Nathan Dean as Max Evans and Jeanine Mason as Liz Ortecho in ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ season 4 episode 13
The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season four episode 13 serves as both the season and series finale. Picking up seconds after the end of episode 12, “How It’s Going to Be“ begins with Clyde easily stopping Isobel and Max’s attack. Rosa (Amber Midthunder) concentrates on tuning in on Clyde’s frequency and manages to free herself from his restraint.
Rosa surprises Clyde by smashing him over the head with a board, which gives Max (Nathan Dean) time to prepare to use the blue flame. Unfortunately, Clyde also uses the flame and knocks everyone over before kidnapping Rosa and escaping in a car.
The #PodSquad discuss their next move and Bonnie suggests they need to destroy the portal before Clyde can use it. Michael (Michael Vlamis) thinks they should hold off on that drastic move and Max agrees.

Jeanine Mason as Liz Ortecho in ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ season 4 episode 12
The CW’s Roswell, New Mexico season four episode 12 is both the season and the series’ penultimate episode. Episode 11 ended with Clyde offering Shivani help bringing back her daughter, and episode 12 reveals she took him up on the offer.
Liz (Jeanine Mason), who’s still struggling with her addiction to the mist, concocts a new version of the mist that will return Max’s powers in just an hour. Max (Nathan Dean) explains he and Isobel discovered Shivani packed up her lab (including the pods) but left behind remnants of a formula on a board. Liz doesn’t recognize it and Max thinks it came from Clyde. Liz believes this mysterious formula might be used to remove Clyde’s brand. They realize Clyde’s got his powers back since the lab was full of mist.

Roswell, New Mexico star Michael Trevino is stepping behind the camera for what he’s calling “the Avengers assembling to come together for one common goal” episode of the series. In August 8’s “Wild Wild West,” it’s up to everyone to save Liz (Jeanine Mason) after Shivani (Rehka Sharma) exposed her to the alien-power mist. As a result, Liz ends up in a mindscape set in the wild, wild west, and it soon becomes not just about saving her, but Max (Nathan Dean) as well. Trevino previews the episode (including Shiri Appleby’s appearance), talks about directing, and teases how it will all end for Kyle and his relationship with Isobel (Lily Cowles). What made this episode the right one for your TV directing debut? You did a short [Two Roads] previously. Michael Trevino: I did. I did a short film after Season 3. I’ve been shadowing all the directors on our series since the pilot,...

Lily Cowles is truly a delight to interview.
It's always amazing to speak with an actress with great insight into their character's story. It makes for such a fun and captivating conversation, and this was nothing short of a fantastic chat. I only wished we could have talked for even longer!
Isobel Evans's story has truly evolved from Roswell, New Mexico Season 1. Lily spoke about that evolution, her burgeoning relationship with Kyle, and how she hopes this series about aliens making their way in the world will be remembered in the long run.
Isobel's character arc from the pilot to where we find her in Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 has been one for the ages. Isobel has grown exponentially as she's put her life back together after Noah and has seemed to find herself the longer the series has gone on.
And this growth has been a highlight for me throughout the series run,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 Episode 5 “You Get What You Give.”] It was only a matter of time before something happened between Isobel (Lily Cowles) and Kyle (Michael Trevino), given their chemistry. And in the latest episode of Roswell, New Mexico, something did. Following a painful end to her relationship with Anatsa (Sibongile Mlambo), Isobel followed Kyle to Mexico as everyone continues to investigate the new aliens. There, they not only found a lead (they’re on track to find Shiri Appleby’s Allie!) but also share a dance that leads to a kiss! Cowles breaks down that big moment and teases what’s ahead, including how the series will end for Isobel. Let’s talk about that kiss. There are moments leading up to it in previous episodes, yes, but just in this episode — there’s his reaction to her hand on his shoulder, then the dance. How does Isobel feel about Kyle? ...

After weeks of pining over Isobel Evans, Kyle Valenti finally got the girl on this week’s episode of “Roswell, New Mexico.” Well, he got to kiss her at least. Series star Lily Cowles is staying tight-lipped on what comes next for them, but she’s pretty hopeful.
Of course, Isobel did just go through a pretty rough break-up. After finally mustering up the courage to let Anatsa in on her alien secret, it was Anatsa herself who turned Isobel away. It’s not that she didn’t love Isobel, it’s just that she didn’t believe true love should be so complicated and full of secrets. Not that Cowles faults Isobel for keeping that secret.
“It’s so complicated because it’s not just about her safety, it’s about the safety of her brothers too,” Cowles told TheWrap. “And we know that she will do anything to protect them.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 premiere “Steal My Sunshine.”] There’s a new trio of aliens in Roswell, and while we have no idea what they’re up to — including why two robbed a bank or why the sky has turned purple — this can’t be anything good. Elsewhere in the Roswell, New Mexico Season 4 premiere, Max (Nathan Dean) planned to propose to Liz (Jeanine Mason), only for her to ask him to wait since she felt like the other shoe was about to drop. Fans of Roswell, New Mexico, were given some bad news last week.
The sci-fi reboot has been canceled after four seasons.
The good news?
We still have an entire season to watch before the residents of the alien-filled town say goodbye for good.
The CW dropped the official trailer this week, and it teases the coming events in a big way.
While the show isn't getting a pre-planned conclusion, the ending is supposed to be satisfying enough for longtime fans.
“Mark Pedowitz [and] his team at The CW had the class [and] grace to warn the shows that they might not survive, even if The CW wanted them,” executive producer Julie Plec tweeted of Roswell and Legacies over the weekend.
“Because of that, the season finales of both shows were carefully crafted to also work as series finales.”

Getting a chance to talk with Lily Cowles was an absolute joy.
Isobel Evans-Bracken has had an incredible journey throughout the first three seasons of Roswell, New Mexico. And Lily speaks about her with so much candor and love.
We got to talk about everything from the incredible stunt work this season to her thoughts on the new alien and what awaits us in the final episodes of Roswell, New Mexico Season 3.
Hi Whitney.
Hi Lily, how are you?
I'm well, how are you doing?
I'm doing great, thank you.

Nathan Dean will be pulling double duty in Roswell, New Mexico Season 3. The CW on Tuesday released the first trailer for the sextraterrestrial drama’s July 26 return (8/7c), giving us another — albeit extremely brief — look at Max’s mysterious look-alike.
As patient fans will recall, we first met this bearded “stowaway” in the final moments of the Season 2 finale, which aired more than a year ago.

Exclusive: Bones alum Michael Grant Terry and Gillian Vigman (Life Sentence) are set for recurring roles on the upcoming third season of the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico.
Written by Carina Adly MacKenzie and directed by Julie Plec, the reimagined Roswell, like the original, is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz.
Terry will play Jordan, the son of Roswell’s Mayor Bernhardt, a privileged young man who blames his failure to measure up to his parents’ high expectations on the influx of immigrants and people of color in his community. As the leader of a grassroots group dedicated to preserving the status quo in Roswell, Jordan will go toe to toe with our heroes as racial tensions in town bubble to the surface.
Vigman will play Roswell’s diligent new Sheriff Brooke Taylor, a tough yet charismatic officer elected on a mandate of law and order.

Antebellum is the debut feature-length film by writer/director duo Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz. In the film, they aim to explore what happens when the past, present, and future collide in a time where activism against injustice is prevalent. And it comes from one of the producers of the successful thriller, Get Out, which seems to be a regular announcement made among horror and thriller films these days. When you see those words pop up on the screen, expect a movie with a strong social message. It’s like woke cinema is its own genre now.
But a film that focuses on beating its themes to death is rarely entertaining, and such is the case with Antebellum, an aimless movie with no purpose other than shock value. What’s the purpose of displaying such overt brutality without reprieve? Does the film need to revel in disturbing imagery to tell us something we already know?...

As box offices start to test the waters, Roger Michell’s family drama Blackbird starring Susan Sarandon is set to open in theaters and on demand starting today.
Known for My Cousin Rachel and Notting Hill, Michell directs a script by Christian Torpe, who wrote the 2014 Danish film, Silent Heart on which the family drama is based. In it, Sarandon plays Lily who, along with Paul (Sam Neil) invite their loved ones to their beach house for one final gathering after Lily decides to end her long battle with Als on her own terms. The weekend starts as a loving weekend with holiday tradition but as things unfold, unresolved issues between Lily and her daughters Jennifer (Kate Winslet) and Anna (Mia Wasikowska) come into the forefront. Rainn Wilson, Lindsay Duncan, Bex Taylor-Klaus and Anson Boon join the all-star roster in this ensemble drama.

For the team behind “Antebellum,” the film couldn’t be coming at a more important moment in history, addressing America’s original sin of slavery through the lens of the horror-thriller film.
“I think this film highlights what it’s like for Black women to carry the burden of deconstructing and dismantling systemic and white supremacy on our backs — what it’s like every single day for Black women to do that, who are out in the front lines,” Monáe tells Variety.
The film, directed by first-time feature filmmakers Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, follows Monáe’s characters Veronica (a sociologist and bestselling author who focuses on the disenfranchisement of Black people) and Eden (a slave plotting her escape) as the audience learns how their paths are intertwined. The multi-hyphenate entertainer admits that she didn’t immediately jump at the opportunity to star in the film.

It’s Lily Cowles‘ Sarah who gets to say the opening text of Antebellum: “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” It’s a quote by William Faulkner around which directors Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz frame their horror film, the idea that racism is as well and truly alive as it was in the Antebellum South. For this review round-up, I’ll be talking about a trio of recent releases that include Antebellum from directors Christopher Renz and Gerard Bush, the wrestling documentary Nail in the Coffin: The Fall and Rise of Vampiro, as well as McG’s latest horror comedy, The Babysitter: Killer Queen, which recently debuted exclusively on Netflix.
Antebellum: I had such high hopes for Antebellum going into it, but there’s a very precise moment in the film where it decides to take a huge left turn, and that’s when everything, to me, fell totally and completely apart with the story. Before that, I absolutely loved the characters, the performances, the costume design, as well as some fantastic production design that was a real highlight as well, and both the pacing and a palpable sense of tension made Antebellum an enthralling experience to watch unfold.

"Whoever you were before... that's over." Lionsgate has released a final trailer for the long-awaited horror-thriller Antebellum, starring singer / actress Janelle Monáe. The studio has also announced the movie will be skipping theaters and heading straight-to-vod starting in September, after being delayed for months all summer. Better to drop it now than keep waiting. This full-length trailer is a much better look at what's going on. The synopsis only states an author "finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality & must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it's too late." From music video / advertising biz directors Gerard Bush & Christopher Renz, now making their feature debut. The full cast includes Eric Lange, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, Tongayi Chirisa, Gabourey Sidibe, Robert Aramayo, Lily Cowles, and Marque Richardson. This definitely seems like a Get Out-inspired alternate reality where powerful Black people are captured and sent back (in time?) to live as slaves.

If movie theaters are planning to reopen in select locations around the country in the next month, will there be any new movies out there left to program? In another case of another movie biting the dust, Lionsgate has decided that the best course of distribution financially for their movie Antebellum is to have the movie premiere on premium on-demand platforms on Sept. 18, as Covid-19 safety protocols currently bar New York, California and other stateside cinemas from reopening. Antebellum will not get a simultaneous theatrical release in the U.S., however, will be released in select offshore markets. The movie, directed and written by filmmakers Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, was originally intended to be an intriguing horror release for the mini-major, its first release date being April 24, before being moved to Aug. 21, and then undated recently. “While the theatrical experience will always be the heart of our business, we...

Lionsgate has removed Janelle Monáe’s upcoming horror movie “Antebellum” from the release calendar, according to an individual with knowledge of the project. The film was originally set to be released theatrically on Aug. 21.
The film’s release is currently unset. The move is not surprising given the fact that California’s movie theaters, bars, indoor restaurants, wineries and museums are currently closed due to the “alarming” spread of Covid-19.
In “Antebellum,” Monáe plays a renowned author giving a lecture about why women are the future. But she finds out her time might be up when fate chooses her to confront the reality of America’s haunting past. Split between modern times and the Civil War-era slavery period in the South, Monáe finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late. Carina Adly MacKenzie, the creator of Roswell, New Mexico, has left her position as co-showrunner of the series ahead of Season 3 due to “fundamental differences.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter story that broke the news, the decision comes after MacKenzie’s relationship with studio Warner Bros. Television has “been strained for some time,” citing a Twitter incident in which MacKenzie criticized UK distributor ITV over cutting a gay love scene from the broadcast of the show that led Warner Bros. to have to do “damage control” as a recent example. More broadly, the article states: “During her time on the show, she is said to have fostered a working environment that some say was rife with tension.”
Really, really, Really upset to hear that @itv cut out a (pretty tame) love scene between two men and kept a (much more raunchy) heterosexual sex scene in their airing of an episode of #RoswellNM tonight.

Here a reboot, there a reboot, everywhere a reboot!
In the golden age of Hollywood do-overs, it’s tough to stand out.
When the next reboot hits the screen, viewers are intrigued at first, wanting to see what new ideas have been filtered into an already established world. But many reboots don’t stick (that’s probably a discussion for some other time).
There is one reboot that’s getting it mostly right, though, and would be a delicious addition to your weekly schedule. That show is Roswell, New Mexico.
For starters, this is a re-imaging that gets it right.
It's far from an original reboot in every sense of the word. Liz and Max are there, Michael and Maria are too, but this isn’t just a high school alien story set in the famous small New Mexico town.

Lionsgate’s horror film “Antebellum” — starring Janelle Monae — will release in theaters in North America on Aug. 21.
The move is a vote of confidence that moviegoing in the U.S. will be back in full swing by the late summer. “Antebellum” had originally been set to debut on April 24, but was pulled in mid-March amid concerns about the pandemic. In the wake of the global health crisis, the studio also previously postponed Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson’s “Saw” reboot and Sarah Paulson’s “Run.”
Monae portrays a modern-day author transported back into the 19th century as a slave in the Southern United States to come face-to-face with her ancestors. The trailer’s tagline asks: “What if fate chose you to save us from our past?”
Antebellum” is directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, also known as the team of Bush and Renz. Monae’s co-stars include Marque Richardson II,...

It's been a weird season of Roswell, New Mexico so far for Max Evans (Nathan Parsons). After dying via sacrifice in the season one finale, he's been dead for months, appearing only in nightmares had by Rosa (Amber Midthunder) and hallucinations had by Isobel (Lily Cowles). Now, he's been revived, thanks to the heart of an alien enemy and a little help from the formerly dead girl he sacrificed himself for. We all knew he'd be back eventually (he's Max Evans), but it took a while, and it certainly took a toll on both Max and Nathan. "It was definitely harder than I thought it would be," Parsons tells E! News. "First couple of months of filming was sort of...

Roswell Season 2 Episode 6
Roswell really delivered on their promise with this episode, though not all fans will be happy (pour one out for the Malex stans). Well, at least the first part. Do milkshakes count as candy? Anyway, Kyle Valenti is practically the only one in town who didn’t get any, and instead he finally admitted how really feels, if only to himself, so that’s a start. Everyone else tried a bunch of new things – things that were old but felt new, things that they should have probably done a long time ago, and things they might never do ago.
After everything Jane the Virgin put us through with that Michael memory subplot in their final season, I’m so relieved that Max’s memory issues lasted the duration of only one episode. We got a cute first date, a heart-melting story about milkshakes,...

Roswell Season 2 Episode 4
The obvious theme of this episode of Roswell is all about playing God—how Max Evans did it when he killed Noah Bracken, Isobel Evans does it when she chooses to reunite Rosa Ortecho with her father to right the wrongs from so many years ago, and you could even say how Liz and Kyle are trying to go beyond the edge of science, or the way Kyle is studying surgeons at work, who if Grey’s Anatomy is to be believed, often think of themselves as Gods.
But this episode was really about family, especially how you make a family. Arturo Ortecho isn’t Rosa’s biological father, but there’s no denying the way he mourned her, or the look on his face when he saw her alive in front of him again. Some 70 years ago, Louise and Nora were hiding out and found Mr.
