In as much as going outside Chinatown was interesting on Warrior Season 3 Episode 6, everything good happens there, and it was good to be back.
Father Jun's life was in danger after he took a bullet in his abdomen. This turn of events had Ah Sahm feeling guilty for the role he played in it.
Father Jun's return was like a prayer answered for Young Jun, who had not been doing a good job as the Hop Wei leader since his father's departure. There was an unspoken understanding between them where Father Jun offered his counsel while Young Jun ran the tong.
And even more importantly, no matter what had transpired between them in the past, Father Jun was still Young Jun's father, and the thought of losing one's father is always scary.
Ah Sahm was climbing walls with guilt because if he'd only left well enough alone.

If you stay somewhere for too long, you might think that its problems are unique to the place.
Hop Wei, Leary, Lee, and Wang Chao left Chinatown on Warrior Season 3 Episode 6, and we saw how the world outside Chinatown functions.
And spoiler alert, it wasn't that much different. It was still a man-eat-man world out there.
Despite agreeing with Mai Ling about printing and sharing the chop, Hop Wei decided to broaden their horizons and strike a deal with some German acquittances of Father Jun.
Father Jun's return was a dividing affair as there was no telling what he might do. As it stood, Young Jun had established himself as the Hop Wei's leader, and the old guard's return might upset the existing equilibrium.
Young Jun would not have made a deal with Mai Ling if it were up to him because they were the gender-swapped version of each other,...

This article contains spoilers for Warrior season 3 episode 6.
When it comes to Bruce Lee Easter eggs, Warrior has been cunningly hiding them in plain sight.
From the first season, there were nods like the tong man named Bolo (Rich Ting), a reference to Bolo Yeung who played the villainous killer with the Herculean physique (also named Bolo) in Enter the Dragon. Similar acknowledgements permeate the series, all the way to season three where one of the locations is an ice factory, just like the setting of The Big Boss. When the lead character Ah Sahm strips down to a white wife-beater T-shirt, it evokes Bruce Lee’s bicep revealing attire in The Way of the Dragon. Keen-eyed fans of fight choreography spot quick references to Lee’s timeless action scenes. Some Warrior fight sequences contain sequences that lift directly from Lee’s films, reimagined to fit in the series. The...

Tough situations call for tough measures, even if those measures mean aligning oneself with their mortal enemy.
Mai Ling and Young Jun were arrested but ended up in different places on Warrior Season 3 Episode 5, causing them to reevaluate their business model and associates.
One thing that everyone can be sure of when arrested is that you will be taken to jail.
No one likes jail, but Young Jun would have preferred to be in prison rather than that camp. It was not only a violation of the law to lock Americans up like that, but it was also inhumane.
That's not to say that Mai Ling was fairing better in jail because it also had challenges. For someone used to the luxuries being a tong leader provided, being hosed down like a slaughterhouse's floor was demeaning.
Deeds of our past will always catch up with us, and whatever we put...

If there was a phrase that could summarize Warrior Season 3 Episode 4, it's the common, almost cliché saying, "You play with fire, you get burnt."
Many characters played with fire, and when it burned them, the pain was nothing like they had ever experienced.
The search for the fake money plates brought the cops to the doors of the Hop Wei, where they wasted no time in raining hell on the place.
It led to an eventful night for Yan Mi as she crossed more than one boundary, many of which she had never envisioned herself crossing.
Elsewhere, Mai Ling's attempts to be accepted into the wide society led her directly into police custody after she was accused of a serious crime.
The episode picked up directly after the events of Warrior Season 3 Episode 3, where Sonoma Valley was attacked at night, leading to multiple casualties.
Ah Toy decided to head...

Some shows deserve saving. After watching Warrior Season 3 premiere, the show makes an excellent case for why it deserves to be around.
It has almost been three years since its future was in the air after Cinemax stopped making scripted content, and many shows can't survive being off the air for so long.
When different platforms with different business models save shows, there are many noticeable changes in the show's creative direction, which can make or break it.
Yet, there was no noticeable change in Warrior Season 3 as it delivered the same complexly interwoven narrative, epic action sequences, stellar writing, and good music.
Watching the three-episode season premiere was a great reminder of why this show is loveable and perfectly entertaining.
Warrior Season 3 Episode 1 picked up a short while after the wild race war that plagued San Francisco in the Warrior Season 2 finale.

Midway through a sword fight in an upcoming episode of Max’s period action drama Warrior, one of the combatants loses her blade and seems on the verge of death at the hands of the man she wants revenge against. He’s so confident in his abilities, though, that he invites her to pick up her weapon and resume, smugly telling her, “You came all this way. It would be a shame to give up now.”
For a while, it seemed that the TV business had given up on Warrior.

“To hell with circumstances. I create opportunities.” Bruce Lee
Max’s Warrior began as an eight-page TV treatment by Bruce Lee which was completely rejected by the networks. Nearly a half-century later, Shannon Lee revitalized her father’s idea for development by Cinemax and enlisted noted director Justin Lin and screenwriter Jonathan Tropper to create the pilot. In 2019 Cinemax picked up Warrior for one season and its freshman outing won many accolades for its inclusivity and representation, coupled with kick ass action. Warrior was hailed as a rare homegrown tentpole series for Cinemax and got renewed for a second season.
But then in early 2020, Cinemax announced it would no longer commission original shows due to the switch to new streaming platform, HBO Max. Season two was already in the can so it was televised in late 2020. But when Director Justin Lin asked about the possibility of a third season, HBO Max...

If you like TV action, especially of the martial arts variety, one series you have to watch is the HBO Max historical action-drama "Warrior." The series is based on the writings and ideas of Bruce Lee, and it centers on Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji), who arrives in 1870s San Francisco from China in search of his sister Mai Ling (Dianne Doan). Ah Sahm joins a local tong, one of Chinatown's criminal gangs, only to discover that his sister has risen to the top of another. Between territorial rivalries between the tongs, local authorities, and an increasingly irate Irish community, there are ample opportunities for high-stakes conflict.
Koji is a charismatic lead, and the series boasts film-caliber action choreography. Season 2 wrapped up in late 2020, focusing on the San Francisco riot of 1877 and its aftermath. That conflict will inevitably shake Chinatown to its core, the stakes have never been higher, and the wait has never been longer.
