A 23-year-old Indiana man will be spending the next 60 years behind bars following his confession this week that he kidnapped, sexually assaulted and murdered a toddler last March, People confirms.
On Monday, under the terms of a plea deal, Kyle Parker admitted to abducting and strangling 1-year-old Shaylyn Ammerman on March 22, 2016.
Court records indicate that he pleaded guilty to single counts of kidnapping and murder.

A funeral was held Wednesday evening for the 15-month-old Indiana girl who was brutally raped and smothered to death last week. The grandmother of slain toddler Shaylyn Ammerman is speaking out this week about the 22-year-old man who has been charged with allegedly raping and suffocating the 1-year-old Indiana girl after he kidnapped from her crib. "He is pure evil," Shaylyn's grandmother, Tamara Morgan, tells People, before characterizing Kyle Parker as "a friend of a friend" of one of her sons, Adam Ammerman - Shaylyn's uncle. "If you were ever around Kyle, you would not have thought him capable of something like this," Morgan explains. "There were no signs, no nothing. He was polite.
