Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, and Jennifer Hudson are some of the most famous names to come from American Idol. These stars certainly deserve their fame, but what about the lesser-known American Idol alumni? Singers like MacKenzie Bourg and Elise Testone are sometimes forgotten in Idol discourse because of their eliminations or where their careers went after the singing competition. However, many fans believe the world has seriously slept on these artists. Here’s a closer look at Bourg, Testone, and more underrated American Idol contestants.

Let’s start with Bo Bice, the runner-up of American Idol Season 4. He took a big risk as one of the first Idol contestants within the rock genre, but it paid off. All three judges — even the notoriously brutal Simon Cowell — loved his audition song, The Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post.

A couple weeks ago on episode 4 of the current 16th season of Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” the show opened with 18-year-old twin brothers, Trent and Colton Edwards, contemporary dancers with flair to spare who are based in Pittsburgh. They explained that they only took up dancing three years ago. However, they also added that they had musical theater experience, which they said provided the equivalent of Tsa PreCheck when it came to taking on dance. Cute, huh?
The good-looking twosome instantly charmed the judges with their talkative personalities as cheeky Colton confessed that he was the evil twin of the two. Their “Sytycd” performance (see clip above) was quite a showstopper and even caused judge Mary Murphy to let loose with one of her sonic shrieks of glee. Of course, they were given a golden ticket to the Academy.

Our American Idol “journey” has come to an end, but let us not weep for what’s been cancelled, let us instead go to iTunes and download the Season 15 winner’s new single. Hey, from a songwriting vantage point, it may not be “Home,” but it definitely ranks above “No Boundaries” and “Inside Your Heaven” — and we bought those, too. And if this show can produce one more bona fide radio/touring superstar, maybe the inevitable reboot will happen sooner than expected, no?

Despite some questionable eliminations in the early rounds, American Idol's fifteenth season has given fans one of the strongest top four in recent Idol history. So it was nice to see all four talented singers—Mackenzie Bourg, Dalton Rapattoni, Trent Harmon and La'Porsha Renae—get the hometown visit treatment: parades, home-cooked meals and all. And it's no coincidence that the songs they each dedicated to said hometowns in the first round were some of their best performances of the season. Mackenzie sang the done-a-million-times "Hallelujah," but it was still great. Dalton picked "Calling You," by Blue October, a band from North Texas (like him). Trent put a beautiful spin on the...

There's only one week to go until the American Idol series finale. Before we get there, though, there are still two more eliminations to get through, with the fourth-place finisher being revealed next. Who will it be -- La'Porsha Renae, MacKenzie Bourg, Trent Harmon or Dalton Rapattoni?
After Sonika Vaid's elimination, will the next singer to leave be another obvious choice or should we expect a shocker after one singer stole the show and overshadowed the frontrunner? Let's get into all that and make some predictions.

If you've been watching American Idol's farewell season, you've seen in action the phenomenon that's plagued Idol since season 7, when the contestants were first allowed to play their own instruments. That would be the White Guy With Guitar, commonly abbreviated to "Wgwg." This season has two: bespectacled Voice veteran MacKenzie Bourg, and, to a lesser degree, soul singer Trent Harmon. (Pictured above, the perfect Wgwg prototype: Phillip Phillips.) A Wgwg is pretty self-explanatory: one of Idol's many white dudes, prone to playing an acoustic guitar and making teen girls swoon. The guitar can be electric too, but it's most commonly found in the acoustic form. A Wgwg can come from any...

I may not have grown up under the Common Core Standards, but I know enough math to figure out the following simple equation:
There are six weeks left of American Idol‘s Season 15. There are seven weeks left of Kelly Clarkson’s pregnancy. If Fox and 19 Entertainment spring for a luxury Rv to transport the original Idol winner to and from Hollywood every Thursday between now and the April 7 finale, there is no reason whatsoever she can’t upgrade this rollercoaster of a Farewell Season with her sweetly rambling, stream-of-consciousness, heartfelt and honest critiques. (And the occasional emotionally devastating performance.
