Raymond Banks has been locked up and certified criminally insane for the murders of four women whose bodies were brutalised and dumped in the woods, but Andrea Adams thinks the police have got it wrong and she’s taking her film crew to find out the truth. What they find there can only be told by the footage left behind. Who or what is responsible for a series of brutal killings, where the victims’ bodies have been found drained of blood in Black Water Creek?
Right you know the drill, let’s get the usual statement out of the way first. Black Water Vampire is – wait for it – a found footage flick. And as you know all too well by now, I hate (the majority of) found footage flicks… However, there are...

I don’t blame indie filmmakers for continuing to trawl the Found Footage genre. It’s a cheap way to make a movie and show off their creativity, and hey, why not offer up a decent story or two. The problem with these Found Footage movies, though, is they’re all pretty much the same thing, with a long, slow build-up capped off with a chaotic 10 or so final minutes. The trick, of course, is not to bore the viewer to death until you finally get to that payoff. That’s easier said than done. I haven’t clue if director Evan Tramel manages this with “Black Water Vampire”, but I get the feeling all that crazy shenanigans you see in the trailer? Those are probably all from the final 10 minutes or so of the movie. I could be wrong, of course. Take a gander at the trailer for “Black Water Vampire” below.

The latest found footage film is titled The Black Water Vampire. In the film, several documentarians set out to track down a killer of women. They find a vampire, instead. This title stars Danielle Lozeau (Legion), Andrea Monier and Bill Oberst Jr. The film was directed by first time director Evan Tramel, from Jesse Baget's script (Mischief Night). And now, a mysterious trailer is available for The Black Water Vampire. The film's wider story involves freeing an innocent man. One man is behind bars, but another is still killing women near the Black Water woods. Several flmmakers hope to exonerate Raymond Banks (Bill Oberst Jr.), the man behind bars. To do this, they will have to venture into the murderer's killing grounds. This reviewer admits to avoiding most found footage films, but The Black Water Vampire hosts genre favourite Bill Oberst Jr. So, this critic will have to find...
