Metronomy have released a music video for their latest single, “Right on Time.” The whimsical clip, directed by Juliet Casella and Thibaut Caesar, sees the band enjoying a surreal day of (fake) skydiving and picnicking.
“Skydiving is by far the most exhilarating and fun thing we have ever done,” frontman Joseph Mount joked in a statement. “Yes, we make it look easy! But, filming this video was not without its challenges. After several weeks of training the aerial choreography we set out to shoot. But thanks to the British summer...

Metronomy has tapped Mgmt for a remix of their single “The Look,” released in celebration of the upcoming 10-year anniversary of the band’s album The English Riviera. The New York indie rock band gives the track a more ethereal vibe, extending the original for an extra minute of instrumentals.
“The Look” is Metronomy’s most popular single, appearing on the band’s third album The English Riviera. Metronomy will reissue the album on April 30 via Because Music with six previously unreleased tracks. The reissue will be available on limited-edition and numbered heavyweight 180g vinyl,...

Jessie Ware becomes a Studio 54 goddess in the video for her single “What’s Your Pleasure?” She released her album by the same name last month.
In between solo scenes of Ware vamping and showing off some big, teased-up hair, she’s also joined by a crew of back-up dancers. During the chorus, the pop star dances in a purple room.
What’s Your Pleasure? is Ware’s fourth studio album and follows 2017’s Glasshouse. James Ford produced most of the record, while other contributors include Kindness, Metronomy’s Joseph Mount and Midland.

British singer Jessie Ware unveiled a delightfully coy new tack, “Ooh La La,” from her upcoming album, What’s Your Pleasure? out June 19th.
“Ooh La La” boasts a busy and boisterous disco vibe as an array of synths, guitars, kitchen-sink percussion and other atmospheric flourishes spring up around the central drum and bass groove. Ware leans into this air of dancefloor camp with a punchy but hushed vocal performance, cooing to her lover as he picks her up in his car, “Ooh la la/Open up the door, you...

Metronomy will release their new album, Metronomy Forever, on September 13th via Because Music. The group has shared a video for new single “Salted Caramel Ice Cream,” which follows the release of “Lately” earlier this year.
The video, directed by frontman Joseph Mount, was inspired by a VHS tape of the MTV show 120 Minutes, which was given to Mount by a friend. “It’s something I’d get him to do every so often as I was a bit obsessed with music TV at the time,” he said. “On one...

It’s a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids scenario in Metronomy’s music video for new track “Lately,” the group’s first song in three years. In the clip, directed by band member Joseph Mount, the musicians are tiny versions of themselves, performing the song while standing on a stage made of their own cassette tape (which reads “Metronomy 4 Eva”). The track itself is a shimmery indie rock number, with a soaring chorus and moments of layered synth ambiance.

Before “Crying in the Club” was the title of a Camila Cabello song, it was Robyn’s entire ethos, if not registered trademark. In the eight years since the Swede released a proper solo album, no one has quite recaptured the combination of b.p.m. and pathos she perfected in the run-up to the turn of the last decade. Now she’s back with “Missing U,” the abbreviated title of which suggests the university-level course in loss and regret it delivers.
Bawling, meet banging! Banging, bawling!
In a rare recent interview, Robyn indicated that she was trying to strip down the sounds on her forthcoming eighth album, which has been due for… well, eight years, as far as fans are concerned. But the only minimalist in “Missing You” is in the percussion – it’s basically the sound of a bass drum being struck steadily for pretty much the entire 4 minutes and 51 seconds.

Robyn has returned with the new single “Missing U.” It is the Swedish pop singer’s first solo song in eight years.
“‘Missing U’ is a song about this trippy thing that happens when people disappear, it’s like they become even more clear and you see them everywhere,” Robyn said in a statement.
The song reunites Robyn with her longtime collaborator and co-writer Klas Åhlund along with Metronomy’s Joseph Mount. “Missing U,” Robyn’s first solo release since the arrival of her three-part Body Talk in 2010, was recorded...

Metronomy’s latest is apparently the album frontman and mastermind behind the project Joseph Mount has always wanted to make. Summer 08, his fifth full-length album, is geared towards a blend of funk and pop that evokes its Prince influences and sounds as fresh as it is a vanguard in indie music today. ‘Summer ’08’ by Metronomy Album […]
