If there is anything that history has taught us, it is that talent is often stalked by doubt. It is as though the world desperately seeks a layer of falsity when someone is really good at something. They want the satisfaction of being able to say, ‘I knew it was a ruse!’ Unfortunately, Martin Scorsese is no stranger to such questions.

Even though he has been regarded as one of the greatest talents of all time, many overly analyze his poor decisions of the past as proof that what is raw talent, is just a clever con. However, one of the most infamous instances of such questioning crossed several lines.
So much so, that beloved director, Guillermo del Toro, felt the need to speak out in support of Scorsese.

Masters of the Air was a labor of love for executive producers Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. The Apple TV+ series marks the third and final installment of the trio’s war drama miniseries, after Band of Brothers and The Pacific.
The series took three years to create and cost between $250 million and $300 million to produce, including a hefty $60 million in Covid compliance costs to film during the pandemic. The result was an epic nine-part series with 325 speaking parts and an amazing cast of up-and-coming actors.
“The best stories are from history,” said Goetzman during a discussion at the Deadline and Apple TV+ event Inside the Finale, joined by series cast members Barry Keoghan, Callum Turner, Rafferty Law, Josiah Cross, Nate Mann and Anthony Boyle. “Nonfiction is always more fascinating than fiction, and there’s no greater stories of human cost, triumph, passion, love… the biggest story of...

“Masters of the Air” soared to become Apple TV+’s highest-watched series launch ever when the first episodes dropped in January. While it might seem like a no-brainer that the team behind “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific” — including Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman — would hit it out of the park with a new World War II series, it wasn’t plain sailing, in large part thanks to Covid, which resulted in numerous delays. “It made the production very difficult,” Goetzman told Variety ahead of the series launch.
But also, in keeping with Apple TV+’s low-key publicity strategy, “Masters of the Air” somehow debuted on the streamer with minimal publicity, despite the fact that in the period between being pre- and post-production its key cast, including Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Barry Keoghan and Ncuti Gatwa had been propelled from jobbing actors to leading men.

While you weren’t watching, Amazon’s Prime Video quietly blossomed into a haven for adult animation. The streaming service’s latest addition to its lineup, the sci-fi comedy “The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy,” is the brainchild of Cirocco Dunlap, whose résumé includes Netflix’s “Russian Doll” and “Big Mouth.” The show, which is now streaming, follows the adventures of two alien doctors, Klak and Sleech, as they treat a myriad of strange illnesses and maladies afflicting the brilliant and unique beings that populate the titular galaxy.
While the show’s writers are clearly having fun trying to stretch the limits of the imagination, the series also dedicates a significant amount of its runtime to telling relatable stories about universally understood medical conditions, too, like anxiety. The result is a well-rounded, enjoyable comedy that deserves your attention. When you toss in an impressive voice cast that also includes Kieran Culkin,...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from “Part 6” of “Masters of the Air,” now streaming on Apple TV+.
When Major John “Bucky” Egan (Callum Turner) is marched through the front gates of the Stalag Luft III prison camp in the final moments of Part 6 of Apple TV+’s “Masters of the Air,” the last thing you’d might expect to see is a smile. And yet, despite the atrocities he’s just endured on the road to get here, there is reason for Bucky to smile — even if there’s a changed man behind it.
Going into last week’s mission, Egan was driven by a singular need to find his missing-in-action friend, Major Gale “Buck” Cleven (Austin Butler). But when he is forced to eject from his doomed plane, Egan finds himself with a new mission to survive behind enemy lines.
“This friendship means so much to him,” Turner tells Variety.

Masters of the Air is into its second act, it seems, as there was a clear shift in storytelling in the sixth episode. There were no missions shown, and for good reason. World War II had many facets, and it did not include just airmen flying their planes and dropping bombs on planned sites. The sixth episode took a different route and showed how some became prisoners of war, while a few became dignitaries at overseas conferences about the war. There was an attempt to isolate Egan’s experience as he tried to escape from Germany. In the previous episode, he had parachuted down to a farm, and it was hinted that he would be caught. Rosenthal had his own struggles, as after three missions he had seen a lot of his pals die and was sent to some sort of relaxation center. Crosby, on the other hand, got a chance to go to Oxford,...

The fifth episode of Masters of the Air was one of the most intense chapters in the tapestry of the whole show. Egan was back and willing to go on another mission, and it was clear he didn’t care if he survived. He just wanted to drop another bomb and make the Germans pay, partly because they had taken his dear friend Cleven away. The change in attitude was the most striking, as Egan went from something of an idealistic man to a reckless figure who just wanted to deal damage, irrespective of what he was damaging. The newbies also got a taste of the missions; there was a panic, and Rosenthal, one of the newest recruits, saw what he had signed up for.

From its modest beginnings as a railroad link to Los Angeles, CA and Salt Lake City, Ut in 1905 to its mob-led urbanization in the 1930s as a gambling mecca (and later a family-friendly mega resort with the arrival of Howard Hughes in the 1960s), Las Vegas, Nevada has long served as a draw to those with an entrepreneurial spirit and a keen sense of showmanship. Masters of the Air is primarily a show about the sheer horror men had to face during World War 2. Germany had the Luftwaffe, which had some serious firepower, but America had the Eighth Air Force, which was making tactically brilliant decisions by dropping their bombs right where it would hurt the German war effort the most. In the previous episodes, we had seen the harrowing scenes at the high altitudes, and yet the new episode begins with enthusiastic men, including Cleven and Egan, who get ready for a long flight right into the heart of darkness.
Spoilers Ahead
What Plan Did The Eighth Air Force Make?
A lot of good men had lost their lives in the previous mission; hence, a strategy was needed to make the next mission a success. It was doing nobody any good to put in an effort without actually succeeding in bombing the German sites of interest.

Apple TV+ series “Masters of the Air” is the third collaboration from the team behind HBO’s “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific.” Trio Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Steven Spielberg produced the nine-part World War II epic series, which spotlights the men who fought in the 8th Air Force, specifically the men of the 100th Bomb Group. The vivid and vital story finds roots in the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller.
The crew of a typical Eighth Air Force heavy bomber plane included ten men — a pilot and his co-pilot flying the B17, the navigator and the bombardier in the machine’s nose, the flight engineer behind the pilot, the radio operator, two waist gunners, a ball turret gunner and a tail gunner. Not to mention the men who strategized from the bases, the plane engineers and Tuskegee airmen or Royal Airforce pilots who feature in this story.

In Apple TV+’s new World War II series Masters of the Air, Major John C. “Bucky” Egan (Callum Turner) fearlessly soars through the skies in state-of-the-art Flying Fortress planes advancing against the Nazis. At 25,000 feet up in the clouds, the World War II commander pilot stays warm, and in uniform, in his “lucky” shearling B3 bomber jacket.
“It was freezing up there,” Turner tells The Hollywood Reporter, explaining the physical and mental, risks the real members of the 100th Bomb Group endured through their harrowing missions. “It was a hostile environment not only because of the German [fighter jets] but also because of the atmosphere and the weather. They were in sheepskin jackets for a reason.”
Also known as the “Bloody 100th” for the staggering number of lives lost in combat, the squadron helped liberate Europe through new and constantly advancing technology — also as illustrated through the evolution of the airmen’s commanding leather jackets.

Band of Brothers and The Pacific were much loved when they came out, and the new series Masters of the Air is made with the same fabric and is promising to be another riveting show revolving around the hardships of war. This time, the focus is on the American bomber planes that went to Europe to fight against Nazi Germany. The series picks some templates right up from Band of Brothers, where the bond between Maj. Nixon and Maj. Winters was the bedrock of the series. The two seemed to have been replaced by Maj. Gale ‘Buck’ Cleven and Maj. John ‘Bucky’ Egan. Masters of the Air gives us a harrowing look at what the bomber planes had to do and what challenges lay ahead of the officers, who put their lives on the line every time the bomber planes took flight.

Masters of the Air, created by John Orloff, is one of those series that relies not only on the filmmaking but also on the theme around which it revolves. World War II movies are a genre in themselves, and there have been miniseries like Band of Brothers that are etched in people’s memories as one of the greatest shows ever made. Masters of the Air thus has some great help and some great competition as well, but overall, the series is expected to be an epic narrative about the 100th Bomber Squads, who put their lives on the line to carry out the mission to weaken Nazi Germany during World War 2. There are some heavy hitters in the series, and we expect some outstanding performances out of them all.

Austin Butler and Callum Turner are preparing to take flight as Majors Gale “Buck” Cleven and John “Bucky” Egan in Apple TV+‘s Masters of the Air. A follow-up to the Steven Spielberg–Tom Hanks-produced wartime hits Band of Brothers and The Pacific, the show follows the 100th Bomb Group as they conduct bombing raids over Nazi Germany and cope with the terrifying combat being conducted 25,000 feet in the air. Chatting with Turner and Egan, TV Insider learned a bit more about their characters and onscreen bond, which serves as a beating heart to the story. (Credit: Apple TV+) “He’s an extrovert, to say the least,” Turner teases of his character who, he says, “joined up before Pearl Harbor and wanted to fight the good fight in the way that he knew how.” That way was flying. Something that both Buck and Bucky have in common is a shared love of the sky.

The moment Elvis Presley stepped in front of the camera for his second appearance on "The Milton Berle Show" in 1956, there was no doubt that this young man was destined for more than pop music superstardom. Much more.
Conversationally, he was downright adorable with his boyish good looks and aw-shucks Southern shyness, but once the music kicked in he was transformed into a hunk of burning lust. That gyrating pelvis and run-riot voice spurred sexual awakenings in living rooms across the country (in full view of outraged parents). To teenagers, Elvis belted out a call to rebellion. To parents, he was a pompadoured incubus. To Hollywood, he was singing, swaggering box-office gold.
Between 1956 and 1972, Elvis starred in 31 features and two concert films. There were lulls (particularly when his popularity faded prior to his 1968 comeback special), but for the most part Elvis reliably packed 'em in. According to producer Hal B. Wallis...

Khan Noonien Singh's trajectory as a fictional character is the opposite of his in-universe life story. He was once a superhuman tyrant who ruled much of the Earth — after being overthrown, he fled to space aboard the SS Botany Bay. Upon reawakening, he was bested twice by James T. Kirk and died failing to avenge himself. For audiences though, Khan went from a villain of the week (in the "Star Trek" episode "Space Seed") to the greatest of all "Trek" villains thanks to his reappearance in the film "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan."
Before "The Wrath of Khan," however, "Star Trek" was in trouble. "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" underwhelmed, Paramount was hesitant about a sequel, and Leonard Nimoy had to be convinced to return as Spock. That's why the film famously ends with his character dying — except, during shooting, Nimoy changed his mind about exiting. Thus, when...

Casting turnover is the name of the game when it comes to the Law & Order franchise. Through 23 seasons of the flagship series (and not even to mention the many spinoffs), Law & Order has cycled through dozens of casting combinations in filling out both the “law” and “order” halves of its ensemble.
When Law & Order returned for season 21 in 2022 after a lengthy hiatus, it looked like it had a solid detective duo in place with Anthony Anderson’s Kevin Bernard and Jeffrey Donovan’s Frank Cosgrove. Now, just two years later both actors are gone. Anderson departed after season 21 and Donovan after season 22.

The chips are falling into place now, and we are circling the end of this wild and alluring season. With the deck stacked against Tommy, from enemies he can see and enemies he's not even aware of, you can't even begin to predict how things will end up.
But if that closing frame of Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 8 was any indication, he's never felt more alive.
This was a very messy installment from start to finish.
And there's no easy place to jump in, but it's probably best to start at the top with Vic doing his damndest to cover his tracks.
Vic has been flying by the seat of his pants since he became a snitch, and he stepped in it when he killed Vargas. He may not have had a choice, but it put an even larger target on his back as far as Stacy was concerned.

“I’m feeling great. I wouldn’t have come back unless all of the doctors and everybody gave me the go-ahead,” said Feehily.
The 43-year-old singer missed out on a number of Westlife’s concerts last year due to health issues and recovering from surgery.
“I just have to take it easy when I’m not on stage and stuff like that because I’m still finding my feet a little bit,” he continued. “As I said, I wouldn’t have came back unless I felt completely ready.

"You ever get tired of being at the bottom of the top?"
Truer words have never been spoken by Mr. Tommy Egan, who heads into Power Book IV: Force Season 2 ready to take over Chicago by any means necessary. And we do mean any means necessary.
With the premiere less than a month away, we've got the full trailer here and some new photos, and let's just say this is going to be one can't-miss season.
Tommy has never been one to fall in line. No, he wants to be the leader of that line, and he'll do whatever it takes to make that a reality.
To know Tommy is to know that he is always looking for the next come-up, and as you'll see in the trailer, he's got big plans for his future.
When Power Book IV: Force Season 1 ended, Tommy was down his number one ally when Claudia killed Liliana.

“Right now we just let them fight each other while we expand our territory,” he tells Diamond in the just-released video. “And then, when nobody’s looking, we slide right on in.”

It’s always fun to see some of our horror heroes appear outside of their given role as it were. We’ve seen Stephen King appear in tons of his story’s adaptations, but he also showed up in things not associated with him like Sons of Anarchy. Sure, you get athletes that try acting, some that are even successful, but how about our beloved horror hosts? Many of them only stayed on the critique end of the movie spectrum but a couple have made the jump. Joe Bob Briggs appeared in a segment of the recent Scare Package as well as a deleted scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 but never got the spotlight in his own feature length film.

A24 has optioned Jennifer Egan’s novel “A Visit from the Goon Squad” and its sequel “The Candy House” for a TV series, with Olivia Wilde attached to direct, a rep for the actress told TheWrap on Friday. The “Don’t Worry Darling” helmer will also executive produce with Jennifer Fox.
Egan’s first novel in the series, which tells 13 different stories connected to record company executive Bennie Salazar, won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize. The 2022 sequel, “The Candy House,” was a New York Times bestselling novel, alongside the already-adapted “Where the Crawdads Sing” and “The Last Thing He Told Me.”
This would be Wilde’s first major project for television. “Don’t Worry Darling,” which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, earned nearly $90 million globally.
