Mark Ayabei is a Kenyan cinematographer, director and producer, best known for his work on Rush, XYZ and Clench.
He graduated from the prestigious Mohammed Amin Foundation and has since worked on music videos, commercials, documentaries, short films, Tv-series, and feature films. His portfolio features award-winning shows including Rush Tv-series and Ogas at the Top, which were nominated for four awards at the Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards (2015). His short films and documentaries have also been nominated for and won awards in Africa, Europe, and the USA
In his first feature film, 'The Fifth Estate' produced by DreamWorks, and directed by Academy award winner Bill Condon featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark worked in the Camera and Electric Department (2013)
His other projects include Stori Yangu on Maisha Magic East, the Women in Media documentary for Black History month NY which featured Lucy Chodota, Ava DuVernay, Trace Taylor, Sharon Lewis, and Paula Mardison as the host, and KPMG 70th anniversary documentary.
Mark believes Africa has always been the future and has great potential with rich stories deep in our cultures and through filmmaking, he is able to archive and share them with the world.
