The stoner comedy market has always been cornered by men until now with MTV’s original movie aptly titled Pretty Stoned. Pretty Vee and Paris Berelc star as co-workers Stella and Darcy who find themselves in hot water after one of them disposes of $20,000 worth of high-end product down the toilet as revenge. Now they have to deal with the repercussions of drug Queen Pin Madame X and her enforcer Tik Tock, played by Brandee Evans. For Evans, the role in the stoner comedy is a nice departure from viewers who know her as Mercedes on the drama P-Valley. Ahead of the film’s 4/20 eve premiere, we caught up with the actress. How does it feel to be in a female-led stoner comedy? Brandee Evans: In my best Lizzo voice I say it’s about damn time. I’m very excited MTV is allowing us to do this under their development.

“Do Revenge” brought colorful chaos to Netflix screens last weekend in more ways than one. Eleanor Levetan (Maya Hawke) and Drea Torres (Camila Mendes) team up to do each other’s revenge, switching targets so that Drea goes for Eleanor’s bully while Eleanor goes for Drea’s ex-boyfriend Max Broussard (Austin Abrams). The film, directed by Jennifer Kaitlyn Robinson, also stars a host of young Hollywood personas including Talia Ryder, Rish Shah, Alisha Boe, Jonathan Daviss, Ava Capri, Paris Berelc, Maia Reficco, Sophie Turner and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
High school is the setting for the riff on Alfred Hitchcock’s “Strangers on a Train” (1951) — Rosehill Country Day in particular — with Sarah Michelle Gellar (“Buffy” herself) as headmaster, and in keeping with the teen vibe the “Do Revenge” soundtrack is full of pitch perfect songs.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson ‘Would Love’ to Direct a Marvel or DC Movie
[Editor’s note: The following article contains spoilers for “Do Revenge,” now streaming on Netflix.]
Since her film debut in 2019 with “Someone Great,” Jennifer Kaytin Robinson has been determined to tell stories about “complicated, messy” women — including in the MCU.
Robinson, whose latest film “Do Revenge” is now streaming on Netflix, co-wrote “Thor: Love and Thunder” with director Taika Waititi, all while writing and helming the ’90s-inspired indie feature starring Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes as Eleanor and Drea, two “fucked up TaskRabbits” out to avenge one another’s high school horrors. The ensemble cast including Austin Abrams, Sophie Turner, Ava Capri, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Talia Ryder, Jonathan Daviss, Rish Shah, and Alisha Boe, even dubbed themselves the “Revengers” with a special nod to Marvel’s “Avengers.”
While Robinson especially focused on penning the Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) storyline for “Love and Thunder,” the “Hawkeye” consulting producer hasn’t written off directing her own standalone Marvel film someday.

Austin Abrams’ character Max Broussard in “Do Revenge” could not be more different from his role in “Euphoria” as Ethan Lewis. And for a little bit, Abrams went back and forth between shooting the new Netflix movie (now streaming) and Season 2 of Sam Levinson’s HBO drama.
“It was really fun to go from a very nice, gentle, thoughtful guy to [an] egomaniac,” he said in an interview with TheWrap about his “Do Revenge” character. “That is just really flashy, really craving attention.”

Maya Hawke, Camila Mendes, a Bougie with a capital B high school and two thirsts for vengeance complete the recipe for Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s latest film, “Do Revenge.”
Based broadly on Alfred Hitchcock’s “Strangers on a Train” (1951), “Do Revenge” sets a similar switched “getting back at” story in a younger scenario: the elite Rosehill Country Day high school full of entitled and wealthy students. If the story or cast doesn’t sound appealing, maybe the soundtrack will.
Fans of the work of Hitchcock and of Mendes in “Riverdale” or Hawke in “Stranger Things” as well as Austin Abrams’ work in “Euphoria” may be wondering how to watch “Do Revenge.” We’ve rounded up all the details below.

"You never go full chicken, Lilly!" Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for an eSports comedy titled 1Up, the latest from filmmaker Kyle Newman (of Fanboys and Barely Lethal previously). The film is about a gamer who quits her college sports team due to sexism from all the men, and decides to start her own team to compete in the league and beat the men. This borrows the classic 90s sports comedy movie structure where a frustrated but talented player breaks off and creates an underdog team as they fight to take down their former teammates - except that this is set in the eSports world where racism & sexism is still rampant. Paris Berelc stars as "V", for Vivian, and is joined by Ruby Rose, Hari Nef, Madison Baines, Lolita Milena, D.J. Mausner, Taylor Zakhar Perez, & Naomi Kyle. It does look like direct-to-video quality, but might still be funny enough to enjoy.

The Netflix dark comedy “Strangers,” inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock classic “Strangers On a Train,” has added a slew of new actors to its lineup: Austin Abrams, Alisha Boe (“13 Reasons Why”), Talia Ryder, Paris Berelc, Jonathan Daviss (“Outer Banks”), Maia Reficco and Ava Capri.
The new cast members join Camila Mendes, Maya Hawke, Rish Shah and Sophie Turner, who were previously announced for the film.
“Strangers” is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Someone Great”) based on a screenplay she wrote with Celeste Ballard. The film’s premise is in the vein of “Strangers on a Train,” in which two strangers plot to murder someone the other person wants gone.
“Strangers” subverts that idea and stars two teenage girls — one a trendy “it girl” and the other an alternative girl — who team up to go after each other’s bullies.

Sparks are flying on Netflix’s The Crew — and not the kind you see on the Daytona International Speedway.
The first episode of Kevin James’ NASCAR-themed sitcom establishes the potential pairing of Kevin and his longtime coworker Beth, played by Billions‘ Sarah Stiles. The table-setting comes in the very last scene, when a recently dumped Kevin posits that he’ll never meet that special someone as long as he’s dedicated to his job. He then suggests the chances of finding someone who cares as much about the racing circuit are slim to none, at which point Beth chimes in:...

Kevin James Has a Losing Driver and a Demanding New Boss in Trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Crew’ (Video)
Kevin James seems like a pretty solid crew chief in his new NASCAR Netflix comedy series, “The Crew.” Unfortunately, everyone around him appears to be as hapless as can be.
But don’t take our word for it — watch the trailer above.

The trailer for Netflix' horror-comedy Hubie Halloween is out now.
The streaming giant shared the first official trailer on Thursday featuring Adam Sandler as Hubie DuBois, a Halloween-loving community volunteer living in Salem, Massachusetts.
Hubie Halloween follows the story of Hubie Dubois (Sandler) a good-natured but weird man who spends every Halloween making sure the residents of his hometown, celebrate the holiday safely, and play by the rules.
