Call it a mutual admiration society: one-time child actress turned Academy Award-winning movie star Jennifer Lawrence paid tribute to one-time child actress turned two-time Oscar winner and filmmaker Jodie Foster, who admitted that the two also share a history of clumsiness at awards ceremonies.
Dressed in a draping mauve Elie Saab gown, Lawrence, 26, took the stage at the British Academy’s Britannia Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills to present Foster, 53, with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film on Friday. Jodie Foster has lined up her next directorial gig at Netflix. Ahead of “Black Mirror’s” Season 3 release, the streaming service announced that the director and actress will be helming an episode of the fourth season of the critically acclaimed anthology series.
No additional details about the episode were revealed only that Rosemarie DeWitt will star. Production for Season 4 will begin later this year and premiere sometime in 2017.
Created and written by Charlie Brooker, who serves as executive producer and showrunner alongside Annabel Jones, the sci-fi-themed series had its first two seasons on Britain’s Channel 4 and was later revived by Netflix. The show taps into our collective unease with the modern world and each stand-alone episode is a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia.

It's the role all actors dream of -- the one that puts them on the map. Breakout movie moments are born from a combination of factors, including raw talent, the movie's reception, and a little bit of showbiz luck. When the elements are all there and the sun is shining just right, an actor can go from "Hey, didn't I see her in ...?" to household-name status in no time.
These performances are examples of movies that hit the "launch" button on an actor's career. A couple of these performers may have had credits stretching back years before that defining role, but this was the one that made the entire industry and the movie-going public sit up and take notice. Read on to remember when six of the most bankable actors saw their careers take off.

And the year after one of the greatest years in the history of film, 1995 came plodding along, trying to keep up. So, for the first definitive list of 2015, we are going to look back 20 years at a year that, at first glance, doesn’t look so hot. It’s ripe with flops, but it’s also full of debuts, trailblazing beginnings, and better films than it gets credit for. But, the caveat still stands: this is not a “best of” list. In fact, there are a lot of bad movies on this list. But, they are movies that made a cultural impact,...
