It’s truly baffling how deeply some people can get caught up in cults, isn’t it? The way they manipulate and control individuals through superstition and rituals is just shocking. And the more shocking part is that it’s not just ordinary people who fall victim to these schemes; even scientists and celebrities can get drawn in, like Tom Cruise with Scientology or Brigitte Boisselier with Raël’s cult. It’s like they’re living in a whole different reality! I recently watched A Deadly Threat to My Family by Erin Lovett, and let me tell you, Serena’s (Gina Vitori) story had me questioning all these things even more! Leaving a cult like the Builders of Ascension takes some serious guts, and then the leader, Olef, gets arrested. Also there is this prophecy called “The Rise,” saying the world’s about to end within a week and they...

The Asylum is back with another bit of “mockbuster” cinema” here in early 2024, with Snow White and the Seven Samurai released onto Digital outlets this past weekend.
Mma fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson stars in the film.
In director Michael Su’s Snow White and the Seven Samurai, “Left for dead by her rich and powerful stepmother, Snow White is taken in by a team of assassins – The Seven Samurai, who train her in their ways of fighting. As her stepmother becomes more and more powerful, Snow White and the samurai take up arms to topple her once and for all.”
Eric Roberts and Gina Vitori also star in the action-thriller.
Jacob David Smith wrote the screenplay.

The crossover you didn’t know you needed, The Asylum’s Snow White and the Seven Samurai combines a beloved fairytale and an epic classic in a new action movie now available digitally. So move over, Rachel Zegler, before you get disemboweled by a katana!
Here is the official plot of Snow White and the Seven Samurai: “Left for dead by her rich and powerful stepmother, Snow White is taken in by a team of assassins – The Seven Samurai, who train her in their ways of fighting. As her stepmother becomes more and more powerful, Snow White and the samurai take up arms to topple her once and for all.”
The trailer asks, “Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who kicks the most ass of them all?” That may not be Snow White but rather Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, whose name and face get the most space on the movie’s poster.

Exclusive: Deadline has exclusive first look photos for Pink Flags, an indie thriller starring married actors Raye Levine Spielberg & Sawyer Spielberg (Merry Good Enough), which is currently finishing up post.
Written and directed by Misha Calvert, the film follows figure skater Liberty (Levine Spielberg) as she is stalked, or so she thinks, by a strange man (Spielberg) who appears at her ice rink. She starts stalking him back and finds herself in a series of beautiful but disturbing visions while she attempts to solve the mystery.
Channeling the style of classic paranoid thrillers of the ’70s, the film also stars Nick Creegan (Batwoman). Cronin Cullen and Calvert produced alongside associate producers Olivia Winn and Shrevy Venkatesh, and consulting producer Federica Belletti, with Shona Tuckman among the EPs. Check out the stills from Pink Flags below.

On-screen text opens the film to highlight the harm caused by the 2018 red tide outbreak, as over $10 million in tourist money was lost alongside an unfathomable massacre of 2000 tons of marine life. That real-life event is used as the basis for this feature, directed by John A. Russo, Gavin Peretti, and Joseph M. Setele.
The contamination of water from red tide helps convicted cop killer Al David (Rich Sands) somehow escape from custody. An ensuing chase ends with the convict falling into the water after being shot by Sheriff Tom Fuller (Michael Paré), which results in David being infected by the polluted water and transforming into a monster.

The Asylum return to the disaster movie well with Skyjacked, a film whose title outlines Exactly what happens in the film! This one comes from English director Rob Pallatina, whose already helmed numerous films for The Asylum after cutting (pun intended) his teeth as an editor on a whole slew of Asylum productions and other low-budget fare. Whilst the directorial reigns are under the purview of someone well-versed in mockbusters, newcomer Alex Heerman pens the script for a film that [like a lot of The Asylum’s movies] follows just about every cliche and stereotype in the book. But that’s not actually a bad thing, especially when it comes to disaster movies And Asylum movies!

Yay! It’s another mockbuster from The Asylum. Yes, those fine purveyors of shark-schlock have returned to their mockbuster roots with The Tomb: Heart of the Dragon, a low-budget “homage” to the Tomb Raider series, another example of The Asylum’s savvy marketing methinks – originally timed to debut a mere week Before the release of the Alicia Vikander starring blockbuster reboot of the film franchise but not released in the UK, direct to DVD, until this week!
For those unaware, I am a huge fan of The Asylum’s output and I’m not just talking Sharknado and it’s sequels or the myriad of other killer-fish flicks they’ve produced. Films like Avengers Grimm, Abraham Lincoln...
