Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout Movie Review Rating:
Star Cast: Manoj Bajpayee, Prachi Desai, Parul Gulati, Sahil Vaid, Vaquar Shaikh, Ankit Bhardwaj, Dinker Sharma, Shruti Bapna, Surbhi Rohra
Director: Aban Bharucha Deohans

What’s Good: The procedural part of a crime investigation is deftly shown. This includes how the police correlate observation and thought with evidence and forensic angles. The performances are more than competent and there is a tangible atmosphere in most of the film. I also liked the unexpected turns that come at periodic intervals and the way the villain’s unrepentant character is presented.
What’s Bad: The script not only meanders in places but, more importantly, incorporates silly gaffes and flaws that could have been completely eliminated by some basic thinking. The post-climactic sequence where the cops are discussing the case jars...

New Delhi, Aug 17 (Ians) On paper, India’s T20Is against Ireland from August 18 are less significant than the Men’s Odi World Cup happening from October 5 to November 19. But the comebacks of Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna in the T20I series is an important boost for India’s fast-bowling options from the Odi World Cup perspective.
Both Bumrah and Prasidh underwent back surgeries and did their rehab at the National Cricket Academy (Nca) in Bengaluru. They played some practice games and are now almost ready to play international cricket again.
Lakshmipathy Balaji is interested in seeing how Bumrah and Prasidh perform in the upcoming T20Is against Ireland, especially with the Odi World Cup on the horizon. Balaji, the former India fast-bowler, himself had a stress fracture in the back in 2007.

New Delhi, Jan 1 (Ians) Amongst the key recommendations which have come from the senior men’s team review meeting convened by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (Bcci) in Mumbai on Sunday, the yo-yo Test and Dexa will now be a part of the selection criteria.
Apart from this, the emerging players will have to play a substantial domestic season to be eligible for selection to the national team. Bcci added that keeping in mind the Men’s Ftp and preparations for Icc Cwc 2023, the Nca will work in tandem with the Ipl Franchisees to monitor the targeted Indian players participating in the Ipl 2023.
The meeting was held ahead of the white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which begins from January 3 in Mumbai. It was in the process of being held after England thrashed India by ten wickets in the Men’s T20 World Cup semi-finals, which extended their...

There was talk about how Dravid and Rohit would nurture new, upcoming talent, and give clarity over the roles across formats to players apart from smooth transition in the Indian team. The first eight months of 2022 saw India winning bilateral series despite a few hiccups in terms of results.
They had batters who fitted in the T20 attacking mould, people who were looking to find their feet in Odi cricket and even Hardik Pandya was fit again to bring the necessary balance to the side, which was experimenting a lot with players and had captaincy duties handled by eight cricketers, partly due to hectic cricketing schedule.
Now, cut to present and it is all chaos. The experiments, which looked progressive early on, were dismantled to be back towards conservatism. When the T20 World Cup arrived, suddenly the bilateral series-winning Indian team became dependent on the exploits of Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli and Arshdeep Singh.

There was no exit interview or interaction between the employees and the company and a call or a message was all that apparently one got as an adieu.
Reverberating with the unceremonious exits of thousands of Twitter, Amazon, Meta and several other such companies, one was surprised about the dreaded pink slip that was given to all the selectors of the Indian cricket team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (Bcci) as well.
The loss in the semifinal stage of the T20 World Cup was the death knell for the wise men who failed to select the right winning squad for the prestigious tournament.
The selectors in the past have been called various names. However, two of India’s legendary cricketers, referred to them as ‘A bunch of Jokers’ and ‘Court Jesters and Lame Ducks’, which was pretty amusing at that time. Both were proven right. However,...

New Delhi, Oct 31 (Ians) After not finding a place in India’s squads for the New Zealand, Bangladesh, opener Prithvi Shaw on Monday reacted by sharing an emotional post on social media.
The 22-year-old batter has been in good form in the domestic circuit but he hasn’t been in the scheme of things for selectors and team management in the last one year or so.
He also produced brilliant performance in the 2022-23 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring 285 runs from seven matches at an average of 47.50 and a strike rate of 191.27 with one century and one half-century.
With both Rohit Sharma and Kl Rahul resting for New Zealand T20Is, fans were expecting to see Shaw back in the mix as an opener but it wasn’t the case.

Mumbai, Oct 31 (Ians) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (Bcci) on Monday announced India’s squads for the New Zealand and Bangladesh tours, which will be played following the conclusion of the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia.
India are scheduled to play three T20Is and as many ODIs starting November 18 in New Zealand, while the Bangladesh tour would kick off from December 4 with three ODIs followed by two Test matches that are part of the current World Test Championship cycle.
The squads saw some seniors players taking rest while few also got maiden India call-up. However, the non-selection of two names — Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan — in neither of the tours, raised a few questions.
After the team announcement, the Chairman of the Selection Committee Chetan Sharma addressed the media in which he cleared the air around certain players who have/haven’t been added to the squads.

Mumbai, Oct 31 (Ians) Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will make a comeback to India’s Test and Odi squads for the tour of Bangladesh in December, the chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma announced on Monday.

Chief selector Sharma mentioned that Jadeja’s inclusion in the squad is subject to his fitness test.
Meanwhile, senior players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Kl Rahul will also return for the tour of Bangladesh, after taking a break from the tour of New Zealand in November, which begins five days after the T20 World Cup final in Australia.

There were the perfectly timed drives, the inch-perfect flicks and even a stunning punch for a straight field six off Pakistan’s best bowler of the day, Haris Rauf, in the penultimate over of the day as India were chasing their opponents’ challenging total of 159 for 8 on a track that offered good bounce and carry.
Pakistan were left punch-drunk by the Indian fightback led by Kohli with a commanding 82 not out off 53 balls, inclusive of six fours and four sixes – three of which came crucially in the last two overs of the gripping contest.
Most importantly Kohi stayed till then end even as Ravichandran Ashwin calmly hit the winning single off the last ball as India completed a not-to-be-forgotten incredible victory that kick-started their campaign to regain the crown after 15 years on a memorable note in front of delirious fans who had reached the huge stadium well in advance armed...

Sharjah, Sep 8 (Ians) The back-to-back sixes smashed by his No. 10 batter Naseem Shah in the final over of the Asia Cup 2022 Super Four stage match against Afghanistan reminded Pakistan skipper Babar Azam of the last-ball six hit by the legendary Javed Miandad in the same Sharjah International Stadium a few decades back.
Pakistan, who had to win the match to put India out of contention, needed 20 off 10 balls with two wickets in hand when Naseem Shah walked out to the middle. The tailender, who had only ever faced one ball in T20Is before this, had the experienced Asif Ali at the other end and he quickly turned over the strike to his more senior teammate.
But panic set in when Ali was dismissed on the fifth ball of the penultimate over, with Naseem then deciding to take it upon himself from that point with Pakistan still requiring 13 runs to register the victory.
