It took till season 9 of “The Masked Singer” but we’ve finally got a costume that features five performers: the California Roll. They took to the stage on March 1 to deliver a soaring cover of the hit “Paparazzi” by Lady Gaga. After Polar Bear lost the audience vote and was revealed to be rapper Grandmaster Flash, California Roll was pitted in a Battle Royale with Medusa.
Each put their own spin on the classic tune “Uptown Girl” by Billie Joel. Medusa delivered a traditional take on the tune while California Roll turned it into a haunting ballad. After Medusa won the vote, we thought this was the last we’d see of California Roll but Nicole Scherzinger sounded the Ding Dong bell and saved them.
We’ve been rewatching both of these performances and have all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the answer to the question, “Who is California...

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including NCIS: La, Ray Donovan, Arrow and New Amsterdam!
1 | Audi really doesn’t want their Q7 ID’d on NCIS: La, do they? (Or is it they won’t pay for the plug?) Also, hiring Deeks’ mom as bartender pretty much sets the stage for a sitcom spinoff, right?

Kristin Chenoweth remembers the day Ariana Grande came to see the original Broadway production of “Wicked.” Adam Lambert fondly recalls playing the role of Fiyero in the touring production before “American Idol” made him a star.
Original cast members and first-wave fans of the smash Broadway musical “Wicked” have come together for a salute to the tuner’s 15th anniversary on Broadway, set to air Oct. 29 as an hourlong special on NBC.

It's been five months since Avi Kaplan, the founding bass singer of Pentatonix, decided to step away from the popular a cappella group. The Pentatonix YouTube channel, which has more than 13 million subscribers, has been quiet since then, but with the holiday season fast approaching, the musical quintet has now added a new member to its ranks. Matt Sallee will join Pentatonix as its bass voice for both an upcoming wintertime tour and a new album called A Pentatonix Christmas Deluxe.
Sallee, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, will take over Kaplan's position in the lowest register of Pentatonix's range. The group, whose other members are Kirstie Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, Scott Hoying, and Mitch Grassi, welcomed its new addition into the fold with an Instagram post. "We love Matt and we think you’ll love him too," it reads.

This holiday season, a cappella group Pentatonix offered up A Pentatonix Christmas, which serves as their second album of Yuletide songs. This time, in support of their effort to mission to spread holiday cheer, they took to YouTube to share a unique offering with their fans. A partnership between Sony Music Originals and Lego has resulted in a Lego-fied, 360-degree music video for Pentatonix’s cover of the 150-year-old Christmas song “Up On The Housetop.”
To create the video, Sony (which is partnered with Pentatonix through its RCA Records label) turned to the Lego Group in search of an animated makeover for its a cappella all stars. The toy company obliged, creating versions of band members Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, and Kevin “K.O.” Olusola using its iconic toys as models.

Thanks to the popularity of its latest album, Pentatonix has added another feather to its cap. The a cappella group from Dallas, best known for its YouTube channel, has reached the top of the Billboard 200 with its 12-day-old, self-titled effort.

In contrast to the group’s previous albums, which feature a majority of cover songs, almost all of the tracks on Pentatonix are original songs. In 2015, a cappella group Pentatonix sold out theaters across the nation during a North American tour. Along the way, the musical quintet from Dallas chronicled its journey through a documentary film called On My Way Home, which will soon become available for the group’s fans. On June 18th, the Pentatonix tour doc will arrive on Vimeo’s on demand service.
On My Way Home includes footage from Pentatonix’s tour and features insights from the group’s five members: Scott Hoying, Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado, Kevin Olusola, and Mitch Grassi. The film, which is currently available for preorder, costs $14.99.
Vimeo On Demand has emerged as a suitable hub for YouTube stars looking to bring recent tour footage to their fans. Philip DeFranco also used the premium video platform to distribute a digital version of his “DeFranco Does La” live event.
June will be a particularly busy month for concert documentaries on Vimeo On Demand.

Just last month, YouTube a cappella sensation Pentatonix won a Grammy for their mash-up of Daft Punk songs. Now the quintet is on tour across America, but as is the case with most live events, not all fans can attend in person. Yahoo is rectifying this problem by digitally bringing one of Pentatonix’s upcoming concerts to fans through a live stream on March 15, 2015.
Pentatonix, which consists of members Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstie Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, and Kevin Olusola, will be performing at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut. Yahoo’s live stream will be broadcast live from the theater for all U.S. fans to watch online. The Pentatonix stream will be hosted on Yahoo Screen via the Live Nation channel.

During last night's Grammys, YouTube's most popular musical quintet took home their most prestigious award to date. Pentatonix, whose a cappella videos have gathered 7.5 million subscribers and 832 million views online, earned a Grammy win for their mash-up of Daft Punk songs.
Pentatonix's Grammy win came in the Best Instrumental or A Cappella Arrangement category, where they beat out four jazz artists. Video of the ensuing acceptance speech is available via CBS' YouTube channel:
After the show, Pentatonix--which consists of members Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstie Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, and Kevin Olusola--chatted with fellow YouTube content creator Tyler Oakley, who conducted interviews as one of CBS' Grammy correspondents. Oakley described himself as Pentatonix's "original fan" and claimed to have re-blogged their videos "forever."

One of the world's best a capella groups, Pentatonix, released their massively successful holiday album and only Et's Brooke Anderson was behind the scenes for the making of their original Christmas video.
After winning NBC's The Sing-Off competition in 2011, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstie Maldonado, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola sky rocketed to fame and then got to work spending an immense amount of time recording in the studio and performing in arenas.

All that hard work has clearly paid off as their holiday album, That's Christmas to Me, has gone platinum and surpassed Beyonce to become the fourth best-selling album of 2014. The group also received their first Grammy nomination for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella for their Daft Punk melody.
And if they weren't hot enough, they were asked to perform on The Kennedy Center Honors, airing Dec. 30 on CBS, where they sang "That Thing You Do" for...

It seems there’s nothing YouTube a cappella group Pentatonix can’t accomplish. The Arlington, Texas-based singers with over 7 million subscribers saw their album That’s Christmas to Me reach the #1 spot on iTunes, even passing up Taylor Swift’s 1989. Pentatonix, consisting of members Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan, Kirstie Maldonado, and Kevin Olusola, released That’s Christmas to Me on October 21, 2014 through RCA Records. The album sold almost 100,000 copies in the U.S. within its first week, and managed to snag the #1 spot on Billboard’s U.S. Digital Albums chart and the Top Holiday Albums chart (where it sat for over six weeks). The Wall Street Journal reports Pentatonix’s That’s Christmas to Me also managed to hit #1 on iTunes a few weeks ago, making the band one of very few performers who can claim the ranking victory -- however short -- over Taylor Swift (she...

Pentatonix's That's Christmas to Me is the bestselling holiday album of the season. The title track on the album is an original Christmas song and Et got to spend an entire day -- and night -- with the group as they shot the video.

With all that time together, Et's Brooke Anderson was curious if they ever got into tiffs.

"Absolutely," Hoying said when asked if they ever got annoyed with each other. "It's like a family. Like when you bicker with your sister. It's the same thing."
Hoying went on to reveal that because they've learned when to walk away, none of their disagreements end in big blowups.
