Albie and Penny are having a night out without their two kids. They need it because their once-perfect marriage is falling apart, something that’s obvious from his lack of reaction when she comes downstairs ready to go.
Things do get better, Penny’s mother even says she’ll keep the kids overnight. But things take a bad turn on the way home. And an even worse one when they get home and find a man and woman (Julianne Ruck) claiming to live there. When Albie gets hostile, the man uses some kind of mental power on him.
Compounding their problems, their neighbour Mark (Mark Norwood; Mantra) claims not to know them and the police not only don’t care, they’re actively hostile. They visit Penny’s sister Kimmy (Whitney...

The Jared Allmond’s movie, named The Hive, introduces us to Albie (Timothy Haug) and Penny (Christie Griffin), a couple who have been in love for as long as they can remember. They were college sweethearts and later exchanged vows with one another, hoping for a happy and romantic future. But a couple of years down the road, things changed. Albie drowned himself in work and often forgot he had someone waiting for him at home. Albie didn’t compliment her or appreciate the efforts she put into getting ready for him and their dates. He was always so consumed in his work that he didn’t even pay attention to the little things that make relationships thrive, like having date nights, family picnics, and whatnot!
Albie was a Hollywood screenwriter, always pushing himself to pen the best award-winning movies he could. But he’d been struggling for a few...

Murder Syndicate opens with Isa driving her car and dealing with her three squabbling offspring, Cain, Becca and Jonah.
But this isn’t some suburban soccer mom taking her kids to school. She’s the head of a criminal syndicate and they’re professional assassins on the way to a job. A job that almost fails when Isa mysteriously collapses. Isa’s boyfriend Zane turns up in time to get them to safety but it’s obvious something is wrong. And that sign of weakness at the top sets a battle for control of the operation into motion.
Writer/director Michael Matteo Rossi gives Murder Syndicate one of the more unusual openings for a mob thriller but quickly gets back into familiar territory with a burst of action...

Tagline: "It Grows on You." *full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by the film's publicity arm. Director: Mark Newton. Writers: Christian Hokenson. Cast: Miles Doleac, Timothy Haug, Johnny McPhail and Wyntergrace Williams. Attack of the Southern Fried Zombies reminds this viewer of a much older film. Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) was one of the first films this viewer remembers watching which was truly laugh out loud funny. Attack of the Southern Fried Zombies, from director Mark Newton and writer Christian Hokenson, is also full of great one-liners and silly scenarios. But, there were no zombies in the Kentucky Fried Movie. In this film, much of the undead action takes place at a music festival. Here, a toxin turns the city of Charleston mad. There is a lot of plot for viewers to chew through as the many characters have their own subplots, or character arcs to work through.
