After a look at the first poster and a couple of teasers earlier today, the first official trailer for the Point Break remake arrives for you to give either a "yay" or "nay". Luke Bracey steps into the shoes once occupied by Keanu Reeves as young FBI agent, Johnny Utah, as he infiltrates a team of thrill seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi (Edgar Ramirez). These fellas are suspected of carrying out a string of crimes that kill innocent people and send the world's economy into a tailspin. Deep undercover, and with his life in imminent danger, Utah strives to prove they are the callous architects of these inconceivable crimes. Ray Winstone, Teresa Palmer and the great Delroy Lindo co-star in the movie which will be hitting theaters on Christmas Day. To be honest, as easy as it is to say we don't need this remake, what with...

Apparently the first look at the upcoming Point Break remake from director Ericson Core was shown during CinemaCon down in Las Vegas yesterday and with that comes the first looks at Luke Bracey and Edgar Ramirez in the film playing FBI agent Johnny Utah and extreme sports enthusiast and criminal Bodhi respectively. The duo are playing roles made popular by Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 film, and for many this remake is completely unnecessary, but it's set to arrive on December 25 nonetheless. One week after Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, which is to say... we'll see how this turns out. This updated version will follow a similar premise as the first as a young FBI agent, Johnny Utah (Bracey), infiltrates a cunning team of thrill seeking elite athletes, led by the charismatic Bodhi (Ramirez). The athletes are suspected of carrying out a string...

After almost 6 years, Kenny Glasgow will be leaving Art Department. The Canadian producers began making music back in 2009 and have since gone on to become hugely influential in the underground Edm scene.
Consisting of Glasgow and Johnny White, Art Department will still be making appearances at all of the scheduled festivals that they’ve committed to, meaning that you can still catch them at Edc New York, Movement Detroit, Groovefest, etc. After they’re done with their current commitments, though, Glasgow will be leaving White to pursue a solo career while White continues on as Art Department.
“Kenny has nearly completed his own solo body of work that I really believe in, and he should by all means pursue those goals. Of course Art Department is not the same Art Department without Kenny, that’s something that can not be duplicated. It will take a new shape, but this is...

Earlier today, Insomniac posted a mysterious tease on their Edc Las Vegas Instagram account. Said tease was a video of Dutch producer/DJ Oliver Heldens dancing around on stage accompanied by the question, “Do you Edc?”
With Edc New York right around the corner, this could mean that he’s being added to the lineup as a late addition. However, seeing as the entire lineup has already been revealed, it’s not likely that there would be any changes this close to the festival. Once a lineup is complete, it’s usually set in stone. It’s not often you see unannounced artists being added to an already complete lineup.
So, what could the tease be hinting at? More than likely it’s a sign that Heldens with be playing at Edc Las Vegas. That being said, Insomniac didn’t drop the full lineup for the fest until the end of May last year,...

Mysteryland 2015 isn’t so mysterious anymore, as ID&T have released phase 1 of their eclectic lineup today, and it’s absolutely huge. Bringing in Alesso, Dillon Francis, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Steve Angello, Nicky Romero and more to headline, along with stages hosted by Size and Spinnin’ Records, it looks like the Netherlands is going to be the place to be during the end of August (the 29th and 30th, to be exact).
“We are so happy that we can offer our visitors a two-day program,” says Duncan Stutterheim, founder of ID&T. “Not only can they party longer, but most of all, they have more time to explore the wide variety of music, arts and culture on offer. Besides, we are proud that we can give a platform to so many talents, artists and creative.”

Edc Las Vegas isn’t until June, and in typical Insomniac fashion, the lineup won’t be announced for at least another couple of months. The company is known for not unleashing their lineups until much closer to the event, and Electric Daisy Carnival is no different.
That being said, it appears as if someone let the cat out of the bag, as Art Department have announced their Spring Tour dates and on the docket is a stop in Las Vegas. Not only that, but they also revealed that they will be at Edc New York and Tomorrowland Brasil, despite those festivals not announcing their lineups yet, either.
Even without any official word from Insomniac, there’s no reason to doubt the DJs’ tour schedule. They’ve played at Edc Las Vegas in the past and their popularity has only grown in the past year or so. The only question that remains now,...

Art Department veteran and UK filmmaker Melanie Light is gearing up to unleash The Herd. With harsh shorts like Escape behind her, the director has crafted something even darker here, a sordid parable with overt vegan and feminist themes, and starring The Woman and Let Us Prey’s Pollyanna McIntosh. While Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival UK may only be a one day event, they certainly aren’t slouching when it comes to the lineup.
Released today was the official roster for the summer festival and with headliners like Hardwell, Steve Aoki and Tiësto, you may want to consider making a trip to the UK on July 11th.
Of course, the list of artists doesn’t end with the aforementioned three DJs. Also making appearances will be Art Department, Ilan Bluestone (!), Carnage, Cosmic Gate and many more. While it’s a bit of a different lineup than we’re used to seeing from some of the festival’s other outings, particularly Las Vegas and New York, it’s an interesting mix of mainstream and underground acts that will surely offer up something exciting for those who are in attendance.

In just one short year, Coda has cemented itself as one of Toronto’s hottest nightclubs, and for good reason. Whether it’s the large dance floor, always happy crowd, never ending beats or just the general atmosphere in there on any given night, Coda is always a good time, and has attracted quite a loyal following here in the city.
This past weekend, the nightclub celebrated its one year anniversary, bringing out a wide range of artists over two nights to commemorate the occasion. Unfortunately, we were only able to attend on Friday, but it was certainly a memorable affair, as Art Department (in addition to a few openers) took the stage to spin a dark and groovy set of music that left a smile on the face of almost everyone in the venue.
Seeing as the hometown DJs opened Coda last year, it was only fitting that they returned for its anniversary party.

After Tomorrowland announced that it would be introducing an opera stage at the festival this year, Ultra has made a similarly surprising reveal in the form of Resistance.
Described by the organizers as “an urge to go against the grain, to step out of the box and to move away from the norm and challenge yourself to experience something new,” Resistance will be a new stage at the festival dedicated to shining a light on more underground DJs, featuring artists like Art Department, Jamie Jones, Guy Gerber, and many more.
Further details on Resistance are still under wraps, but it’s clear that Ultra has something exciting in store for those who have tired of main stage music, and we’re definitely looking forward to seeing how this all plays out come March.

This weekend, Coda Toronto will celebrate their 1 year anniversary and they’ll be doing so in style. Friday will see Art Department take the stage along with Jonathan Lee, My Favorite Robot and Night Vision. Saturday boasts an equally impressive lineup, with Loco Dice, Robert Dietz, Jonathan Rosa and Chris Larson all set to spin throughout the night.
Originally known as Footwork, the after hours club has quickly made a name for itself as one of the city’s hot spots for those who like to party long into the night, and seeing as they’ve boasted memorable shows with artists like Solomun, Marco Plex, Skream, Dubfire and more over the past year, it’s not hard to see why. With a top-of-the-line sound system, a great crowd and fantastic DJs every week, it’s quickly become a go-to spot for many Edm fans.
