“Blood & Treasure” won’t be returning for a third season at CBS or Paramount+, Variety has confirmed.
The action-adventure drama followed an antiquities expert Danny McNamara and a cunning art thief Lexi Vaziriwho teamed up to catch a cold-blooded terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure. “When terrorist Karim Farouk absconds with a priceless artifact and kidnaps Danny’s mentor Dr. Anna Castillo, Danny recruits Lexi to help him bring Farouk to justice and rescue Anna. As they chase down Farouk, they encounter unscrupulous individuals who may either be useful allies or dangerous enemies, including Aiden Shaw, an arms dealer who acts solely in his self-interest, and Simon Hardwick, an expert at procuring pilfered artifacts,” reads the official series description.

The Khan was on… a rampage, as Blood & Treasure Season 2 came to a close this Sunday on Paramount+. Was the season finale “very satisfying” as promised? And what’s the latest word on a possible Season 3?
The finale opened with Danny, Lexi, Chuck and Shaw laboring to convince the Superintendent at the Hong Kong Pd that arrested Simon Hardwick is in fact not the Great Khan, and that the true villain is still out there and about to storm the building/seize the spirit banner. Oh, and she has an underground nuke ready to detonate/kill millions! The Superintendent...

Blood & Treasure‘s Danny and Lexi racked up lots more frequent flier miles this week, as the hunt for the Soul of Genghis Khan took them from Vietnam to Russia — with a stop to see an old “friend” in Ireland along the way.
Season 2’s third episode opened with Danny, Lexi and a very reluctant Shaw putting on a performance for the listening device they had discovered, so as to bait Kate and her CIA pals into following Lexi to a made-up meet-up. When the time for said assignation rolled around, and as Kate & Co. tailed Lexi, Shaw and...

1 | On Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., if the whole idea was that Izel’s people were incorporeal beings in need of meat suits, why did they appear to be humanoid when marching toward the opening gateway? Could we pick up the pace just a little?
Danny and Lexi continued racing against Farouk's people in the search for Cleopatra's sarcophagus on Blood & Treasure Season 1 Episode 6.
So this is what we've got to look forward to? Where in the World is Cleopatra's Remains?
This works in a nice, taut two-hour Indiana Jones movie. But I'm beginning to wonder about dragging it out over the summer months.
If it weren't for the subplots, this could get old fairly quickly. Derivative is one thing; monotonous is another.
So far, so good on that front.
Danny was correct to bring in Lexi, and not just for the sexual chemistry.
Her connections in the illicit art underground are one of their main sources of leads in the hunt for Cleopatra. While Danny was lining up a group of suspects, Lexi was already in touch with one of them, who gave her...

Since Cleopatra has seemingly been shifted around for the past 75 years, I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that her sarcophagus hasn't been found within the past month.
So it was more false starts and action on Blood & Treasure Season 1 Episode 4.
Sure, thanks to Indiana Jones, and all the long-ago serials that inspired him, there's very little that's new and original about Blood & Treasure.
But that still doesn't mean it can't be escapist, breezy, summer fun. And so far, so good on that front.
What's great about it is that, even though it's very serial, it's possible for a new viewer to jump in anytime and catch up.
Our heroes (Danny and Lexi) pursue answers, while dogged by a villain (Farouk) and hindered by a shadowy organization (the Brotherhood).
So it's not a difficult framework for anyone to follow.

Lots of action but not a lot of movement.
That seems to be the pattern for Danny, Lexi and the rest of the good guys on Blood & Treasure Season 1 Episode 3.
Not that it's easy to tell who the good guys are on this series.
Let's see, there's Danny the choir boy, Lexi the thief and Gwen the stiff Interpol agent.
Then there's Father Chuck, the personification of the Irish priest, but with a Boston accent instead of a brogue.
That's about the only sure thing.
After coming under Lexi's suspicion, Asim ended up being a good guy. Rip.
And Farouk is definitely the villain of the piece, planning something apocalyptic that utilizes the sarcophagi of Antony and the missing Cleopatra.
Related: Blood & Treasure Series Premiere Review: The Curse of Cleopatra
The rest of up in the air: Aiden Shaw, Captain Fabi, Simon Hardwick, all driven at least to some degree by self-interest.

This adventure series has "fun summer watch" written all over it.
A former FBI agent and his art-thief ex reluctantly team up to solve the mystery of the tomb of Antony and Cleopatra on Blood & Treasure Season 1 Episode 1 and Blood & Treasure Season 1 Episode 2.
Who would have thought that the male lead of Valor and a female supporting character from The Brave, both of which lost the military-series battle to Seal Team a season ago, would have such great chemistry together?
Matt Barr showed promise in the former while Sofia Pernas was largely buried in the latter.
But Blood & Treasure promises to have breakout roles for both, assuming that viewers have learned that summer television fare, even on broadcast networks, is worth their time.
Barr plays Danny McNamara, who Pernas's character Lexi Vaziri correctly labeled a Boy Scout. He had been an FBI agent, but moved to the private sector,...
