Hannah Minghella is exiting her post at Bad Robot to head feature animation and live-action at Netflix.
Minghella will report to new film head Dan Lin, who recently reorganized the division to place more of an emphasis on genre. Along with Minghella, Sharon Taylor is returning to Netflix to head up production on feature animation based out of Vancouver.
Karen Toliver, who was tapped to lead film animation in 2022, and feature animation president Traci Balthazor will be leaving Netflix after launching films like Leo and Nimona.
As previously reported, the new structure will see Ori Marmur oversee action, fantasy, horror and sci-fi titles, while Kira Goldberg will handle thrillers, dramas and family films. Niija Kuykendall will oversee faith-based, young adult and holiday offerings, while Jason Young will handle comedies and rom-coms.
Minghella most recently served as film president of JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot shingle, where she worked for four years.

Exclusive: 20th Century Fox has pre-emptively acquired The Guysmaids, a comedy spec script written by Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis, and produced by Kenya Barris.
Specifics about the storyline are being kept under wraps. Barris will produce the feature through his production company, Khalabo Ink Society, as part of the label’s overall film deal with the studio. 20th Century Fox Svp of Production Jason Young will oversee the project. Barris has grown Khalabo Ink Society with the goal of establishing it as a creative collective, where collaboration is fostered and new talent can thrive, with a focus on socially conscious storytelling that reflects our culture and tackles contemporary issues and themes.
