Chinese manufacturing company Anhui Xinke New Materials has pulled out of its $350m deal to buy Voltage Pictures, the Hollywood production and sales firm behind Oscar-winning films The Hurt Locker and Dallas Buyers Club.
The Chinese outfit, best known for running a copper-processing business, was set to take an 80% deal in Midnight Investments, the holding company behind Nicolas Chartier’s Voltage Pictures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the firm said in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Wednesday that it had cancelled the deal because Midnight Investments had not supplied the necessary documentation required by regulators.
“We have commissioned other agencies to communicate with the trading party (Midnight Investments) via email and other means,” the statement read. “But we still haven’t received the required documents, which has caused us to delay replying to the Shanghai Stock Exchange on three occasions. Hong Kong.s quasi-historical/biographical action film series Ip Man is about to get what would have to be considered the most unlikely of supporting stars. That.s because it.s being reported that notorious boxing legend, Mike Tyson will join the cast of the upcoming third film in the series alongside star Donnie Yen. Yet, as peculiar as that sounds, the casting only gets even odder. Apparently, Tyson and Yen will be joined by a third wheel who has transcended this mortal coil in Bruce Lee. Yes, that Bruce Lee. But at the same time. not. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ip Man series producer Raymond Wong confirms that former boxing champ Mike Tyson will jump on board the upcoming Ip Man 3 for a "significant role" that could likely lead to an "explosive" fight between Tyson and Donnie Yen that will pit the discipline of boxing against kung-fu. However,...

Well i did not see this one coming, Iron Mike Tyson (Probably the meanest Boxer ever) is to play the role as a street fighter/property developer in the 3rd installment of the Ip Man series.
“Two years ago Mike Tyson opened up a Weibo (the Chinese micro-blogging site) account and the first question he asked was, ‘who is the best fighter in China?’” Pegasus chairman and Ip Man 3 producer Raymond Wong told THR. “Someone answered him ‘Donnie Yen,’ and that gave me an idea. For the third installment in the Ip Man series, we want to have an explosive fight, and Mike Tyson versus Donnie Yen fits the bill.”
Tyson said in a statement: “Who is the best boxer and kung fu master in China? Wait for me, I am coming. Thank you for introducing me to Chinese kung fu.” – Hollywood reporter.
