M was born in Beeville, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin. While there she also studied psychology and Classics. She was part of the Shakespeare at Winedale program and interned on the set of "Hope Floats" as an assistant to producer Lynda Obst.
M earned a Master of Arts from Emerson College. She worked for Houghton Mifflin and then Pearson Education before returning to writing. Her first play "Warm Bodies" was produced as part of the Source Festival in Washington D.C. in 2012 and later made into the short film "Adverse Possession" by Lavender/Hassan Productions. A scripted version of her novella "St. Peter in Chains" won Table Read My Screenplay and was given a professional table read at Sundance Film Festival in January 2013.
M lives in Livermore, California.
