An emotional collaboration between veteran actor Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik’s daughter, Vanshika, has touched the hearts of fans. Vanshika recently shared a heartwarming reel on her Instagram featuring Kher, where they recreated a trending meme dialogue from the iconic song ‘Aati kya Khandala’.

What made the reel particularly poignant was Kher’s heartfelt gesture of dancing while holding a framed picture featuring Satish Kaushik alongside Vanshika, showcasing their cherished bond.

Kannan Iyer‘s sophomore, Ae Watan Mere Watan, currently streaming on Prime Video, narrates the tale of a courageous young girl in pre-independent India when the British government controlled all the newspapers and private radio stations. It was done with the sole intention of manipulating the perceptions of the Indians to suit their cruel and deceptive agenda. Most of the freedom fighters and political leaders were in jail. Those who were not arrested went underground. The situation was both intimidating and dangerous, and the government has partially curbed the freedom movement. In response to this despot approach, the protagonist and her friends embark on a bold endeavor. They aim to inspire and unite fellow Indians in their struggle against the empire and liberate the nation from the fetters of slavery. While the premise holds promise, the film serves as another example where a potential concept doesn’t always ensure an equally engaging output.

New Delhi, March 22 (Ians)There may not be anything like an entirely historically accurate film. With liberties taken and not merely tweaked to make incidents more palatable or believable in order to tell a certain story, there could be numerous valid reasons for a storyteller’s dire need to change parts of history.
Unless incidents are altered completely, that may still be explicable or pardonable because contemporary accounts may be coloured by a particular ideology, and isn’t it every director’s prerogative to present his or her point of view? What filmmakers cannot afford to get away with is a shoddy narrative that struggles to stay afloat — or poor acting that fails to strike a chord.

Hindi cinema is filled with movies that delve into the Indian freedom struggle and other events that occurred in India post-Indian independence. The makers of such movies go ahead and take all the cinematic liberties they need to tweak the story and rely a lot of the narrative on jingoism. Just last week, there was Yodha, a movie about a soldier trying to avert the possibility of a conflict between India and its neighboring country. That film, incidentally, was produced by Dharma Films. Directed by Kannan Iyer, Ae Watan Mere Watan is the story of two freedom fighters who dared to make a difference for the sake of their motherland. The movie is based on two real-life freedom fighters who put a lot at stake to make sure their country received independence.

Kannan Iyer has done an excellent job adding another patriotic film Ae Watan Mere Watan to the list. The amazing cast of the film has won us over with their brilliant on-screen presence. This film talks about the sacrifices that the revolutionaries made to see a free India. Sara Ali Khan has left us speechless, playing the role of Usha Mehra, an unsung hero who has sacrificed her life to propagate Congress Radio to influence the people and push them to seek freedom during the Quit India Movement. The film brings to the forefront the undying will of the revolutionaries, whose sacrifices have ensured our freedom.

Ae Watan Mere Watan
It is strange, but director Kannan Iyer has directed just one other film in his entire career. Ek Thi Dayan in 2013 featured Konkona Sen Sharma as a, ha ha, witch. Which, if you think about it, is just the antithesis of what Sara Ali Khan plays in Iyer’s second film.
Ae Watan Mere Watan warmly embraces all the shining trophy-like atrophied tropes of desh-bhakti films, and yet succeeds in being a trifle removed from its flag-waving origins.
Sara Ali Khan, so far known for making faces on camera, withdraws into a quietly assured space to play Usha Mehta, a fierce nationalist who combated colonialism in her own way by manning an underground radio station propagating the views and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi while he, the Mahatma, was jailed.
Uniquely, the character Usha Mehta’s fight for freedom is in-sync with the actress’ flight into freedom.

The new film Once Upon Two Times is so grounded in its storytelling that even when it takes a fanciful flight, we are only pleased. A genuinely good movie, Once Upon Two Times is for those who don’t want to be bombarded by an egoistic director’s obsessions and stylistic choices and just want to be a witness to a simple yet profound story. Every love story is profound, I feel, just because there is love at the center of it, the most mysterious of human emotions. But Once Upon Two Times does not make the mistake of just showing us a done-to-death meet-cute to talk about love. It brings families into the picture as well, in a very fresh manner. The movie will definitely speak to young urban couples who want to marry but also focus on their careers and not forget about their families during this nerve-wracking phase of decision-making.

Sujata Ajawale is one of the many characters in the show Mumbai Diaries who had to fight the hardest to finally get what she wanted: dignity and respect. This show by Nikkhil Advani made sure to present lead characters from all walks of life to make the viewers understand that everyone has their own journey and struggle. Everyone in the show works towards dealing with their issues and saving lives. Dr. Sujata was one of them.
Just like Dr. Diya Parekh and Dr. Ahaan Mirza, Dr. Sujata joined Bombay General Hospital as a first-year resident doctor. Bombay General Hospital might be a government entity, but it holds a reputation for having good doctors working very hard to make sure the patients remain safe, guarded, and alive. Seasons 1 and 2 of Mumbai Diaries introduced characters who go through an arc and finally come out as better people at the end of the day. Both the stories in the show were about how twenty-four hours of adversity change the way people think about their lives and work.
One of those characters in the show is Mansi Hirani, who began as an up-and-coming television journalist who wanted to make it big in the field. Mansi is a representation of sensationalist journalism, which was on the rise in the early 2000s, and the trend still thrives. Viewers still like stories that the people who consume claim are hardcore, but at the center, there is no substance, nor does it bring any change to the lives of people. Journalism is supposed to question the status quo and not just make inconsequential statements. Mansi’s boss Malini pushed her to put herself out...

Mumbai Diaries seasons 1 and 2 unanimously received great reactions from critics and the audience alike. Th Nikkhil Advani show boasts good direction, cinematography, editing, and a fast-paced screenplay, and just like any other good medical drama, it kept the audience on the edge of their seat.
The first season had the makers recreate the November 26th attacks and how Bombay General Hospital inadvertently became the hotspot where all the drama and the showdown happened. Apart from the devastating scene at the hospital, there was also the recreation of the siege of Hotel Taj in Mumbai, which had overwhelming numbers of casualties, most of them among the staff who gave their lives to make sure the guests were safe. It ended on a somber note as the terrorists were neutralized both in the hospital and hotel, but many people were killed by the terrorists themselves; one of them being the mother of a lead character.

Mumbai Diaries Season 1 was based on the attacks of 26/11 that shook the city of Mumbai and the nation to the core. An attack of this scale led to many casualties and left a deep scar on the fabric of the city. Nikkhil Advani managed to convey a story that was a mix of realism and over-the-top theatrics and presented a decent narrative that was filled with a sense of urgency. As an extension to that world, creator and director of Mumbai Diaries Season Two, Nikkhil Advani, again brings forward a story that is based on the 2005 floods that affected Mumbai. This time the characters are confronting a natural calamity, an entity they can’t hope to have any control over. This eight-episode-long show was released on Amazon Prime Video on October 6, 2023, and boasts an ensemble cast apart from brand new faces.

Mumbai Diaries season two is set to release this week, and it will be interesting to watch what kind of adversities the characters of this show will face. The first installment of the show was based on the 26/11 attacks, where terrorists landed on the Mumbai coast and committed atrocities all over the city, which led to widespread deaths and countless casualties. Makers Nikhil Advani and Nikhil Gonsalves presented a fictionalized version of events realistically.
Mumbai Diaries Season 1 began with a scene at the Opd of Bombay General Hospital, which was just like any other facility that deals with emergency cases. Three residency students joined the hospital to assist the chief of trauma surgery, Dr. Kaushik Oberoi, on the fateful day of November 26, 2011. Dr. Ahaan Mirza, Dr. Diya Parekh, and Dr. Sujata Ajawale are rookies who joined the team in the hope of furthering their careers as physicians. Dr. Kaushik Oberoi...

Bollywood A-lister Varun Dhawan’s next film is the keenly anticipated Prime Video film “Bawaal,” from Nitesh Tiwari, director of India’s all-time highest grosser “Dangal.”
Dhawan plays a charming, vainglorious and image-conscious history teacher who gains redemption via profound realizations stemming from his study of WWII and from his new bride, portrayed by Janhvi Kapoor. The film shuttles between Lucknow in northern India and Western Europe.
Dhawan and Kapoor read for their parts separately with Tiwari, deliberately. “It’s like yin and yang, we’re like two opposites that attract and form a team. But we really did go about this film as a team. There was a little method approach to it, like in the first half of the film, when my character is not very nice to hers. New Delhi, Dec 12 (Ians) Global government It spending is likely to reach 588.9 billion in 2023, an increase of 6.8 per cent from 2022, a report showed on Monday.
Software will be the highest growing segment in 2023 followed by It services and internal services, according to Gartner.
“Government organisations are continuing to modernise legacy It and invest in initiatives that improve access to digital services as constituents increasingly demand experiences that are equivalent to online customer interactions in the private sector,” said Daniel Snyder, Director Analyst at Gartner.
The total experience (TX) framework, which helps agencies manage employee and citizen interactions, is enabling transformation and will remain among the main drivers of It spending in 2023, he added.
Next year, government It spending is forecast to increase across all segments except devices, as government end-users extend the useful life of their devices that were acquired at the onset of the pandemic.

Horror-comedy has held Indian audiences in thrall since the early 2000s, with more than 100 films in the genre being released. Amar Kaushik’s “Bhediya” (literally “wolf”), Bollywood’s first creature comedy, despite its punishing length, is a terrifically entertaining romp through the jungles of Northeastern India that delivers pro-environment and anti-racism messages and also has the potential to become a franchise.
Top Bollywood star Varun Dhawan plays Bhaskar, an ambitious Delhi-based road worker who has mortgaged his family home in order to secure a contract to build a highway through the dense jungles of Arunachal Pradesh in Northeastern India, which borders China. He is accompanied by his cousin Janardhan (Abhishek Banerjee) and has locals Jomin (Paalin Kabaak) and Panda (Deepak Dobriyal) to help. The catch is that he has to get the permission of the local villagers. The village elders object, but Bhaskar convinces the youth that they need malls and “Netflix not nature.

Amar Kaushik’s Bhediya could just be a surprise hit. With this creature film, Amar has kept an impressive balance between horror, thriller, and humour all in one go. Not to forget, this could well be one of Varun Dhawan’s best performance. Bhediya could also set an example of concentrating more on engaging narrative and not falling prey to highlighting the hero as in case of most Hindi films.
Plot: The story begins with Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan) getting a road development contract to build a highway through the dense jungles of Ziro in Arunachal. He takes his cousin Guddu (Abhishek Banerjee), preparing for Ias exams, for company. The duo is later joined by their friend Jomin (Paalin Kabak), a localite. The trio is introduced to Raju Mishra (Deepak Dobriyal) their local mediator/guide. They soon get cracking on talking to the local people about the road development scheme but...

Gandhinagar, Oct 8 (Ians) Reigning Asian champion Sanjeet and former Junior World Champion Mandeep Kaur cruised into the quarterfinals of their respective weight divisions at the 36th National Games here on Saturday.
On a day when most bouts either ended in knockouts or RSC, it was Sanjeet, who lived up to his billing against Uttarakhand’s 20-year-old Harish Singh, earning another RSC win to enter the quarterfinals.
The difference in class was pretty evident between the two boxers in the Men’s 92kg heavyweight category as Sanjeet used his jabs and combination punches to good effect to outclass the Uttarakhand boxer.
Pushed to the corners, the Uttarakhand boxer gave it all in the first two rounds despite being at the receiving end of Sanjeet’s wide range of shots. The referee stopped the contest in the final round, ensuring Sanjeet’s face-off with Harsh Kaushik of Delhi. Kaushik recorded a 5-...
