On September 10, over 300 guests gathered at the Brooklyn Museum, where American Express and its Platinum Card Creative Director, Pharrell Williams, hosted the Yellow Ball in support of arts education nationwide.

The evening was named and inspired by Pharrell, who explained the evening’s yellow theme to attendees: “Yellow is the color of creativity and curiosity. It serves as a representation of the bright light we are shining on the need for arts education, and its incredible power to paint a brighter future for us all.”

The Sundance Film Festival is just getting started in Park City, Utah, and virtual reality company Jaunt Inc. is heating things up at the winter event by announcing a Vr series reimagining of The Lawnmower Man, the 1992 film based on the Stephen King short story of the same name.
A far cry from King’s short story upon which it is based, Brett Leonard’s The Lawnmower Man movie heavily incorporated virtual reality in its plot. No details on the Vr series’ plot are known at this time, other than the fact that it will be a “reimagination of the film.”

Sundance Institute and Jaunt Studios have announced their latest class of creatives to join the Sundance Institute New Frontier | Jaunt Vr Residency Program. Daniel Arsham, Yung Jake, and Lily Baldwin & Saschka Unseld will participate in the six-month immersive residency. A$AP Rocky's new album At.Long.Last.A$AP dropped just days ago, and as part of the inexorable convergence and cross-pollination of pop music and art, he's collaborating with a visual artist, too. Somehow, in between the wild time he had at South by Southwest (copping LSD from Makonnen and then indulging in three acid-fueled orgies), A$AP Rocky and the artist/"snarchitect" Daniel Arsham met up for a photo shoot.
