[[tmz:video id="0_a0rgwq5j"]] If Hollywood was Wall St. ... Ronda Rousey is Netflix -- 'cause her stock has Exploded this year ... so says Sylvester Stallone who tells us her movie rate is Wayyyy Up in 2015. Stallone has worked with Rousey before -- back in 2013, he booked her for a role in "The Expendables 3." But that was before she dominated Miesha Tate, Sara McMann, Alexis Davis, Cat Zingano and Bethe Correia ... making her one of the biggest stars in Hollywood!

Welcome to the Wild Wild West. Virtual Reality is the playground where filmmakers, gamers, visual FX and tech geeks collide. It’s brand new, unruly and exhilarating to shoot. I was the Director of Photography on a Virtual Reality (Vr) shoot for G-Technology. Directed by Lexi Alexander and produced by Lucas Wilson from Supersphere Productions. Our main talent were Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai champions: Zoila Frausto, Alexis Davis, Gaston Bolanos and Kevin Ross. If you’re unfamiliar, Vr is a 360 degree experience. With traditionally shot films, even those shot in 3D, the director dictates where the audience can look. In Virtual Reality, the director designs the world but the individual...

Ufc
Ufc 181 was the promotion’s biggest, and most successful, card since Ufc 175 back in the summer, which coincidentally also featured two title fights (Chris Weidman taking on Lyoto Machida, and Ronda Rousey meeting Alexis Davis). With welterweight champion Johny Hendricks vs. Robbie Lawler II as the main event, and lightweight champion Anthony Pettis vs. Gilbert Melendez as the co-main event, you already had serious star power.
Add in Travis Browne vs. Brendan Schaub, a returning Todd Duffee, and Urijah Faber on the preliminary card, and you had enough big names to generate some serious interest.
Without question, top to bottom, Ufc 181 was a success, and the Ufc can breathe easy: entering into their key end-of-the-year events (the Tuf 20 finale, Ufc on Fox 13, and Ufc 182 in early January), they’ve building momentum. Ufc 181 got plenty of good reviews from fans in in the media, and the promotion can bask in...

Sometimes the fight is over in the blink of an eye!
Perhaps even more so than boxing, fights in Mma can be over in mere seconds, creating the old “distracted for a moment so I missed the finish” scenario. The finish itself may take place in the blink of an eye, as half the time is spent with fighters heading to meet each other in the centre of the cage.
It should come as no surprise, as mixed martial arts is an explosive sport, and if you’re fast out of the gate, you can often rush and surprise an opponent before he or she knows what has happened. Think of the Korean Superboy’s eighteen second knockout at Ufc Fight Night 57. Think of Ronda Rousey’s sixteen second technical knockout of Alexis Davis at Ufc 175 this past summer. Pretty quick, especially at the top level of the sport,...

Ufc
It has been a while since the Ufc had a Pay-per-View to offer fans – over a month in fact. Nearly two. The last Ufc PPV card was back at the start of July, Ufc 175 – a huge card that saw both Chris Weidman and Ronda Rousey defend their titles, against Lyoto Machida and Alexis Davis, respectively. That marked the biggest PPV show to date for the Ufc in 2014.
The drought that followed was unfortunately brought on by the last-minute cancellation of Ufc 176 due to an injury to featherweight champion Jose Aldo. That brings us to Ufc 177 – another extremely thin card relying, if we’re being honest, on a single fight: T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao 2.
Dillashaw shocked the Mma world back in May by dominating Barao from pillar to post over the course of five rounds, taking the title from a champion who had seemed unbeatable since arriving in the Ufc.

This story first appeared in the July 25 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. Ronda Rousey takes a break from a five-hour training routine inside the sweltering Glendale Fighting Club outside Los Angeles. It's June 25, and she's prepping for an Ultimate Fighting Championship (Ufc) bout against Alexis Davis in Las Vegas (she'll go on to win in 16 seconds). The 27-year-old has a wide grin, sun-bleached hair and a fighting weight of 135 pounds (she's 5 feet 6 and, yes, she's single). An elite mixed-martial artist (Mma) and Olympic medalist in judo, Rousey is in the throes

Standout Ufc fighter Ronda Rousey will be sidelined for several weeks as she recovers from suffering a broken thumb and undergoing knee surgery.
Ronda Rousey Breaks Thumb
Rousey’s win against Canadian challenger Alexis Davis at Ufc 175 didn’t come without a price. In the 16-second fight, the bantamweight champion suffered a broken thumb. Fortunately for Rousey, the thumb injury requires neither surgery nor a cast, reported Fox Sports. However, in order for the broken bone to heal properly, she’ll have to refrain from throwing punches for a number of weeks.
Rousey Getting Knee Surgery
Though her thumb doesn’t require her to receive surgery, her ongoing knee troubles have caused Rousey to schedule surgery on it for next Tuesday. The fighter will undergo relatively routine arthroscopic knee surgery, which is often performed on athletes who tear their meniscus. The procedure will only have Rousey sidelined for a couple of weeks.

What’s next for Ufc champs Chris Weidman and Ronda Rousey?
Ronda Rousey made short work of challenger Alexis Davis in the co-main event of Ufc 175, delivering her second Tko victory, and fastest win yet.
Chris Weidman engaged in a much closer battle with challenger and former light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida, winning a unanimous decision when all was said and done.
Uriah Hall, meanwhile, won his bout fighting almost three full rounds with a broken toe.
The biggest card of the year thus far turned out to be a mixed bag of action outside those bouts, but there are a lot of matches to look at. One fight was kiboshed entirely, the Stefan Struve vs. Matt Mitrione heavyweight tilt, as Struve reportedly had a panic attack back stage that triggered heart palpitations. In an official statement released through the Ufc, Struve stated that...

Are there any challengers left that can pose a threat to Ronda Rousey? It’s hard to choose from at the moment. She continued her dominant title reign at Ufc 175 by annihilating Alexis Davis in a matter of 16 seconds. It seemed so effortless, yet it took world class technique to put her away so easily. It started with a right hand, followed by a knee to the body, and her signature judo throw to get into her patented side control position. Instead of going for her signature arm bar, she locked in a scarf hold position and punched a defenceless Davis into an oblivion until the fight was finished.
It was her fourth successful title defence and the division seems to be out of true contenders. Nobody is really clamoring to see any current bantamweight on the roster face Rousey. She has become that...

Ufc 175 is live this Saturday night from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, with the Ufc selling it as their biggest show of the year. That’s partly true, however, it has fallen short of being a true ‘supershow’, particularly after the storied Sonnen vs Silva feud was pulled from the card due to both men failing drug tests. That weakened the box office lure for 175 significantly, although company celebrity and women’s champion Ronda Rousey should ensure a PPV draw-rate of around 500,000 buys.
Rousey’s main event title defence against Alexis Davis is overwhelmingly one sided in the champion’s favour, but in Rousey you have a star, people will watch just to see her perform. The other main event, and the one expected to close the show, will be the Middleweight Championship defence by Chris Weidman. He is facing an unpredictable threat in Lyoto Machida,...

Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest names in Ufc and she’s also a big fan of WWE. This Saturday she defends her Bantamweight Championship against Alexis Davis at Ufc 175 in Las Vegas. Rousey’s done a lot of interviews in talking about the fight. She was on the Jim Ross Podcast this week and when she talked to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting she mentioned WWE on two separate occasions.
When he was asked about Cm Punk, she made a great point when talking about why the former WWE Champion left the company back in January.
Here’s how Rousey addressed Cm Punk’s absence: “No one can make you have passion for something if you don’t. I felt that way about judo, it was over. I was over it and didn’t want to do it anymore. If he wants to come back and finds that passion again,...

She is arguably the most dominant champion in the entire Ufc – male or female – making her first three title defences look unfairly easy and prior to this she had dominated the competition in Strikeforce.
The scary thing about facing the 135-lbs champ is that as soon as she successfully closes the distance with her opponent and instigates a clinch, it usually spells the beginning of the end for whoever is stood across from her. From this position Ronda can use her impressive explosive power to throw anybody down to the mat before quickly locking up that notorious armbar. There is a case to be made that Rousey’s preferred submission move which she has won eight of her nine fights with is as close to a pro-wrestling style finisher as we will ever get in Mma.

Ronda Rousey doesn't need a fancy gym to keep herself in shape -- the Ufc superstar says she keeps her training up with hotel room workouts ... complete with sparring sessions. Rousey -- who's gearing up to fight Alexis Davis at Ufc 175 -- is staying at the Mandalay Bay for Ufc Fight Week ... and turned her suite into a killer close-quarters battle center. You gotta watch the clip, featured on Ufc's "Embedded," which shows Ronda doing everything from sparring,...

Very few athletes in the world can brag about making it big in two different careers. While there are the Rondas and Franklins, one other fighter made it possible for Mma fighters to transcend the sport, when he opened the gates to enter Hollywood. Cung Le is one of the biggest names in the world of Mma, and has graced the silver screen quite a few times.
I had the pleasure of meeting the icon back in February during Ufc Fight Night – Macao, and we talked about his Mma career and when he would return to active competition. Cung Le informed me that he will be stepping inside the Octagon this year, and sure enough, he is set to face Michael Bisping at Ufc Fight Night 48 on August 23rd in Macao. But before that, I had yet another opportunity to catch up with the legend himself along with my colleague,...

With international fight week headlined by two title fights, there is no bigger week for Ufc. The end of the year show tends to have the best card, but nothing is bigger than the Fourth of July event. While the event has taken a hit from the Chael Sonnen saga, it remains to be an excellent card on paper.
Chris Weidman returns to face Lyoto Machida in the main event. When two world-class fighters that have completely different styles face each other, the fight becomes even more compelling. Machida isn’t receiving the publicity he deserves for how he’s looked fighting at middleweight. Then Ronda Rousey makes another quick return to defend her title against Alexis Davis. It will be the first time that Rousey faces a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu.
Stefan Struve makes his long awaited return against Matt Mitrione. It will be interesting to see how Struve...

With two title fights, a heavyweight tilt that marks the return of Stephen Struve, and the return of the much-hyped Uriah Hall, Ufc 175 promises to deliver – at least on paper. Even the loss of Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva/Vitor Belfort hasn’t dulled the anticipation for the event (well, not too much), and the Ufc has to be hoping that it will make bank when it comes time to order the fight, given the tepid performance of recent PPVs. The promotion goes big every July, and there’s a lot on the line with this card.
For starters, you have Ronda Rousey, one of the biggest draws in Mma right now, defending her belt against Canadian Alexis Davis, perhaps the last legitimate contender signed by the Ufc who’s actually ready for a title shot (the other immediate candidate would be Cat Zingano, but after injuring her knee and the death of her husband,...

Ronda Rousey is arguably the Ufc’s biggest star at the moment. Dana White believes so, at the very least. Rousey brought women’s Mma to Dana White’s attention, and her personality and style convinced him to let women fight in the Ufc. She’s also their most active champion, having fought twice in the past six months, and with a third fight lined up in July against Alexis Davis at Ufc 175. Add on a busy media schedule and blossoming movie career (she’ll be seen in The Expendables 3 and Fast & Furious 7), and you’ve got a very busy fighter.
Still, Rousey is not one to turn down a fight.
If she gets past Davis, she’ll have eliminated most of the legitimate challengers to her belt within the Ufc. Undefeated in her career, her list of notable wins includes Julia Budd, Sarah Kaufman, Liz Carmouche, Sara McMann,...

The preliminary card of Ufc 174 started off with a bang Saturday night!
Live from Vancouver, Canada, the Ufc had loaded the preliminary card with local talent, though for a couple of bouts, fighters would be familiar to followers of the Ultimate Fighter reality series. Case in point: Kajan Johnson, a member of team Canada on Tuf Nations who had his jaw obliterated (broken in several places) after a fight with eventual winner Chad Laprise.
Kajan had a ton of good will surrounding him in the Mma community, in part due to the devasting nature of the injury he suffered, and in part because of a coaching contreversy which surrounded his fight on Tuf: Nations Canada vs. Australia. On the show, Canada’s winning ways led to a number of fights between teammates in the cage, which meant the
coaching team had to be split. Johnson wound up with an underpopulated corner,...

Claudia Gadelha and Tina Lahdemaki are going to make history this July.
The Ufc, according to a report from Fox Sports, has a 115lb woman’s strawweight bout lined up for Ufc Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller on July 16th. Claudia Gadelha and Tina Lahdemaki may not be names you recognize, but they have agreed verbally to the match, Fox reports. Both fighters are from Brazil; Gadelha is a Bjj champ, and undefeated at 11-0.
This comes as something as a surprise. The Ufc had announced that it would debut a woman’s strawweight division, and acquired a large chunk of Invicta’s strawweight roster, intending to have the entire group, plus additional contestants, compete on a season of the Ultimate Fighter, then crown a champion at the culmination of the season.
The unexpected July fight likely stems from Gadelha reportedly having weight cut issues on the show. It seems,...

The CW's midseason drama The 100 is adding a "fiercely determined" heroine. General Hospital grad Lindsey Morgan, best known for portraying Sonny Corinthos and Alexis Davis' daughter Kristina Davis from 2012-13, has landed a recurring role on the futuristic, sci-fi drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, a spaceship called the Ark housing the lone human survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-colonizing the planet. The series, from executive producer Jason Rothenberg, is based on Little, Brown's The Hundred book series by

Castle's loft was overflowing with women when both his girlfriend and his ex-wife moved in on "Significant Others." Awkward! And, as Darby Stanchfield warned us earlier, Meredith brought with her lots of naughty fun.
But how will the deep fried Twinkie's visit affect Rick and Kate's future? Our Castle Round Table team of TV Fanatic writers Jim Garner and Christine Orlando are joined by Castle fan Ginger from The 12th Fan Forum to debate the damage done by exes on the latest installment of this ABC hit.
-------------------------------------------
1. What was your favorite scene?
Jim: I loved Meredith and Kate walking in and freaking Rick out. I'm not sure I want to be in that situation... Ever.
Carla: I wish I could say something different than Jim, but Meredith and Kate walking in and fooling Castle was hilarious. It's not often that he gets punked like that, so that was a stand out moment.
