The X-Men have been around for more than 50 years. They multiply: rapidly, frequently, endlessly. They aren’t really a superteam like the Justice League or the Avengers, those all-star crews built out of solo-series stars (Superman, Captain America) mixed together with B-list glue characters (Martian Manhunter, Wonder Man). With one very obvious exception and a few other arguable exceptions, the X-Men aren’t Solo-Star people. They are a team.
Or rather, teams. Chris Claremont’s iconic decade-and-a-half run on Uncanny X-Men cemented the idea that the X-lineup was eternally fluid: Characters died, left on sabbatical, joined the Avengers, got replaced...

On Sunday, NBC announced its 2014-2015 prime-time lineup, consisting of "inventive new comedies [and] compelling new dramas" we can expect to see starting this fall. From the looks of it, the Peacock intends to keep its lead in the 18–49 demographic with the help of Debra Messing (The Mysteries of Laura), Katherine Heigl (State of Affairs), and Hope Davis (Allegiance), among others. The network was even nice enough to release trailers for many of the new shows, along with brief summaries:a to Z"This is the A-to-z story of Andrew (Ben Feldman) and Zelda (Cristin Milioti) — a pair that almost wasn’t — and all that happened from the day they met." Bad Judge"No excuses, no apologies, no compromises. Wild child Rebecca Wright (Kate Walsh) knows how to have a good time, but she also happens to be one of L.A.’s toughest and most respected criminal court judges." Constantine"Based...

NBC’s two-hour Thursday night comedy block will come to an end this fall. The broadcaster is scaling back its comedy investment on TV’s most lucrative night for advertising. All told, seven new dramas and comedies will join NBC’s lineup next season, along with two event miniseries. Stand-out dramas include the return of former Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl to prime-time in the thriller State of Affairs (which will receive...

The network that tried and failed to tell a very modern parenting story with A New Normal will try yet again with One Big Happy, a new comedy starring Elisha Cuthbert as a lesbian who’s pregnant with her best friend’s baby.
The executive producers on the comedy are Ellen Degeneres, Liz Feldman and Scott Ellis (2 Broke Girls).
Here’s the official logline for the sitcom that’ll premiere as part of NBC’s midseason lineup: Best friends Lizzy (gay and a bit type-a) and Luke (straight and more laid back) are like family. When they were kids and...

Word that Pretty Woman could be making its way to the Broadway stage in musical form may have some of us already imagining musical versions of Natalie Cole's "Wild Women Do" and Christopher Otcasek's "Real Wild Child," but we may be getting ahead of ourselves in hoping that any of the music from the film's soundtrack will be worked into stage production. At this point, it sounds like this project is still in the talks stage. It's not a sure thing, but plans are reportedly in the works to bring Pretty Woman to the stage. In fact, NY Post says Pretty Woman director Garry marshall and producer Paula Wagner are meeting with composers, lyricists and directors, "all of whom are vying to bring 'Pretty Woman' to the stage." The site goes on to note that J.F. Lawton, who wrote the screenplay for the 1990 hit film, is...

Wild Child’s sophomore release, ‘Runaround’, is indicative of a band ready to command the attention of the mainstream. The group made a tentative entrance into commercial consciousness earlier this year with stop-go single ‘All The Years’ soundtracking the Purina cat food 50th anniversary advertisement, and their latest release comprises many singles befitting of potential future commercials. The unforgettable whistled hook in ‘Crazy Bird’, for example, would slot rather neatly into an advert for an Apple iPod. It is yet to be seen if this style will bolster their critical roster following accolades for ‘Best Indie Act’ and ‘Best Folk Act’ at this year’s Austin Music Awards, but it is sure to enhance their accessibility.
Regrettably, the more marketable direction the band have edged toward in ‘Runaround’ has resulted in a dilution of the quirky, innovative sound that made debut album ‘Pillow Talk’ so exciting.

Jackie Collins, queen of the sexy thriller, has been hooked on Elmore Leonard ever since she read Get Shorty. But she has never been able to follow the king of crime fiction's 10 rules for writing …
Rip Elmore Leonard. What a guy – what a teller of wild and wonderful and, most of all, raunchy tales. A storyteller with a crazy imagination mixed in with personal experiences. Many have tried, but nobody has managed to outdo crime fiction's master of the thriller.
I discovered the joy of an Elmore Leonard book in the early 1990s when I picked up Get Shorty. What a trip! I was immediately hooked by his colourful language and outrageous characters. I grew up reading Mickey Spillane, and I never thought any writer could beat Spillane for his way of bringing characters to life so that one could actually visualise them. But Elmore Leonard managed to do that – and brilliantly.

Aida Folch and Jean Rochefort in The Artist And The Model In my conversation with Academy Award winning director Fernando Trueba on his latest film The Artist And The Model (El Artista Y La Modelo), we spoke about the influence of a famous father and son, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Jean Renoir. Grace Kelly, Hedy Lamarr, a François Truffaut Wild Child and Robert Bresson's Au Hasard Balthazar led to the nature of women in Michelangelo Antonioni's Identification Of A Woman.
Alongside Trueba was actress Aida Folch whose character Mercè is recruited by Claudia Cardinale's Léa Cros to become a muse for her husband, the artist Marc Cros, played by Jean Rochefort.
The film set in 1943 was co-written by long-time Buñuel collaborator Jean-Claude Carrière, who together with Günter Grass adapted his novel The Tin Drum for Volker Schlöndorff's Academy Award winning film of the same name. He is...

Wild child Miley Cyrus stripped off everything but her makeup to pose totally nude for a photo you can wear on your chest. The 20-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer's naked body graces a line of T-shirts produced by fashion designer Marc Jacobs for charity.

Porn-y! Trailer for Lindsay Lohan's New Movie "The Canyons" is Out And It Actually Looks Intriguing!
Wild child Lindsay Lohan is back to try for more acting cred with "The Canyons." The trailer for the movie came out and yup, it intrigued me. First, it's directed by Paul Schrader, the guy who wrote Martin Scorsese's "Taxi Driver" and wrote/directed "American Gigolo." And then, writer Bret Easton Ellis ("American Psycho," "Less Than Zero") also helped with the script.
And I was intrigued by the talky beginning about movies where Lohan's character says she's actually getting tired of them. Hhmmmm, how fitting!
"The Canyons" arrives in theaters and on iTunes on August 2nd. Count me in!

Remember the 1998 thriller "Wild Things?" The flop that became a cult hit thanks largely to all the salacious goodness of three-way sex scenes, girl-on-girl action, and Kevin Bacon's bacon.
According to our friends at Huffington Post, "Wild Things" could get a sequel and it will be inspired by the Amanda Knox Murder trial. The original movie starred Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, Matt Dillon, Bill Murray, and Bacon told the story of a high school guidance counselor accused of rape by two female students.
Now, director John McNaughton, the guy who gave us the original "Wild Things," told Hollywood.com that this will not be a sequel per se but will focus on the original characters' children by way of Amanda Knox.
McNaughton further revealed that, "Something that's like the child of Suzie Toller [Campbell's character], she claimed that Matt Dillon's [character] had raped her a long time ago and maybe there...

Much as 1998’s Wild Things proved a timely, metaphorical examination of the Iraq disarmament crisis by having two sexy ladies make out in a pool, director John McNaughton has plans for a sequel that could similarly provide insight into current events—specifically, the Amanda Knox murder trial, easily the hottest and naughtiest of all horrible murder trials. Speaking to Hollywood.com, McNaughton said he and screenwriter Stephen Peters are currently developing the follow-up Wild Child Things, making clear that their Amanda Knox-inspired Wild Things movie is not a sequel, as that would be utterly tasteless—a tacky exploitation of ...

It often doesn't take long for real-life controversies and tragedies to make their way to the big screen (last year's "Zero Dark Thirty" and "The Impossible," just to name some recent examples) -- but they don't usually come in as strange of a package as this.
"Wild Things," the provocative 1998 thriller starring Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, Matt Dillon, Kevin Bacon and Bill Murray, could receive a sequel, but with a major twist: It'll be inspired largely by the Amanda Knox murder trial.

Not “deemed” as an electronic music fan, I have become more appreciative of the transcending genre largely due to the complexity of its instrumentals and the intensity of its visual effects. Yes, there are times I prefer to wallow away in melancholic melodies, but lately turning on dance anthems have become my mood booster.
