NBA star Jimmy Butler is tipping top seed Carlos Alcaraz to win his quarterfinal match on Wednesday night in his absence but promised he'll be back in New York for the semifinal on Friday.
The Miami Heat ace has been a mainstay on the tennis courts of New York, as he continues to enjoy an eventual offseason away from the basketball courts. Butler is a massive fan of Alcaraz and both maintain a cordial relationship and mutual respect and admiration for each other.
This year's US Open has rocked and rumbled in the presence of a gaudy list of celebrities and famous glitterati. But Butler's love goes far beyond watching tennis matches in person, as he also enjoys a close bond with Alcaraz and Coco Gauff, the 19-year-old American phenom who reached her first US Open semifinal.

Orlando, Oct 5 (Ians) After Game 2 of the ongoing NBA Finals, Jimmy Butler had said "It's not over". He made sure he lived up to his statement in Game 3 as Miami Heat beat LA Lakers 115-104 in Game 3. Butler recorded a 40-point triple double to keep Heat alive in the series at 2-1.

Butler became only the third player after Jerry West and LeBron James to record a 40-point triple-double in NBA Finals history. He is also the first player since Shaquille O'Neal in 2002 to score 40 points without attempting a 3-pointer, as per an NBA release.

Michael Strahan is a man who doesn’t mind getting down, dirty and even slimy for a job.
The former Super Bowl champion and current “Strahan and Sara” co-host is returning to Nickelodeon to host the “Kids’ Choice Sports 2019,” the network announced on Thursday.
“Nickelodeon’s ‘Kids’ Choice Sports’ is a one-of-a-kind awards show that brings all-star athletes, kids and of course, slime together,” Strahan in a statement. “When I hosted the first year of the show, I loved it — the energy, stunts, kids, crowd and slime … a lot of slime!
“Hosting this show has been one of my favorite things I’ve done, and this year is going to be the biggest, the baddest and the slimiest,” he added.

Jimmy Butler has made more than $60 Million in his NBA career -- and will most likely sign another $100 Million contract soon. The guy can clearly afford to drive whatever fancy car he desires -- especially when dining in Beverly Hills. But, there was no Ferrari. Or Bugatti. Or even a BMW. On Wednesday afternoon, Butler was behind the wheel of a minivan ... and damn proud of it. The Minnesota Timberwolves star was leaving Il Pastaio...

When LeBron James left the Cavs to sign with the Lakers earlier this month, he left a chunk of change on the table. Under NBA rules, Cleveland could have rained down more than $200 million over five years on the man many consider the best player in the league. Los Angeles was allowed to pony up a mere $154 million over four years.
But there’s a great equalizer on the West Coast: Hollywood, where top current NBA stars aren’t just the face of films; they’re producers and financiers too. It didn’t start with Curry, who just formed his own production company after signing a multiyear development pact with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
This is a different kind of game, but one that’s just as appealing to those who are ultracompetitive. Let’s call them the NBA’s Media All-Stars.

Here's Paul George telling TMZ Sports that L.A. is his spot, then name-dropping Kevin Durant instead of directly saying who the Lakers need to beat the Warriors. ... So What Does It All Mean?! We got the NBA free agent leaving Catch in Weho Friday night and asked if we can expect more L.A. sightings of him (translation: is he coming to the Lakers?), but he wouldn't bite ... instead just telling us what we...

Jimmy Butler can Saaaaang! Now that his Minnesota Timberwolves have gon' fishin' ... the NBA superstar took his talents back to Chicago where he decided to put his singing skills on display at Prysm Nightclub. The song? "Let Me Love You" by Mario ... and Butler didn't sound too bad! In fact, the crowd loved it -- especially one female fan who got onstage and started dancing it out with the 28-year-old. “The President Show” (Comedy Central, 11:30 p.m.) – Scholar Michael Eric Dyson discusses race in America.
Comedy Central’s surreal weekly late night experiment is coming into its own. Whether or not the show has a bizarre, Kubrick-inspired diversion this week, it’s become a dependable stop on the after-11:00 p.m. tour.
