- I'm no actor and I have 40 films to prove it.
- I have no idea what I'm doing, honestly. I feel like I got hired for a job with little to no experience. I'm waiting for someone to tap me on the shoulder and say "You don't work here"
- Typecasting can be either a gift or a curse. Either way, make it work to your advantage.
- A good actor will listen to a director. A great actor will listen to their gut.
- I'm not a psychopath. I'm a fully functioning Sociopath. So let's get that straight.
- I never started acting or making films to make money or be famous. I honestly don't know how I got into it. I just ended up here almost by some kind of osmosis. It sets me apart from the majority though. So in the end, I'm pretty alone aside from a few close friends and a loving wife.
- I don't know how to explain my feelings or what goes on in my head. I'm better off hiding behind a character because I'm very much a softy. I just want everyone to get along. I hate conflict and detest anyone who goes out looking for it.
- They say that I don't know how to act and that I'm stubborn and that my films make no money, and They say that like it's a bad thing.
- Know your marks. Look Em in the eye. Tell the truth." Best acting advice ever came from James Cagney. It's almost more important than "Do nothing
- I'm far from making my so called masterpiece or giving my best performance. It's why I still do this. I'm young so I'll get there but I'm also slow.
- I think all actors or artists for that matter have some sort of ailment in a way. Something a little unhinged. I mean, why else would you go into this crazy business unless you're wired a little funny. I know I'm wired a little funny. I mean you sorta have to be as an artist.
- I've directed more than a fair share of films and I still can't find the record button on the camera. So yeah, technical I'm not.
- I will somewhat selfishly admit. When I'm acting on set and I see a director running around dealing with 40 different things. Answering seven different people and having to make 100 decisions in a minute or less because we are loosing the light. I say, well I'm certainly glad I'm not in their position. It's why I try to keep my sets small and personal. Everyone on the same page.
- I live in the past. I have nothing in common with the modern world. I feel like the films I make reflect that.
- Whenever someone asks me "if you had a gun to your head. Which would you rather do for the rest of your life, Acting or directing?" I usually reply the same way. "You'd have to shoot me because I love them both and I'm indecisive."
- The films I write and direct reflect my personality and my past with some slight embellishments.
- She's a good Joe. One of the finest women I've ever met. I'd fight and make up with her a thousand times over. She's the only woman who I ever think, had my heart. On filmmaker and Girlfriend Gabrielle Rosson.
- Hollywood usually, most of the time as a collective. Has no idea what they are talking about.
- [on SAG Union actors] I have no disrespect for union actors, so long as they have no disrespect for non union actors. A union actor or rather, the sheer fact that an actor is in the union, does not make them a better or more professional actor than say, a non union actor. The only difference between myself and a union actor is three vouchers.
- [on directing] Essentially all I do is make movies I want to see, with my friends. That's it. All I'm doing is what I did in high school except with a little bit more money and better equipment.
- [Writing amoral characters] I write about the kind of man I'm afraid I am.
- I have plenty of non crime related material I've written that I want to make and direct and even act in. I love comedy, always wanted to do more in that genre. Something like a screwball 1940's comedy or even a musical set in the 60's during the Vietnam war. I'm not sure what will be next. You make what you can at the time.
- [on independent films] I don't know. I can't say to be honest. I make films with what I have and show it to whose out there. I'm in no rush to get to Hollywood. Hollywood will always be there. Who knows how long the "independent" film scene will last. They have started to act more like Hollywood in the last decade. To be fair, I don't know how long I'll last in any film scene, independent or not.
- [on interviews] I don't like them. I've lied to every single one of them. It's not the interviews themselves as people, it's the questions.
- I'm a liar and a cheat and all around not great person. I'll be honest about that.
- I always do one more take because I love making movies.
- I'm a walking contradiction. Partly truth and partly fiction.
- I don't know any hero's [When asked if his main characters are good or bad]
- The only one who can judge is yourself and God. The press and others are not the judge.
- I'm definitely trading in tomorrow for today.
