After spending decades in development hell, a live-action adaptation of the Neil Gaiman comic book series The Sandman actually made it into production and was released into the world as a Netflix series in August of 2022. (Read our review Here.) Season 2 of the show went into production last year, then had to be put on pause for a while due to the writers and actors strikes. Thankfully, The Sandman season 2 was able to resume production as soon as those strikes came to an end – and now, during an interview with Collider, cast member Kirby Howell-Baptiste has confirmed that the new episodes will bring more Death to the screen. Death being the character she plays on the show.
Of course, it wouldn’t be difficult for the new season to feature “more Death,” since Death was only in one episode of the first season. But Howell-Baptiste said that in addition to being present in more episodes,...

‘The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin’ – Episode Guide (When Will the New Episodes Air?)
Get ready for a whacky and flashy ride with a bumbling Dick Turpin. Created by Claire Downes, Ian Jarvis, and Stuart Lane, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin is a British historical comedy series that takes its inspiration from a real-life highwayman of the same name in the 18th century. The Apple TV+ series follows the story of Dick Turpin, who leaves everything behind to become the leader of a group of goofy highwaymen accidentally.
The comedy series isn’t a grounded story in any way, as it takes many leaps into the immensely absurd. So, if you are ready for this completely made-up adventure, then here is a map for the upcoming adventures.

"'Historically accurate' is subjective." Apple TV has unveiled a funny promo featurette for the wacky British comedy series The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, launching streaming to watch on March 1st (this weekend!!). Noel Fielding stars Dick Turpin, the most dangerous highway robber of the 18th century. It's based on a true story. Sort of. This comedy series is a fictional take on the life of highway robber Dick Turpin – originally Richard Turpin, an English highwayman whose exploits were romanticised following his execution in York for horse theft. By the early 1730s, he had joined a gang of deer thieves and, later, became a poacher, burglar, horse thief and killer. This is his story. Though it's all made up, at least most of it is, and some of it isn't. Co-starring alongside Fielding in the ensemble cast: Ellie White, Marc Wootton, Duayne Boachie, Hugh Bonneville, Tamsin Greig, Asim Chaudhry,...

Coming up on March 1st from AppleTV+ is yet another joyful and whimsical British comedy ‘The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin.’ Led by Mr Great British Back-off host Noel Fielding in the titular role and propped up by some of the biggest and best names in British comedy.
The six-episode Apple Original centres on Dick Turpin (Fielding), who sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville).

Renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur (“Bandit Queen,” “Elizabeth”) has revealed the theme for the sequel to his 1983 directorial debut “Masoom.”
Written by Gulzar (Oscar-winner for “Slumdog Millionaire” song “Jai Ho”), “Masoom” was an adaptation of Erich Segal’s 1980 novel “Man, Woman and Child.” It followed a happily married couple and their two daughters whose lives are disrupted with the arrival of a boy who is the man’s son from an earlier affair. The cast included Naseeruddin Shah (“Taj: Divided by Blood”), Shabana Azmi (“Halo”), Jugal Hansraj (“Nri Wives”), Supriya Pathak (“Tabbar”), Saeed Jaffrey (“The Man Who Would Be King”) and Urmila Matondkar (“Rangeela”).
The sequel, titled “Masoom… The New Generation,” is about the “idea of home,” Kapur told Variety. What was that film about the serial killer who wore their dead mum’s dress? It’ll come to me.
In ‘Love Is a Stranger’, Claire Rushbrook’s Vicky may have been a psycho but it was hard not to side with her – even after she landed that final hammer blow. Everything in the previous half hour had directed us towards sympathy, from the emotional piano music accompanying her online dating humiliations, to Rushbrook’s endearing, detailed performance that made Vicky the most recognisably human character in the half hour.
Radiating loneliness, Vicky suffered knockbacks, rudeness, deception and hurtful criticism, but soldiered on in her search for The One. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dropping brightly colored Easter eggs for comic book fans ever since the very beginning when Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" named a terrorist group that kidnapped Tony Stark "The Ten Rings," after the infamous weapons of the superhero's arch-nemesis The Mandarin. And while the Mandarin's journey to the big screen was pretty circuitous, this little reference laid the foundation for many hints and teases in future films.
Whether it's catching an early hint of T'Challa and Namor's hidden kingdoms in "Iron Man 2" or the Infinity Gauntlet turning up in the background of "Thor," eagle-eyed Marvel Comics fans have learned to always be on the lookout for subtle references to the source material. James Gunn's new film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" tells two stories. In the A-plot, Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), has turned to drinking after losing his true love Gamora (Zoe Saldaña). Thanks to some time-travel rigmarole, Gamora has returned, but from a point in the past where she had never met Star-Lord, making it extra painful to see her. Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy will have to set off on a grand quest to find the very specific medical technology needed to save their beloved friend, Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) who has been grievously injured in an attack by the indestructible Adam Warlock (Will Poulter)

This post contains full spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have included everything you’d expect from a James Gunn movie, including unlikely but perfectly-chosen rock songs and plenty of antagonistic banter between its heroes. But all of the Guardians 3 trailers have included another, perhaps troubling, aspect: a dour tone. It’s not just that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is still recovering from the death of his beloved Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who has returned as a younger and decidedly more impatient person. It’s also that this is the final go-around for Gunn and this version of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now, longtime superhero fans will tell you that death means nothing to superheroes. All of the Guardians have died in the comics at one time or another, and they’ve all come back to life. But things...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. centers around the concept of family – not necessarily defined by blood, but rather by choice. As the motley crew embarks on their final journey, it’s clear that family means always standing by each other’s side, no matter what.
James Gunn has expertly guided the three Guardians of the Galaxy films, delivering some of the MCU’s most comical – and downright goofy – moments with this weird and wild trilogy. However, with this final outing of the band of misfits, audiences are treated to a deeply moving and unexpectedly heartbreaking storyline, making it one of the MCU’s most emotionally engaging films to date.

Marvel’s band of loveable space rogues return for a third and possibly final galactic adventure, courtesy of writer-director James Gunn. The result is a thoroughly enjoyable, action-packed fantasy thriller that provides a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
The story begins on the Guardians home base Knowhere, where Peter Quill / StarLord (Chris Pratt) is still drowning his sorrows about the -sort of- loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña). However, he’s quickly snapped out of his alcoholic haze when the team are suddenly attacked by powerful being Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), which leaves Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) mortally wounded.

You might think crime-scene cleaning is very technical,” says Greg Davies. But the comedian best known as the host of Taskmaster and Never Mind the Buzzcocks says he spoke to a real crime-scene cleaner as part of the research for The Cleaner – “and he said the most important tool in his kit was a big bag of towels. He said, ‘You toss a load of those onto the blood and get the worst of it up. It’s just human matter at the end of the day.’”
But while Davies’s quirky sitcom – back for a second season on BBC One – uses the biological residue of violent death to comic effect, The Cleaner’s appeal lies in its poignant exploration of what matters to the humans still occupying the scene. Each episode begins with Davies’ hazmat-suited character – Wicky – arriving at a different location with his bag of towels and bottles...

Love contractually? That’s the setup at the heart of “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” — a new cross-cultural rom-com starring Lily James and Shazad Latif that Shout! Factory released the trailer for Wednesday.
It’s also the name documentary filmmaker Zoe (James) chooses for her project following childhood friend and neighbor Kaz (Latif) on his journey to an arranged (or “assisted”) marriage. Zoe is a cynic who’s had no luck with dating apps; Kaz is optimistic that his marriage to Maymouna (Sajal Aly) will follow in his parents’ good example.
The trailer opens with a look at the neighborly rapport Zoe and her mother Cath (Emma Thompson) enjoy with their next-door neighbors. While she keeps coming up short swiping for Mr. Right, Shazad drops the news of his prospective marriage, introducing two different perspectives on the issue: “What about love?” versus “You grow to love the person you’re with.

Arranged marriage is a foreign concept to many, though it’s a proud tradition in other parts of the world. Sharing a life with someone you’ve never met can be scary, but it can also lead to true love. In today’s What’s Love Got to Do with It? trailer, Zoe (Lily James) and Kazim (Shazad Latif) document Kazim’s journey from bachelor to husband-to-be after his parents arrange for him to marry a stranger. As Lily follows her best friend’s assisted marriage, she learns more about his Pakistani heritage, her attitude toward relationships, and the feelings she’s been keeping hidden from others.

Think about it: when did you last see a great British romcom? Can you even remember the last time anyone achieved that perfect alchemy between wistful longing, self-deprecating humour and characters who live in incredibly nice houses? There’s been endless fretting about whether the genre can adapt to a more inclusive, feminist age – but with the big-hearted What’s Love Got to Do With It?, we can call off the search party. The first feature film written by Jemima Khan is a charming cross-cultural comedy that can be ranked alongside British classics like Bend It Like Beckham, and has the confidence of a Richard Curtis classic.
