In 1956, Dolly Parton made her first appearance on Cas Walker’s Farm and Home Hour. The program helped her get her start in the music industry and taught her how to perform. She worked surrounded by men, but Walker said Parton stood her own. He also said that men tended to avoid her.
Cas Walker said men avoided Dolly Parton
When Parton began appearing on Farm and Home Hour, Walker felt he needed to protect her from the various musicians surrounding her.
“I went on a lot of show dates I wouldn’t have went on, but she was fourteen or so, and I went to keep her from bein’ out there with a bunch of tush-hogs,” Walker said in the book Dolly by Alanna Nash. “Those tush-hogs — and there are a lot of ‘em in country music — weren’t safe to be around women. Taylor Sheridan brought anyone with an experience on the ranch into his show Yellowstone. This included the acclaimed country musician Ryan Bingham. Bingham plays the guest role of a ranch hand, Walker, in the series. Interestingly, Sheridan is a big fan of the singer’s music and listened to one of his songs on a loop while writing the script for his pre-Yellowstone film, Wind River.
Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan listened to his favorite singer’s song while writing Wind River
Ryan Bingham’s most recent album, American Love Song, featured a ballad called Wolves, which was inspired by the student organization March For Our Lives. The song was featured in the Taylor Sheridan series, where Bingham’s character sings the song in a scene.

Chicago Fire will look different when it opens Season 13 this fall. Several cast members are leaving the show, and things appear to be in for a shakeup at the station. Eamonn Walker (Deputy District Chief Wallace Boden) is leaving the show as a full-time cast member. Now, another beloved character might also exit the series.
Here is who else might be leaving and what might be next for Chicago Fire.
Chicago Fire Losing Beloved Veteran Firefighter?
One of the original Chicago Fire firefighters has been missing for a few episodes now and many fans are asking if he is leaving the show. This is even more distressing since so many other characters are also departing after Season 12. On top of Walker leaving the main cast (he will stick around as a recurring character), three other characters are also departing.

“When I was just a little girl I asked my mother, what will I be? Will I be pretty? Will I be rich? Here’s what she said to me: Qué será, será. Whatever will be, will be”
The opening of Michael Lehmann’s Heathers begins with a dreamy cover of a familiar song. Angelic voices ask a mother to predict the future only to be met with an infuriating response: “whatever will be, will be.” Her answer is most likely intended to present a life of limitless possibility, but as the introduction to a film devoid of competent parents, it feels like a noncommittal platitude. Heathers is filled with teenagers looking for guidance only to be let down by one adult after another. Gen Xers and elder millennials may have glamorized the outlandish fashion and creative slang while drooling over a smoking hot killer couple, but the violent film now packs an ominous punch.

[Editor’s note: The following interview contains spoilers for the season finale of “The Girls on the Bus.”]
In the Season 1 finale of Max’s “Girls on the Bus,” Sadie (Melissa Benoist) has a tense conversation with Governor Walker (Hettienne Park) that had been building all season. And that’s hardly all.
Walker is a pretty obvious stand-in for Hillary Clinton in the show’s version of a Democratic presidential primary. In Episode 10, written by co-creator Amy Chozick, Walker has just learned that, despite being the most experienced and likely best person for the job, she was going to fall short of getting the necessary delegates to clench the nomination for president. Political journo Sadie comes to speak to Gov. Walker while she’s drowning her sorrows on a campaign bus, and apologizes for how her coverage of her has hurt her over the years — but also lay out her own frustrations about the enigma that is the governor.

Dolly Parton has been navigating the music industry since she was a child. Her uncle drove her to performance venues and recording studios while she was still in school, and she made regular appearances on a local radio show. This taught her how to make her way in the male-dominated industry. According to one musician she knew, Parton didn’t let anyone push her around.
Dolly Parton always stood up for herself in the music industry
In 1956, Parton began making appearances on Cas Walker’s Farm and Home Hour. The radio show allowed her to showcase her talents to the Knoxville area and provided her with her first taste of fame. She was a child and had begun to work with older professional musicians. She didn’t appear to be intimidated by them, though.

CBS’ police procedural thriller show NCIS has been having quite a good time on TV with the recent season 21 being aired and multiple spinoff series making their way to the show universe’s expansion.

I grew up in the time of the Chuck Norris joke. I didn’t even really know who he was apart from the Walker, Texas Ranger guy who Conan O’Brien would pull a lever to get just the most random, out of context clip. I remember seeing the Chuck Norris joke book in a Barnes and Noble store and leafing through it only to find a bunch of absolutely absurd and comically over the top things that Chuck Norris could and would do to you or what he kept behind his beard. It was enough for me to start looking at his overall contribution to film and much of it was action. I found him teaming up with the likes of Lee Marvin in The Delta Force or going up against the great Christopher Lee in An Eye for an Eye. There’s also a great fight he had with...

The thought of losing any of our favorite Chicago Fire characters is painful, but this one cuts extra deep.
Eamonn Walker, who has portrayed Wallace Boden for the series' entire run, has announced his plans to step back from the show.
We're told that he intends to stay involved on some level, but 51 as we know it won't be the same.
Boden's absence has already been felt in the recent episodes, during which the chief was dealing with personal family issues and taking time off work.
Losing this character is a huge hit for the series. Chicago Fire is currently in its 12th season, and Chief Boden has been a staple for every single season so far.
What does this mean for 51? There's a lot we don't know, but here's what's been announced so far:

While there have been multiple cast changes of late on OneChicago, we understand that the decision to step back was his own. The Boden character is still very much alive and well, sources said, and Walker is expected to return to the show in a recurring capacity in the future.
Fans will find more clarity regarding what’s been happening with Boden and his plans moving forward in the Season 12 finale “Never Say Goodbye” airing on May 22. This is not the documentary renaissance we hoped for. Despite its 2023 Oscar win for “Navalny,” CNN pulled back on non-fiction production. Non-fiction programming at Showtime Networks, which produced Oscar-nominated “Attica” in 2022, is no more.
“The New York Times Presents” series, which produced titles like “The Killing of Breonna Taylor” and “Framing Britney Spears,” is being phased out in favor of integrating non-fiction video into the media brand. Hot Docs is on the ropes; Participant, which produced documentaries like “An Inconvenient Truth,” “All the Beauty and the Bloodshed,” and “American Factory,” closed last month.
And then there’s Netflix, which is still very much in the documentary game under Adam Del Deo, Netflix VP of original documentary films and limited series — and can afford to be with nearly 270 million global subscribers. However, it’s a specific sort of gameplay: For tight, high-quality nonfiction work that’s heartwarming, or thrilling, or stars a celebrity,...

Audiences of all ages adore cozy mysteries.
Within the genre, Hallmark mysteries have reigned supreme for years.
The question is which Hallmark mystery movie franchises are the best.
The best cozies contain idyllic settings, well-established characters, and elements of romance and humor. They also need staying power, which is why the multi-movie series are usually the most popular.
With those points in mind, here's how several of them compare.
11. Martha's Vineyard Mysteries (2020–2021)
Jesse Metcalfe plays Jeff Jackson, a medically retired police detective living in the picturesque setting of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. He solves crimes with the help of a doctor and medical examiner, played by Sarah Lind.
This is one of the worst Hallmark mystery franchises in terms of believability. Characters repeatedly get away with things real-life doctors and cops could not do, such as freely sharing confidential information with multiple other characters.

Can you believe that amidst the groundbreaking visual effects and gripping storytelling, the Planet of the Apes franchise has not yet won that coveted golden statuette? Wes Ball, the visionary director slated to helm the upcoming fourth installment in this iconic sci-fi franchise (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), has recently voiced a sentiment that many of us would agree with.
He called it “criminal” that no Planet of the Apes movies has yet won an Oscar—and he is not wrong. With our own eyes, we have seen the evolution of this series from its groundbreaking start in 1968 to the recent masterpieces, where the transformative effects and poignant narratives have consistently raised the bar for filmmaking.

The wait for new Panos Cosmatos features requires patience. Some 13 years since the premiere of Beyond the Black Rainbow has only brought 2018’s Mandy and a 2022 episode of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. Though word’s been quiet on his A24-backed feature Nekrokosm, the next big push might be here: with a script by Andrew Kevin Walker and producing credit from Adam McKay, Cosmatos has enlisted Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac for vampire picture Flesh of the Gods. There are many cases where the same showrunners take actors from projects they have previously worked on and give them offers for upcoming works with Taylor Sheridan being no different. Hugh Dillon became one of the few who went from Wind River to Mayor of Kingstown. Jeremy Renner too met a similar fate. However, for Ryan Bingham, the case was almost the same.
In addition to being a creator, Taylor Sheridan played Travis Wheatley in Yellowstone
The actor almost had an opportunity of starring alongside Jeremy Renner in Wind River. Although not the same, he got the chance to play Walker in Sheridan’s Yellowstone. One of the most loved characters, Walker had a lot of impact on the fans despite his little screen time. Although he was first asked to write a song for Renner’s film, his true calling stood as an actor in the series.

When Supernatural ended on The CW in 2020, many viewers were left with an insurmountable emotional void (and it wasn't just because of the controversial finale). The main consolation was the then-new sports drama All American, which had been on the air for two years and had become one of the most critically acclaimed shows, earning a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes in its second season. What The CW still lacked, however, were impressive ratings.
That all changed in January 2021 with the release of the neo-Western action drama Walker. Not only was the new series a reboot of the iconic 1993 series starring Chuck Norris, but it was fronted by none other than Supernatural star Jared Padalecki as the legendary Texas Ranger. Each season's ratings shattered all previous records on The CW set by other projects.

Last year, New Regency went into production on a horror thriller called Psycho Killer, based on a screenplay written by Se7en scribe Andrew Kevin Walker. Gavin Polone, producer of Zombieland and the Walker-scripted 8Mm, was at the helm of the film, with Georgina Campbell (Barbarian) and Logan Miller (Escape Room) in lead roles and 6’5″+ former professional wrestler James Preston Rogers in the title role. The film has since made its way through post-production, and FilmRatings.com reports that it has officially earned an R rating for strong bloody violence, strong

Factory Striders return in Helldivers 2
Factory Strider in Helldivers 2 is an At-at-style Automaton walker, also known as ‘Walker.’ They are usually spotted on the battlefield stomping around shooting up players. Sometimes, they even seem to spawn other enemies.
Visually, they are giant heavily armed behemoths made of steel. These were actually the foundation of Automaton’s construction. Also considered as Factories on legs,...

Helldivers 2 players are no strangers to threats; it’s inevitable when advancing the front line for Super Earth. Whether it’s the Terminids or the Automatons, Helldivers know almost every problem can be solved with a big gun and a heavy dose of Democracy.
It seems this doesn’t sit right with Joel, the game master. While it’s his job to keep things interesting for players, circumstances should also be fair. So, the latest addition to the game might fly in the face of his responsibilities, but it’s a new threat the players will have to deal with regardless.

The Automatons are bringing out the big guns.
The Super Earth Ministry of Truth is the only body to ever be trusted when it comes to understanding the battlefield. After all, what true patriotic Helldiver would listen to anyone or anything else?...

Could Invincible be getting more seasons on Prime Video? According to Skybound Republic, an investment/crowdfunding site that allows fans to invest in the label, more episodes of the ultra-violent comic book action series are coming. In a since-deleted portion of the webpage, the site said Invincible Season 3 is in production, while the show had been renewed for Seasons 4 and 5. The webpage promotes a video game set in the Invincible universe, which fans can help fund. The crowdfunded project sits at $442,700 as of this posting, with 14 days to go in the campaign.
A portion of the mission statement for the campaign describes why making a video based on a licensed property causes some problems:
“Most crowdfunded video games are centered around indie games, and retail investors rarely have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of Aaa game publishers. Skybound is developing a highly produced, high-octane blood bath that is anything but indie.
