Tamara Powell hails from Gary, Indiana and is best known as an R&B/Soul singer & member of the duo "Trina & Tamara". They are the sisters of R&B/Soul singer Jesse Powell. Their self-titled album yielded the R&B hits "Why'd You Come Here For?" and "Joanne." They were former members of the R&B group, Somethin' For The People with whom they also scored a Platinum hit with "My Love Is the Shhh...."
Tamara then branched out as a Staff Writer for EMI Music Publishing and is now a much sought after Vocal Producer. Music credits include Dr. Dre', Boys to Men, Fantasia, Kanye West, John Legend, Eminem, Will Smith, Lauryn Hill, Jermaine Dupri and numerous others.
In 2007, she received Grammy recognition for her collaborative effort for "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" with John Legend, Joss Stone & Van Hunt for "Family Affair".
Tamara now works as a Content Development Executive. She also facilitates funding and spearheads branding campaigns.
