These days Marvel has been doing a pretty poor job of making films, before 2019 the franchise was a powerhouse, constantly delivering cinematic entertainment, with smash-hit box office records; all along with narrating a captivating superhero tale. However, the franchise has faced a steady decline in its popularity because after Avengers: Endgame, only a few films have marked a lasting impact in the minds of its viewers.
Batman and Catwoman in Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One
Nevertheless, the franchise should learn from their rivals, DC as Butch Lukic, the producer of Batman: The Long Halloween shares how they all agreed to come up with the idea of adapting the storyline of The Long Halloween. The film was a massive success, featuring Jensen Ackles lending as the voice behind Bruce Wayne/ Batman in the fan-favorite animated film.

Avengers: Endgame Makers Once Revealed Kevin Feige’s Harrowing Plan Of Killing All The Six Og Heroes In The 2019 Film. (Photo Credit – IMDb)
2019’s Avengers: Endgame has left a deep impression on the fans for several reasons, and the major ones were Natasha Romanoff and Tony Stark’s deaths. It was an emotional affair for the fans as an era ended. Two of the Og Avengers’ deaths were hard on us, but it would have been even more complex if the Russo brothers went ahead with Marvel boss Kevin Feige’s idea. Keep scrolling for more.
The film brought together almost all the MCU superheroes and was a celebration in the theatres. Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth made the characters memorable for everyone. They portrayed the roles of Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk, Captain America, and Thor. The Infinity Saga...

Marvel dared to do TV differently. Now, it will have to redo “Daredevil: Born Again” from the ground up.
Head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman were removed from “Daredevil: Born Again” in late September, IndieWire confirmed, as were all of the directors previously booked to shoot the remainder of Season 1. About half of the 18-episode season is in the can, with some episodes fully shot. Ord and Corman will maintain executive producer credits; THR first reported the news of their dismissal.
Daredevil is the superhero alter ego of blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox); Ord and Corman envisioned the series as a legal procedural. Cox returns to the role he played on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 (the series has been on Disney+ since March 2022), but he didn’t even don the costume until the new show’s fourth episode. Now that’s dedication to a reimagining.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" came out last year, and I don't know about you, but I was in tears from the trailer alone. After losing star Chadwick Boseman in 2020 from colon cancer, director Ryan Coogler and the Marvel's movie's cast created a beautiful tribute to their beloved colleague. Sure, there were some issues with the movie overall, but it still stands out to me and legions of fans as a monument to the love we all had for the actor and the character he played so well.
Outside of the love for Chadwick Boseman, there were a couple standout moments in the movie, including the opening Dora Milaje action scene and Queen Ramonda's (Angela Bassett) powerful speech at the United Nations. According to the audio commentary for the film from Coogler (via Movie Web), those scenes almost ended up on the cutting room floor, and it could have changed the film for the worse.

Harry Styles appeared briefly at the end of the 2021 movie ‘Eternals’ as Eros/Starfox and was set to pocket up to $10 million for reprising the role in a spin-off titled “Eros and Pip”, but the project has reportedly been shelved amid Disney’s plans to scale back the various offshoots of the franchise.
“Marvel bosses were openly talking about Harry in a lead role but that talk has cooled. The whole business and Marvel franchise is being rethought. The focus is on creating the biggest projects with the biggest revenues. Harry’s character is a fun and beloved role but it is not realistically the number one choice to get the Marvel franchise bouncing back,” a source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper’s No Filter column, reports acehowbiz.com.
The update comes a few months after Marvel Studios producer Nate Moore teased Harry had a strong future with the franchise...

Marvel star Anthony Mackie has responded to the uncertain future of multiverse villain Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors. In a new interview with Inverse, Mackie affirmed that he won’t buy into the allegations of abuse until there is more evidence.
“We’re a country that was built on ‘everyone is innocent until proven guilty,’” Mackie said in the interview. “That’s one of the staples of this country. Nothing has been proven about this dude. Nothing. So everyone is innocent until proven guilty. That’s all I can say.

Before Anthony Mackie landed the role of Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, he had his eyes set on a completely different Marvel Cinematic Universe character.
During an interview with Inverse, published online Wednesday, the actor said after he started to make his name in the industry, he decided to aim for Marvel in the early 2010s.
“I had been contacting Marvel a lot about Black Panther,” he explained. “I had written them letters. I was trying to find a way to make them make Black Panther. And I wanted to be Black Panther because growing up I fucking loved Black Panther.”
He eventually got a meeting set up with longtime Marvel producer Nate Moore as well as Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who would ultimately end up being the directors for 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Mackie’s first MCU project.
“I’ll never forget, Joe Russo said, ‘Listen, so we’re doing this movie.

Deadline’s Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament took a hiatus during the pandemic as movie theaters closed for the majority of 2020-2021 and theatrical day-and-date titles on both the big screen and studios’ respective streaming platforms became more prevalent. Coming back from that brink, the studios have largely returned to their theatrical release models and the downstream monies they can bring. Not to mention their power in launching IPs around the world with big global marketing campaigns. When it comes to evaluating the financial performance of top movies, it isn’t about what a film grosses at the box office. The true tale is told when production budgets, P&a, talent participations and other costs collide with box office grosses, and ancillary revenues from VOD to DVD and TV. To get close to that mysterious end of the equation, Deadline is repeating our Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament for 2022, using data culled by seasoned and trusted sources.

Will Smith was the surprise guest that set the room abuzz Wednesday night at the 14th annual African American Film Critics Assn. Awards at the Beverly Wilshire hotel.
But Smith had tough competition in the emotional-speech department from fellow honorees that included Danielle Deadwyler, Viola Davis, Angela Bassett and Gina Prince-Bythewood.
Deadwyler, who won lead actress honors for her tour de force role in “Till,” drew the crowd’s the attention to the world-changing impact of Mamie Till-Mobley, whose provocative decision to show pictures of her son’s brutalized corpse helped ignite the Civil Rights movement in the 1950s and ’60s.
Like other speakers, Deadwyler drew a direct comparison to the conditions that existed more than a half-century ago to the present day, when politicians are pursuing racist legislation designed to restrict the teaching of American history in schools as it relates to the Black experience over the past 400 years.

Will Smith returned to awards season festivities Wednesday evening, taking the stage to accept the Beacon Award at the African American Film Critics Association Awards. The speech marked Smith’s first in-person speech at an awards ceremony since his controversy at the 2022 Oscars, in which the actor slapped Chris Rock onstage.
Smith’s “Emancipation” costar Charmaine Bingwa and Aafca cofounder Gil L. Robertson introduced Smith and Antoine Fuqua, the historical drama’s director, early in the evening’s ceremony. After Fuqua’s minute-long thanks to Aafca, Apple TV+ and the film’s cast and crew, Smith took the microphone to recount the production of the film.
“‘Emancipation’ was the individual most difficult film of my entire career. It was all outdoors, that is true,” Smith joked, earning laughs from the crowd.
“It was the second day of shooting and 110 degrees… I was in a scene with one of the white actors.

Steven Spielberg thought he was done processing before shooting The Fabelmans, a movie loosely based on his youth as an amateur filmmaker and his parents’ complicated relationship. He’d done that during the script phase when working with writer Tony Kushner. Kristie Macosko Krieger, Spielberg’s longtime producing partner, still made sure to surround the filmmaker with his most trusted collaborators. Her instincts were right.
“He’d say, ‘I got it, I got it.’ But on set he broke down quite a bit. He was having memories flooding back from his childhood,” Krieger said at the Producers Guild of America’s annual Nominees Breakfast in Los Angeles on Saturday (an unexpected twist this year was a historic winter storm battering Southern California). “He was entrusting his life with us.”

Dominique Thorne entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Riri Williams with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but the actress had actually auditioned for the role of Shuri in the original movie. She obviously didn’t win the role, but she impressed Marvel Studios enough that they knew they wanted to work with her in future. In Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is now streaming on Disney+, a short clip of Thorne’s original audition is played, with the actress appearing alongside the late Chadwick Boseman.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ reign over the Marvel Cinematic Universe has only just begun.
In her new Variety cover story, the award-winning comic force behind “Veep” discussed her immersion into the billion-dollar comic book world – and how far she’s willing to go in bringing the mysterious Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to life.
Louis-Dreyfus was briefly introduced in credits scenes and cameos over multiple Marvel films and series so far, including her debut in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” followed by Scarlett Johansson’s “Black Widow.” Known casually as Val, the Contessa is a powerful woman with ominous motives who typically shows up in the aftermath of the international incidents kicked up by earth’s mightiest — and when she does, she has a knack for recruiting the most broken and vengeful among them into her service.

Although Eternals introduced some significant new elements to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the rest of the franchise hasn’t yet picked up the threads the movie left dangling. One of those threads involved the introduction of Eros, aka Starfox, an Eternal and brother of Thanos. “Should we even make this movie?”
That was a thought that crossed Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer and Marvel executive Nate Moore’s mind following the passing of Chadwick Boseman about whether to move forward with the sequel.
A script had been written, pre-production already in place, then Boseman’s sudden death on Aug. 28, 2020 at the age of 43 from colon cancer.
“How to narratively address his absence in a way that felt honest?” was a challenge that Moore says he, Marvel and filmmaker Ryan Coogler faced.
“It was the only way that felt authentic: We knew we had a reaction to the passing, but clearly the world did,” Moore explains on the latest episode of Crew Call.
“It felt like the most genuine thing to do as storytellers,” says Moore about Boseman’s passing “to use that that thing as fuel.”
“The notion of recasting never crossed my mind,” he adds.

“I think for all of us when you’re an artist and you work in a creative medium, you’re blessed to have an outlet for things that you’re feeling, questions that you might be processing, things that confuse you about the world, about yourself. It was a little bit of that,” said Ryan Coogler during an “Academy Conversations” Q&a for Oscar voters to discuss the Marvel sequel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Watch the entire discussion with Coogler, producer Nate Moore, actor Angela Bassett, co-writer Joe Robert Cole, and costume designer Ruth E. Carter moderated by Jazz Tangcay above.

When a character shows up in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, it's usually to set them up for a spin-off. After the debut of Riri Williams/Ironheart (Dominique Thorne) in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," she's set to head to Disney+. However, you shouldn't hold your breath for a solo project about the movie's true break-out star: Namor the Sub-Mariner (Tenoch Huerta Mejía).
Now, Namor almost assuredly will be returning; the ending of "Wakanda Forever" all but promises that. However, it will be in another supporting role, not a headlining one. The reason why? The movie rights to Namor's character are split between Marvel Studios and Universal. This means that the two studios are in a deadlock; neither can make a Namor solo movie on their own because neither has the complete legal right to.
Let's explore the specifics of this rights-sharing deal, the history behind it, and its creative implications.

In Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” we’re introduced to a fearsome new villain named Namor. Played by Mexican actor Tenoche Huerta, Namor comes from an undersea community, his life defined by subjugation and colonization. At one point, he explains the origins of his name: If amor means love, then he’s an outcast (a mutant) starved of affection. No amor. Namor. He’s without love, a loner. He’s also a loaner. Because Marvel Studios doesn’t actually control the character.
The situation around Namor harkens back to the pre-Marvel Studios/pre-Disney era of making movies out of Marvel Comics characters, before the studio streamlined and controlled intellectual property. Before Marvel Studios made “Iron Man” as its own independently produced film, the company was in the habit of licensing or selling off rights to characters to other studios — the X-Men went to Fox, Spider-Man went to Sony, etc.

Dominique Thorne made her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Riri Williams (a.k.a. Ironheart), a young genius from Chicago’s South Side who builds her own flying armor, but she seems to have always been destined to be part of the franchise. Five years ago, as a sophomore at Cornell University, she went through a series of auditions to play T’Challa’s sister, Shuri. Though Letitia Wright took the role, Williams was one of the finalists, and impressed Marvel execs so much that they offered...

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” starts with an emotional gut punch: the death of Wakanda leader T’Challa from an undisclosed illness. But for the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster Marvel sequel, the opening sequence had an even greater significance: a chance to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who played Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before his tragic death in August of 2020 from colon cancer.
So when it was decided that “Wakanda Forever” would include T’Challa’s death and memorial, director Ryan Coogler, producer Nate Moore and other key department heads – like production designer Hannah Beachler – sat down to discuss what the king’s funeral should represent.

The weekend before cameras rolled on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, filmmaker Ryan Coogler led a team of about 30 people to Chadwick Boseman’s resting place in South Carolina, where actors and key crew were joined by members of the late star’s family.
It was a solemn and reflective moment. Yes, it was a way to acknowledge the actor’s death, something several of them had done before at Boseman’s memorial service. But it was something deeper — reaffirming a commitment to the great undertaking ahead.
“You just felt very blessed and very humbled to be able to stand there,” recalls Angela Bassett, who was reprising the role of Queen Ramonda, the onscreen mother of Boseman’s hero-king, T’Challa.
Just a few days later, cameras began rolling in the Egyptian Theatre in Atlanta for a scene that involved...
