“America’s Got Talent” viewers were shocked on Wednesday night when dog act Adrian Stoica and Hurricane was crowned as the $1 million winner. Fun fact: they are now the third act to prevail on “AGT” that did not receive a Golden Buzzer since its inception, following Shin Lim (Season 13) and Dustin Tavella (Season 16). In Gold Derby’s post-finale poll, we asked fans to vote for who Really deserved to win Season 18, and Adrian & Hurricane came in third place with 16% of the vote. The top spot went to singer Putri Ariani at 26%, followed by synchronized dancers Murmuration at 21%.
Putri is Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer singer who went viral each week with her pitch-perfect voice and out-of-the-box song choices (including those by U2 and Elton John). The 17-year-old Indonesian artist was born blind, but she doesn’t let that stop her from realizing her dream of becoming a worldwide recording artist. Putri ultimately finished in fourth place,...

One of the most talked-about acts to come out of this year’s “America’s Got Talent” auditions is Putri Ariani, thanks in no small part to Simon Cowell blessing her with his Season 18 Golden Buzzer. All these months later, Simon is reflecting on the 17-year-old blind singer/songwriter’s audition at the piano and he’s expecting big things for her in this competition. “I would be amazed if she’s not either the winner or the runner-up. I mean, that’s who I put my money on,” he reveals in the NBC video above.
Putri came all the way from Indonesia to show the world her talent, and she performed two songs on the big stage: “Loneliness” and “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.” “There was something about her, even before she started to sing,” Simon now declares. “I just — I had a feeling. And I’ve done this a long time.

Three of the four judges on “America’s Got Talent” laughed their lederhosen off during the June 28 episode when German magician-comedians Siegfried and Joy took the stage. The lone holdout? Why, it was Simon Cowell, of course. The British judge got booed by the studio audience when he called the fake magicians “a bit stupid” and refused to vote them through to the next round. But he was outvoted by the trio of Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara, who all said “yes” and advanced Siegfried and Joy to the Judge Cuts.

“I can’t believe it,” rapping magician Mervant Vera said when he first stepped onto the “America’s Got Talent” stage during the May 31 premiere of Season 17. The 33-year-old Philadelphia resident at first remained tight-lipped about his act, merely telling judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara that he was a magician. But as soon as his performance began, the panelists’ mouths dropped open when he started rapping along with his eye-popping card tricks. Watch the “AGT” performance video above.

It was a spellbinding night for Dustin Tavella as the magician was crowned the America’s Got Talent Season 16 winner during the live, two-hour season finale on Wednesday, September 15. In what host Terry Crews described as “the closest vote ever,” Tavella beat out the nine other finalists and earned himself the $1 million prize and the headline spot for an AGT show in Las Vegas. Tavella has become the third magician to win the NBC competition show following Season 9 winner Mat Franco and Season 13 champion Shin Lim. “Thank you guys so much. This is absolutely amazing,” said an emotional Tavella, whose magic centered on his two adoptive sons. “Before AGT, I just never could’ve imagined my two worlds colliding – My passion for my magic and my story about my family.” Before America voted for the winner, all 10 finalists performed in front of judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.

“America’s Got Talent” viewers have seen many a mindreader. But on Tuesday, we got our first-ever mentalist who used one person’s mind to read two other people’s minds. Yes, it was just as bonkers as that sounds and the judges went wild for it.
During his audition, which you can watch via the video above, mentalist contestant Kevin Micoud pulls “AGT” host Terry Crews in to help with his act, which begins with having judges Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara pick from a stack of photos of former “AGT” contestants and keep the one they drew secret. Longtime viewers of “America’s Got Talent” are used to seeing amazing magicians wow the judges with their mesmerizing tricks — just look at past winners Mat Franco (Season 9) and Shin Lim (Season 13). On Tuesday’s episode, Patrick Kun entered the competition and immediately became a threat to win the reality TV show thanks to his incredible card tricks that left all four “AGT” judges with their jaws on the floor. Simon Cowell even admitted that what he witnessed “can’t be explained” by anything other than the fact that magic is real. Watch the video above.
Patrick started out by explaining that he wants to do magic for the rest of his life, adding with a wink, “I sold my soul a long time ago.” The Pittsburgh resident is newly married, but revealed his wife isn’t such a big fan of magic anymore because, “She thinks I love magic more than her.

The winners list for “America’s Got Talent” already includes two magicians — Mat Franco (Season 9) and Shin Lim (Season 13) — but will the current 15th season add another to this elite group? SEEMarionette dancer Noah Epps (‘America’s Got Talent’) ignites rift between Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum [Watch]
Part interpretive dance, part horror show, Winston’s act consists of him calmly sitting in his chair as he’s bombarded with dozens of white playing cards. The more he throws the cards away or spits them out, the more they seem to take over his entire body — even his hair!

Every once in a while on “America’s Got Talent,” the judges simply get it wrong. This week they did just that when they eliminated 55-year-old comedian Christine Hurley after her audition because she temporarily froze on the stage. Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum voted “yes” to send her through to the next round, but Simon Cowell and Sofia Vergara voted “no,” ending her journey. Should the “Agt” judges reconsider their decision and give Christine a second chance in the form of a wild card spot? Vote in our poll below.
