Mario Tomchev was born on 5 April 1990 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is
grandson of painter Diko Tomchev Sr. and son of literary antiquarian
and amateur photographer/collage artist Tsvetan Tomchev. At different
points in his secondary education he studied English, Italian, and also
spent a year of Preschool Education in Sofia University. In 2012 he
worked six months on the Hollywood blockbuster "Olympus Has Fallen" as
an artist support in Visual Effects. In early 2013 he met actor
Nickolay Hadjiminev with whom he started taking acting/directing
lessons. Later, he was selected as one of five members who represented
the Young Jury at the 17th Sofia International Film Festival. He has
one brother, culinary specialist Diko Tomchev Jr.
