Son of Dr. Danny T. Hood and Debra K. Hood. Brother of Amy E. Hood.
Kelley was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He was raised in Greenville,
Alabama; where he attended Fort Dale Academy and Greenville High
School. Kelley went on to attend Auburn University, after three years
he left school to join the US Air Force. His first year in the Air
Force was spent in Monterey, California learning to speak Korean at The
Defense Language Institute. This was followed by Loadmaster training,
Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape training for aircrew members,
and then finally assignment to his only duty station Dover Air Force
Base. While stationed in Dover he routinely flew missions throughout
Europe, Africa, and the Middle East; as a Loadmaster on the C-5 Galaxy
with the 3rd Airlift Squadron and 9th Airlift Squadron. After
completing his enlistment with a honorable discharge, Kelley T. Hood
returned to college to complete his degree in Telecommunications and
Film; this time attending Auburn's rival, The University of Alabama.
Upon graduation Kelley moved to Little Five Points in Atlanta and began
working in Television and Film.
