Conservative social media influencer Isabella Maria DeLuca was charged with breaching the U.S. Capitol building and helping pass a stolen table out of a broken window.
DeLuca’s charges were confirmed in court records made public last week after she was arrested in Irvine, California.
The native of Setauket, New York, interned for former Rep. Lee Zeldin, who represented part of Long Island, and right-wing Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Arizona).
She was employed as a media associate for the Gold Institute for International Strategy until they cut ties with her on March 18. Her profile on the institute’s website mentions she served as an ambassador for the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA.
A spokesperson for the Gold Institute for International Strategy stated that it learned on March 18 that DeLuca, who had an unpaid position to update the organization’s social media presence, was facing criminal charges and said that after “further internal investigation,...

Things got a bit tense at “The View” table on Wednesday, as the hosts turned on each other while discussing crime in the nation. During the discussion, host Joy Behar scolded Alyssa Farah Griffin for “exaggerating” the level of insecurity of the city.
The topic came up as the women reflected on the debate between New York gubernatorial candidates Kathy Hochul and Lee Zeldin on Tuesday. During the debate, Zeldin argued that Hochul is too focused on gun crime, and not addressing violent incidents happening in the city. But moderator Whoopi Goldberg argued that “crime is rough everywhere, it’s happening everywhere” and cited data indicating that murder rates are actually higher in Republican states.
She added that what she really wanted from Zeldin was a concrete plan to address and handle it.
“What is your plan Lee Zeldin? Because, we know people are getting stabbed, we know what’s happening,...

A man who hit Rudy Giuliani on the back in a Staten Island, N.Y. store will have his charges dismissed if he doesn’t commit a crime for six months.
Giuliani had tried to cause an uproar over the situation, saying the touch was “like somebody shot me” and that he almost fell over in one TV interview, but prosecutors didn’t seem to agree.
Giuliani was at the ShopRite supermarket in support of his son Andrew Giuliani‘s bid to be the Republican nominee for Governor of New York in the upcoming election. Andrew wasn’t able to mine enough support from his dad’s stint as New York mayor and failed to secure the nomination, which went to U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin.

Carl Paladino lost his bid for a congressional seat representing New York’s 23rd district Tuesday after being bested by opponent Nick Langworthy — but only by a small margin.
Langworthy narrowly edged out his competitor by roughly three percentage points with 95 of precincts reported as of midnight.
The race drew national attention as Paladino, a businessman and former candidate to become New York’s governor, drew praise from the Maga wing of the Republican Party, landing endorsements from conspiracy theorists like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.

New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Andrew Giuliani won’t get a shot. But he wants television to give him a shot at convincing voters.
Giuliani, the son of former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, claims that New York’s local news station, NY1, barred him from their studios for the next gubernatorial debate because he’s unvaccinated.
Last week, CBS also barred Andrew Giuliani from their studio debate because of his vaccination status.
Andrew Giuliani says he should be allowed to debate rival candidates Lee Zeldin, Harry Wilson and Rob Astorino. He proposed a neutral location or in the Chelsea studio of the cable news channel.
“NY1 Spectrum News has imposed a Covid mandate, saying that I can actually not come in the building again,” he said during a Sunday press conference.
“Your position is a blatant act of discrimination against and selective treatment of the leading candidate in the Republican primary,...

The highlight of the third night of the Republican National Convention will be speeches by Vice President Mike Pence and the second lady of the United States, Karen Pence, but there is another major news story looming: Hurricane Laura.
Throughout the day on Wednesday, news networks already were doing a split screen tracker of the hurricane, which is posing a threat to the Gulf Coast as a potential category four storm as it makes landfall. That is projected on the Louisiana and Texas coasts sometime late in the evening or Thursday morning.
Convention planners have not yet said how or if the oncoming hurricane will be addressed during the evening’s events, or if any plans are changing.
This actually is not a new thing for political conventions – which often land in August, at the start of hurricane season. In 2008, Republicans canceled most of the events planned for the first...

Depending on which side of the aisle you’re backing, today’s impeachment hearing was either a total Schiff show – or something a bit messier.
New York Gop Rep. Lee Zeldin’s fast-talking Long Island accent apparently confused a closed-captioner when he referred to the impeachment hearing as a “Schiff Show,” a reference to Congressman Adam Schiff, the Democratic House Intelligence chairman.
“It’s a total Schiff Show. I urge all of my colleagues to vote no,” Zeldin said in his speech.
Viewers who were watching with closed captioning saw the line as “a total Shit Show.”
Schiff took the mistake in good humor, smiling at the remark, but didn’t comment. President Trump has frequently referred to him as Adam Schitt in remarks and tweets.
I'm 99% sure Gop Congressman Lee Zeldin just said "It's a total Schiff show" during the impeachment proceedings, presumably making a crude wordplay joke with Congressman Adam Schiff's last name.
