Two years after its initial reveal, David Dobrik‘s pizzeria is officially coming to Sunset Blvd. The embattled vlogger is breaking ground on Doughbrik’s, which will open its doors on November 12.
In 2020, word spread of Doughbrik’s after the brand’s namesake filed for a punny trademark. An Instagram account for the pizza parlor was launched around that time, though Doughbirk’s has since migrated to a different social media handle.
A lot has happened in Dobrik’s life since he filed for that trademark. He lost most of his sponsorships after a member of his Vlog Squad was accused of rape, and he is now facing a lawsuit from Jeff Wittek. The one-time Vlog Squad collaborator suffered several injuries to his left eye and face while filming a stunt for Dobrik’s channel.
Even though he’s not nearly as influential as he once was, Dobrik still reaches a massive audience.

Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are named defendants in a lawsuit brought forward by an anonymous female plaintiff Jane Doe who claims the comedians groomed her and her brother, an anonymous male plaintiff John Doe, to perform sexual acts when they were children, but Haddish’s attorney vehemently denies the allegations.
According to The Daily Beast, which first broke the news and obtained the legal documents, the female plaintiff, 22, says she and the male plaintiff, 15, were both 14 and 7, respectively, at the time of the alleged sexual abuse. The female plaintiff claims Haddish recruited her after she attended a comedy camp where the comedian was a guest speaker.
According to the lawsuit, the female plaintiff claims “Haddish verbally explained what was expected of Plaintiff Jane Doe and then showed Plaintiff Jane Doe how to give fellatio, including movements, noises, moaning, and groaning.” The lawsuit further claims that Spears looked on while she was “physically,...

What initially starts as a light-hearted look at YouTube star David Dobrik and his “Vlog Squad” evolves into a portrait that doesn’t quite know what to make of him and his enablers. The question of enablers is a fascinating one: an often symbiotic, sometimes parasitic relationship between co-hosts, fans, content creators, and businesses writing big checks. In happier times, Dobrik was known for his raw personal video blogs that merged into something like Jackass, involving dangerous and somewhat complex stunts without the supervision of lawyers as fellow YouTuber, actor Josh Peck, points out. With his “basic” (also Josh Peck’s words) personality, Dobrik acquired a rabid fanbase of pre-teens, teens, and college students. They like him—even more when he has the capability to instantly grant one young woman’s wish with $15,000, courtesy a dating app that paints itself as the feminist alternative to a well-known hookup service.

Most people had a bad 2021, but perhaps no one had a worse year than David Dobrik. At the beginning of last year, the YouTube sensation and head of the crew known as the Vlog Squad was on top of the world and poised to cross over into the mainstream, having lined up countless blue-chip brand deals and even an eponymous pizza franchise called Doughbrick’s.

David Dobrik is ready to address his falling out with a fellow YouTube star. Last month, Jeff Wittek spoke out about why he was "done" being "fake friends" with the online creator as he recovered from a near-fatal accident. This week, David addressed the issue on his Views video podcast. "The Jeff thing is the f--king worst. That day is like, the worst, the worst thing that's ever happened to me and I wish I would f--king do anything to take that day back and be like, I wish it was me up there," David shared on the March 8 episode. "And it's a s--tty, it's an accident. That's what it was. It's an accident." Back in June 2020, Jeff...

YouTuber Jeff Wittek is opening up about why he cut David Dobrik out of his life. In a new episode of his Jeff FM podcast on Friday, Feb. 25, Wittek called Dobrik a "scumbag" and said that he believes the fellow YouTube star will paint him as being solely responsible for his near-fatal accident—which he is still recovering from—in an upcoming documentary premiering at SXSW next month. E! News has reached out to Dobrik's rep for comment and has not heard back. In June 2020, Wittek suffered serious injuries to his face and skull after he was swung on a rope tied to an excavator operated by Dobrik. Footage of the incident...

Casey Neistat has made a documentary about fellow vlogger David Dobrik that’s set to appear at SXSW – and the film is already causing controversy before it has even premiered.
While neither creator has promoted the film, which is called Under the Influence, per the SXSW schedule, the 100-minute feature proposes to “capture one of the most precipitous rise-and-falls in the history of the internet...in real-time.” It is set to debut on March 12 at the festival, with an online screening the following morning that will be available worldwide.
The film chronicles two controversies weathered by Dobrik: sexual assault allegations surrounding a former collaborator, and a near-lethal accident in which Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek incurred serious eye injuries while performing a dangerous stunt.

Vlog Squad member Jeff Wittek currently has a hit docuseries rolling out on YouTube, but the 31-year-old -- who is sharing the story of how he injured his eye during a stunt gone awry -- has also brought the project to a brand new Patreon account, where he’s achieved unfathomable success.
Three episodes of the series, titled Don’t Try This At Home, are currently live on Wittek’s YouTube channel, which, prior to the accident, housed another venture titled Jeff’s Barbershop, where Wittek welcomed celebrity guests for interviews while offering up haircuts.
Wittek launched a corresponding Patreon account on April 19 in tandem with Don’t Try This At Home, stating that he planned to share behind-the-scenes content, bonus videos, and other moments from the series that had to be restricted due to YouTube guidelines. Jeff Wittek doesn't want you to try this at home. Last summer, the YouTuber confirmed to his fans that he suffered serious injuries after getting into an accident. While the 30-year-old vlogger has refrained from sharing details about the day, that's all changing now. In a new docu-series on YouTube called Don't Try This At Home, Jeff is revealing new details about what caused damage to his face and skull. In episode two—titled "How I Broke My Face"—Jeff explained that he was trying to make a funny video with a group of vloggers. At one point, the group decided to place an excavator vehicle in a lake and swing people around from a rope. According to Jeff,...

Rather than cutting away to commercials for deodorant and body wash, some of TV’s most popular programs on Thursday will try to make them seem part of the show.
To help draw attention to a new campaign for its Old Spice body wash, Procter & Gamble has negotiated with three different media companies for placement on four different networks for five special tie-ins in Thursday’s broadcasts of ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live”; “ESPN’s “SportsCenter”; NBC’s “The Good Place”; and TNT’s coverage of the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Brooklyn Nets.
“Lining up broadcast, digital, and social properties linearly in a 24-hour rotation definitely took some magic,” says Matt Krehbiel, associate brand director of Old Spice, in an interview conducted by email. But securing closer connections with TV programs is of more value than ever for advertisers, he suggests. “We are meeting consumers where they are,...

David Dobrik is taking his merch show on the road.
The Los Angeles-based vlogger is partnering with Casey Neistat’s New York City-headquartered creator hub, 368, to launch a pop-up shop next weekend. The shop will be open at 368 headquarters, in downtown New York, on both May 18 and 19 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, with no tickets needed and entry on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees aren’t guaranteed to meet Dobrik or any other members of his 'Vlog Squad' -- though an invite teases that there could be a chance.
The pop-up will feature new and exclusive items from Dobrik, who creates his line of merch with the upstart FanJoy. Dobrik is perhaps best known for his ‘Clickbait’ line, which features the term emblazoned on hoodies ($50), sweatpants ($45), sports bras ($23), and coffee mugs ($10).
