- In 1994, Burton Ritchie ran for At-Large City Council Seat 2 in Pensacola, FL on an anti-discrimination platform after the sitting Councilman came out against gays in an editorial published in the local paper.
- Is an avid poker player. Has placed in the money in the World Series of Poker for 2011-2013.
- Is married to jewelry designer, Stephanie Ritchie. They were originally engaged in 1994 before they each married other people. They got back together in 2005 and were married in 2006. They have two children together.
- Started acting when he was 8, playing John Henry in Member of the Wedding.
- Is known for being 100% drug and alcohol free since 1990.
- Got his start in producing after he won a walk-on part in Red 2 while playing in a charity tournament in support of the Clinton Foundation. While on the set of Red 2, he met producer, Daniel Konrad-Cooper. Ritchie and Konrad-Cooper went on the produce Low Down, Big Significant Things and Copenhagen together.
