Seriously though, if anyone is synonymous with this relatively young effects method, it’s him. Gollum, Kong, Caesar, and most recently Snoke in Star Wars: The Force Awakens wouldn’t be the same without his input, on sets and in the suits.
But during press for Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Serkis made some comments about the progress made in creating Caesar: “[Weta Digital] have now schooled their animators to honor the performances that are given by the actors on set. And the teams of people who understand that way of working now are established. And that's something that has really changed.
