‘Glamorous’ Trailer: Kim Cattrall Gets Her ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Moment in Netflix Queer Comedy Series
Netflix’s upcoming series “Glamorous” is like “The Devil Wears Prada” if Meryl Streep were replaced by “Sex and the City’s” Kim Cattrall and instead of Anne Hathaway, she hired drag queens and non-binary actor Miss Benny to work for her. The 10-episode LGBTQ comedy series premieres June 22 on the streamer.
“Glamorous” follows baby-faced new hire Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a young, queer man who lands a job for the legendary CEO Madolyn Addison (Cattrall). Madolyn’s makeup line, Glamorous Cosmetics, is plummeting. Suspecting her business is being sabotaged by someone on the inside, she hires Marco to sleuth around.
“She wants him to be her eyes and ears, to make friends — and find out what’s going on behind her back, to discover what they’re hiding and what they’re stealing. In exchange, she’ll teach Marco everything she knows – but she warns him, ‘This business isn’t all glitter and glamour,...

The upcoming Netflix comedy tells the story of Marco Mejia (Miss Benny), a young gender non-conforming queer man whose life seems to be stuck in place until he lands a job working for legendary makeup mogul Madolyn Addison (Kim Cattrall).
The job provides Marco with his first real chance to figure out what he wants out of life, who he actually is, and what it really means for him to be queer — while also helping Madolyn rejuvenate her iconic but now-stale beauty brand.

Nicole Power has joined the ensemble of the upcoming Netflix drama series “Glamorous.”
She will appear alongside the previously announced “Sex and the City” icon Kim Cattrall, as well as actor, singer-songwriter and YouTuber Miss Benny. In the show, Power will portray Mykynnleigh, a seemingly guileless corporate consultant who rolls into town to help make a business deal happen. Although she seems wholesome and unsophisticated, those appearances are deceiving as Mykynnleigh possesses a lot of backbone and business acumen.

Kim’s Convenience star Jean Yoon has come forth with her own claims about the recently ended CBC/Netflix comedy, on the heels of TV son Simu Liu expressing some frustrations.

Jean Yoon is the latest “Kim’s Convenience” star to speak out about her negative experience working on the series, citing “overtly racist” storylines that were cut from its fifth and final season, which recently premiered on Netflix.
Responding to an article about co-star Simu Liu’s statement regarding the abrupt conclusion and tension behind the scenes of “Kim’s Convenience,” Yoon wrote on Twitter, “The lack of Asian female, especially Korean writers in the writers room of Kims made my life Very Difficult & the experience of working on the show painful.”
According to Yoon, the “Kim’s Convenience” cast received scripts for the entire fifth season in advance due to the pandemic and “discovered storylines that were Overtly Racist, and so extremely culturally inaccurate that the cast came together and expressed concerns collectively.”
Citing an offensive joke that was ultimately cut from the show, Yoon wrote, “Pastor Nina comes to the [store] to pick up Mrs.

Simu Liu is speaking out on the abrupt cancellation of “Kim’s Convenience.”
The actor, who played Jung Kim on the sitcom, penned a lengthy Facebook post Wednesday that revealed many of the reasons that the show will not be returning in 2022.

Kim's Convenience is closing up much earlier than planned.
The current fifth season of the hit Canadian sitcom will be its last.
“To our amazing fans: Authenticity of storytelling is at the center of the success of Kim’s Convenience,” the producers said in a statement.
“At the end of production on Season 5, our two co-creators confirmed they were moving onto other projects. Given their departure from the series, we have come to the difficult conclusion that we cannot deliver another season of the same heart and quality that has made the show so special.”
The statement added that “Kim’s Convenience has meant so much to our cast, writers, crew, and audiences around the world."
"Despite the restrictions and complications of shooting during the pandemic, Season 5 is our finest season to date."
