Richard Medugno
- Actor
After graduating from UC Irvine with a B.A. in Drama, Richard started his career working in the professional theatre at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego doing subscription sales and play development. This was followed by stints of office temp work in Boston; then shipping department supervising for the Ontario Medical Association in Toronto; and, for the past twenty years, content development on marketing communications teams for these Silicon Valley companies: 8x8, InnoMedia, McAfee, Trend Micro, Qualys, ZingBox, and ServiceNow.
When not working, Richard was co-parenting two children (now adults) in Fremont, CA, and writing as a freelancer (scripts, newspaper and magazine features, theatre and book reviews, and blogs). His memoir "Deaf Daughter, Hearing Father" was published by Gallaudet University Press 2005. Richard published his biography "Deaf Politician - The Gary Malkowski Story" in Fall 2020 using Amazon KDP. Also, he has had a number of plays produced and published as well.
Richard adapted four of his original stage plays into feature-length screenplays. While in the San Francisco Bay Area, Richard worked on the making of a couple of short, no-budget films and scripted an animated series of corporate videos.
Richard lives in San Diego and works on passion projects like adapting Charlie Chaplin's silent film classic "City Lights" into a stage play for Deaf actors and actors who know American Sign Language.
