Right after Mr Robot’s cold opening, in which we discover Philip Price contracted All Safe’s services because of Angela’s nice smile, something amazing happens. Yes, something more amazing than Tyrell Wellick’s English-speaking accent adjustment in the following three years.
Elliot “wakes up” to find himself standing in front of his mirror and Mr Robot having carved “They own the FBI” into it. “What did Mr Robot do last night?” he asks us. And here’s the amazing part: Mr. Robot immediately shows us.

With a possible indictment looming in New York and separate investigations under way in Los Angeles and London, legal experts are weighing in what it will take for Harvey Weinstein to be criminally charged — and whether he could go to prison.
The disgraced movie mogul, 65, who is currently in treatment in Arizona, has been accused of sexual misconduct by over 50 women since The New York Times and The New Yorker documented his decades of alleged sexual misconduct and assault.
A spokesperson for Weinstein previously told People in a statement, “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.

Over the course of “Mr. Robot’s” run, composer Mac Quayle has done a pretty effective job creating an eerie and ethereal (etheerieal?) backdrop to one man’s psychological self-sabotage. The ongoing trials of Elliot Alderson have been underscored by electronic-heavy instrumentals, highlighting the character in moments of triumph and moments of despair (more on that later).
As good as Quayle has been, the series has also benefited from a finely curated set of musical moments, with some of the most memorable “Mr. Robot” sequences bolstered by an impeccable soundtrack selected by music supervisors Amie Bond and Charlie Haggard. Some of these have been the numerous string of classical favorites used to set up Tyrell Wellick in various stages of upper-class crises. Others have drawn on electronic music icons that have influenced the show in more ways than one.

He may be overweight, but Mr. Handsome’s furry love handles didn’t get in the way of his finding a fur-ever home. On the contrary, those extra pounds of pussycat created a feline frenzy.
Originally reported by Wncn North Carolina, the hefty kitty was dumped at the Chatham County Animal Shelter by previous owners, possibly because of his size.
In fact, Mr. Handsome — weighing in at 31.4 lbs. — was so large, he could not fit into the standard crate at the shelter. Instead, the big fellow was set up inside the building’s break room and he made himself snug inside a cabinet.

When he’s done coughing up blood and writhing in agony, Ghost may appreciate the irony at work in Power‘s Season 4 premiere.
After all, the drug kingpin murders with impunity, then gets thrown behind bars for the one killing he didn’t commit? It’s poetic. It’s a comeuppance. It’s… kind of an ish-show for pretty much all the characters we’ve come to know over the past three seasons.
And how, exactly, does James St. Patrick fare once he dons the jumpsuit? What about Tasha? Tommy?...

Throughout The Office's nine-season run, Pam and Dwight had an unusual friendship -- to say the least. The unlikely duo was there for each other in times of need, including when Pam broke down after her troubles with Jim and when Dwight had a secret affair with Angela. While Dwight and boss Michael Scott had a Bff relationship throughout the series, it was in the season finale that the Schrute Farms owner called "office administrator Pamela Beesley Halpert" his "best friend."

Bones said goodbye after 12 seasons on Tuesday night, with a series finale that paid tribute to the brilliant mind of Dr. Temperance Brennan, by showing what life would be like without it.
In the aftermath of the bombing at the Jeffersonian, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) thankfully survives -- as do Booth (David Boreanaz), Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Angela (Michaela Conlin) -- but she knows immediately that something’s wrong. Unable to remember what she was doing prior to the explosion or recall what the team was working on, Brennan tearfully insists to Booth that “something is wrong with me.”
And she’s right. Once the foursome escapes the rubble of the Medico-Legal Lab, Cam (Tamara Taylor) informs the forensic anthropologist that she has a contusion on her corpus callosum, the nerves that join the two hemispheres of the brain. Essentially, the brilliant scientist has lost her ability to process complex information, a devastating...

People forget that before 9/11 our idea of a terrorist was a lone wolf type: domestic white Neo Nazis with agendas that warped their intellect into working towards creating chaos to spark a cleansing. It’s therefore interesting to look at the constituency of Donald Trump, a candidate running on a ticket that not only incites race wars but also ensures white Catholics’ safety becomes synonymous with the “nation’s safety.” I guess the idea posed in The Turner Diaries may have been proven correct as each subsequent attack by locals, foreign agents, or both has brought us to this juncture in time. Fear and paranoia has set in, our sights focused on the “other” rather than ourselves. It’s a landscape ripe for a battle to destroy us all.

Spoiler-free Review: ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 2 Stays True to Its Weird Self
Last year, the debut season of “Mr. Robot” dominated the television conversation, but serialized television is still a “what have you done for me lately?” enterprise, and a great beginning only leads to heightened expectations for season two. The two-hour premiere does a brisk job of re-setting the pieces on the board and introducing new ones. Eliot, still missing three days of memory during which the Five/Nine hack shook the world’s financial stability, has gone home to live with his mother; he stays away from all computers and lives a strictly regimented life that is designed to keep Mr. Robot from causing any more trouble. Darlene is running fsociety actions, although she despairs that they’re only making things worse. Angela is ensconced in her new Evil Corp PR job, although it seems to be killing her soul.

It made sense that we got the buddy cop film Ride Along (2014) starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. A film for them to work off such different personalities; they always seemed like a perfect duo. Coming from director Tim Story, who should be most remembered for making one of the few misses in the Marvel Universal with Fantastic Four (2004), Ride Along was such an unoriginal ride that it wasted both Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. Not much has changed in Ride Along 2.
Even with issues in their careers, actors Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are talented. Ice Cube came to fame due to his hip hop group N.W.A in the late 1980s to early 1990s and in his feature film Boyz N the Hood; both things ahead of their time and so accurate on predicting the escalation in police brutality. For someone who started in the music industry,...

The Final Girls was recently released to theaters and VOD, and is available today on Blu-ray and DVD. For those that are interested in what went on behind-the-scenes, I recently caught up with director Todd Strauss-Schulson to talk about the movie's evolution before he got behind the camera, improv comedy on set, building the camp for the movie, and much more:
Can you talk a little bit about how this script came about, what it took to bring it to the screen and what changes you made?
Todd Strauss-Schulson: I was editing my first movie and thinking about what I would do second. These guys I went to college with, Mark Fortin and Josh Miller, are these really cool writers. They're big horror fans—Mark especially is really deep, deep into horror stuff—and had written a script.
Eight years prior to this, we went to college together in L.

Music and Sex: Scenes from a life - A novel in progress (first chapter here).
Walter got a call from Tony about getting together and, while they were chatting, complained about the guitarist situation.
"Hey, I know a guy who wants to be in a band. He's been bitching about everybody here playing guitar so there aren't enough bands to go around. You should talk to him."
Walter did so within minutes of getting the guy's phone number. Albert Imperatori, or as he styled himself, Emperor Albert, listened to Walter's explanation of what the band was aiming for, and its repertoire, and said, "I'm in. Better have a rehearsal tonight if you've got a gig tomorrow, right?"
They did, everything went well enough and without drama, and with Paulie out of the way, they could play the songs he refused to play, so their set got longer. Suddenly, magically, it...

Out in limited release and available on VOD is the horror comedy with a fantasy twist, The Final Girls. From director Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas), the film follows young Max (Taissa Farmiga) a year after her scream-queen mother (Malin Akerman) dies. When her cinephile friend invites her out to a celebratory screening of the film she was most famous for, Max and her group of friends are transported to the actual reality of the 80s horror slasher. Once there the group must find a way to survive the relentless, murdering Billy. That’s a lot of setup and yet the The Final Girls manages to be quite smooth and smart in the way things are laid out. While the film mostly plays for laughs instead of horror, there are some more interesting aspects working at the core of the film when it comes to Max and her...

Good detective shows focus themselves around a likeable character who always wins in the end. Police Chief Soneri may not be the best known detective on television, but Fog and Crimes: The Complete Third Season proves he deserves to be more recognised as one of the greats.
In the third and final season of the show based on the novels by Valerio Varesi we see changes in Soneri’s (Luca Barbareschi) life and his career. Still as stubborn as ever, in this final season the cases become much more personal, with both his past and present endeavours leading him into danger.
Fog and Crimes has always been four to six feature-length episodes which are nicely paced to be watched separately, and not in the “binge” style we do so often these days. In this final season we see four, with more of a focus on Soneri’s life. This...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Girl Meets World, The Fosters, Zoo and Graceland!
1 | As much as we loved seeing Eric and Jack reunite on Girl Meets World, isn’t it weird that they didn’t know they were meeting each other? What kind of senator sets up a meeting with a potential business associate without asking for his name? (Bonus question: Lucas or Charlie?!)

Mr Robot gave us answers this week, leaving us wondering, what does it have left in store for season 2? Major spoilers ahead...
This review contains spoilers.
1.9 eps1.8_m1rr0r1ng.qt
So now we have it, proof of the theory floated by fans since episode one: Mr Robot isn’t real. He’s a construct of Elliot’s psychosis. Elliot is Mr Robot.
Contrary to expectation, having predicted the twist didn’t dilute its dramatic impact. That was largely thanks to Rami Malek, whose performance sold Elliot’s desperate disorientation with utter conviction. Props have to go to Christian Slater too, and moreover to whomever cast him in this part. I can’t think of a better choice to play a middle-aged malcontent lunatic hacker projected from the mind of his malcontent lunatic hacker son. Kudos.
It also helped that we were still reeling from the end of last week’s episode,...

You don’t dive into Disney Channel’s Teen Beach 2 expecting to have your mind blown, so by the time the final twist is introduced, it’s too late to prepare yourself.

Question: Teen Wolf? Any information? —Sandi
Ausiello: A vague question gets a vague answer, Sandi. While I’m sure you’re still reeling from Aiden’s return in the first six minutes of the June 29 premiere — click here to watch that if you haven’t already done so — you’ll be happy to know he’s not the only member of the show’s fallen faction that receives a tribute of sorts in Season 5’s opening hour.
