April is an award-winning screenwriter, television writer, producer, playwright, and professor from Washington, DC. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from George Mason University, then earned an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. April worked in development at Team Downey, then at Warner Bros., ABC Studios, and CBS Studios, where she became a freelance writer for the hit series Scorpion. She wrote and developed four original TV series with Archie Comics, Two Shakes Entertainment, Lucid Road, and Tornante, then penned and produced a five-time internationally-awarded short film with talent from Marvel, Netflix, Hulu, and Starz. Nine of her plays have been produced in DC, including a critically-acclaimed production at the Capital Fringe Festival, and she is a professor of theater at GMU. Her mission is to turn trauma into drama and speak for the silenced.
