeta, followed suit with an added Urban touch.
Her second movie playback 'Ranjhana' from the Jackie Shroff starrer Sardar Saab (2017) was her entry into Pollywood and proved to be a hit with the Punjabi audiences.
'Oh Miss' another Punjabi number followed, being releasing through T series. Most recently in 2020, Geeta released her first Urban Gujarati single, 'Thodi vaar' which she identifies was her calling to create new fresh music for Gujarati audiences. The song was well received and has paved way for a number of Gujarati releases Geeta has up her sleeve.
