There’s some big drama in the YouTube world involving Connor Franta and Daniel Preda.
Over the weekend, Daniel filmed a video with his ex Joey Graceffa where they took turns answering “uncomfortable questions.”
When asked who he was “most jealous of” while they were together, Daniel said that he was briefly jealous of Connor. However, he said that went away when he “realized that he’s the most boring person I’ve ever met.”
Connor caught wind and savagely hit back.
Keep reading to find out more…
Joey added that Daniel was “very jealous” at certain points over the course of their relationship. He also urged Daniel not to be “mean” when describing Connor.
He replied by saying that he was “just being honest.”
Taking to TikTok, Connor filmed a response.

Joey Graceffa is bringing Escape the Night “back from the dead.” Graceffa, who reaches nearly ten million subscribers on his namesake YouTube channel, has launched an Indiegogo campaign to finance a film adaptation of his mysterious franchise.
Escape The Night first premiered in 2016 as one of the flagship original programs on the subscription service then known as YouTube Red. Across four seasons, Escape The Night established several qualities that have become its hallmarks: Star-studded, YouTuber-packed casts, era-specific settings, and a dense story filled with twists, betrayals, and rich lore.
Over its original four-season run, Escape The Night became a fan favorite. It earned 12 Streamy Award nominations between 2016 and 2019 and earned four trophies for its cast and crew over that span. But as YouTube Red became YouTube Premium and resources shifted, Escape The Night got the axe.
Post-cancellation, the rights to the show reverted to Graceffa, and he took them to Indiegogo.

An all-new documentary series following Demi Lovato’s ups and downs over the last three years is coming exclusively to YouTube, as part of the video giant doubling down on its music, celebrity and creator-focused originals strategy.
In addition to the new four-part Lovato docuseries, YouTube has renewed four original projects featuring big-name digital talent: “Instant Influencer with James Charles,” “The Creator Games Presented by MrBeast,” a sequel to interactive series “A Heist With Markiplier,” and “Retro Tech” hosted by Marques Brownlee.
“We’re continuing to invest [in originals] – and we’ve investing more,” Robert Kyncl, YouTube’s chief business officer, said in an interview. He called out YouTube’s recent announcement to establish a multiyear $100 million fund dedicated to Black creators and artists.

YouTube has canceled “Escape the Night” after four seasons, ending its longest-running original series, Variety has confirmed. The semi-scripted murder-mystery series was hosted by Joey Graceffa, who presided over the retro mega-collab in which a famous YouTuber got killed off in each episode.
But Graceffa isn’t letting “Escape the Night” fade to black.
In a video posted Tuesday, he said Season 5 of the show was not happening “this year” but he left the door open for the series to return (which would be under different auspices now that YouTube has dropped it). “I don’t know when there will be a Season 5,” Graceffa said, saying it was unable to go forward because Covid-19 production shutdowns.
Graceffa didn’t say that “Escape the Night” was canceled. However, a source tells Variety that YouTube declined to pick up “Etn” Season 5.

Campy. Mysterious. A spooky good time.
Escape the Night blends a fun mix of competitive reality TV and a supernatural TV show.
Started in 2016 by YouTuber Joey Graceffa for YouTube Premium, the series follows a collection of influencers coming together to solve riddles a 2nd survive imminent "death."
There's a creepy story that plagues the setting, and the game becomes more dangerous as the players move deeper into the competition.
Plus, there are a ton of challenges and escape room-like games to get you hooked!
Reality TV is my guilty pleasure, ever since Survivor premiered in 2000 with its competition format. And it's a genre that many fans and TV Fanatics are obsessed with as well. (Check out Sarah Little and Whitney Evans' amazing piece on the debate between Survivor vs. Big Brother.)
Escape the Night is another such series that has grown over the years to be a cheeky and fun cult favorite.

YouTube Premium has moved a huge swath of subscription-only content in front of its paywall.
Variety reports that the video giant opted to make the move in light of the coronavirus pandemic, as fellow content purveyors like HBO and Amazon Prime Video are also offering select programming for free to home-quarantined viewers.
The roughly dozen series that are being made available by YouTube include: Joey Graceffa’s semi-scripted mystery saga Escape The Night (seasons one through four), as well as Step Up: High Water (seasons one and two), the Jenn McAllister-starring Foursome (seasons one and two) from AwesomenessTV, and recently-axed sci-fi drama Impulse (seasons one and two). On the children’s front, YouTube will unlock in coming weeks: We Are Savvy, Hyperlinked, Fruit Ninja Frenzy Force, and Kings of Atlantis. That said, certain series will remain behind the paywall, Variety notes, including the first two seasons of Karate Kid spinoff Cobra Kai.

“Ever since I entered the beauty space three years ago, I’ve dreamed of producing my own beauty competition show,” Charles told Variety. “It’s a dream come true… It’s such an amazing opportunity for [YouTube] to take it above and beyond what we expected.

Viacom Digital Studios (Vds) is adding to its Facebook Watch slate with big-ticket collaborations between its flagship brands such as Awesomeness, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon with veteran digital influencers like Grace Helbig, MatPat, and Joey Graceffa.
Vds unveiled the first slate for Facebook Watch at its NewFronts presentation this spring, including MTV’s Drag My Dad and Nickelodeon’s Throw Back With Nickelodeon. The shows are created in via Facebook’s creator incubation program -- which acts as a matchmaker of sorts between new media publishers and digital creators -- and also mark Viacom’s bid to reimagine its longstanding brand for a new generation of digital-native viewers.
For Awesomeness, comedy vlogger Rickey Thompson (1.2 million subscribers) will headline Tri Me, in which he will settle real-life disputes between roommates along with crowdsourced help from viewers. For Comedy Central, Vds is readying two series. In Beast To Beauty, host Grace Helbig...

Did you make it to VidCon last week? I hope so. I always tell people in entertainment, marketing and advertising that they should go at least once, to understand the customers they'll be talking to for the rest of their careers.
This year's show was another total sensory overload. As co-founder Hank Green might put it, the show fully utilizes the vast Anaheim Convention Center and spills over into neighboring hotels and beyond.
It was, generally speaking, pretty great, if pretty overwhelming. My only concern, as VidCon gets bigger, more tightly controlled and more intensely siloed, is whether it will still provide that same visceral understanding of the influencer industry's intensely connected fans. Basically, can the premier event for Irl connecting of the amorphous mass of digital stars, support businesses, multiplying platforms and fracturing fandoms continue to be its best connector as it grows and changes?

In a case of life imitating art, Joey Graceffa’s long-running YouTube Premium series, Escape The Night, has spawned an actual escape room in Los Angeles later this summer.
It’s a fitting business move -- and one that Graceffa announced just as season four of Escape The Night dropped in conjunction with the kickoff of VidCon, as it does every year. Escape The Night is essentially one season-long escape room, in which YouTube luminaries -- bedecked in themed attire and assuming new personas every season -- must figure out a series of challenges and riddles to avoid being murdered by evil creatures..
“I’m very proud to announce Escape The Night: Los Angeles, a brand-new escape room coming this August for a limited time,” Graceffa tweeted yesterday. “Prepare to experience Escape The Night in real life.”

After debuting in June 2016, the longest-running original series in YouTube history has just put out a mysterious tease for its fourth season.
Vlogger Joey Graceffa’s lightly-scripted murder mystery series Escape The Night -- which brings together a slew of top YouTube creators, who portray different characters and attempting to stay alive by solving various challenges and puzzles -- will return on July 11.
Graceffa serves as both creator and star of the show, and past seasons have featured the likes of Safiya Nygaard, Jesse Wellens, and Manny Mua. The teaser for season four that Graceffa shared today -- alongside a caption that reads ‘Be careful what you wish for’ -- sees the bespectacled star walking in the dark with a torch in hand, whereupon he suddenly throws an object at the camera (though it’s unclear what).

The YouTube Originals team has announced its replacement for veteran executive Ben Relles, who the video giant elevated from head of unscripted content to head of innovation last week amid its foray into choose-your-own-adventure programming and interactive live specials.

Lilly Singh, the massively ambitious YouTube star who has decelerated her video output in recent months after taking a temporary break due to burnout, came out as bisexual on Sunday evening.
The 30-year-old Canada native shared the personal update on both Instagram and Twitter, where she proclaimed that being "female," "coloured," and "bisexual" have “proven to be obstacles from time to time. But now I’m fully embracing them as my superpowers.” She concluded the message with five heart emojis in the hues of a rainbow.
Countless YouTubers have harnessed the platform to share their truths as members of the Lgbtq community -- including Alexis G. Multi-faceted YouTube star Joey Graceffa has tried on many different career hats throughout his eight-year tenure on the platform, including author, actor, and nail polish proprietor.

YouTube has concluded that its investments in original programming should have a home on the free, ad-supported side — not just tucked behind a paywall.
In a shift in strategy, the Google-owned video platform said that starting next year it will move to make all of its new original programming available for free for anyone to watch. With the change, YouTube is moving toward more mainstream celebrity-driven and creator-based reality fare, while it will continue to greenlight scripted productions.
Until now, YouTube Originals have mainly been available on its YouTube Premium subscription service, although YouTube also has expanded the shows and movies it makes available on an ad-supported basis.
“As we look to 2019, we will continue to invest in scripted programming and shift to make our YouTube Originals ad supported to meet the growing demand of a more global fanbase,” a YouTube rep said in a statement. “This next phase...

While YouTube doesn’t fully break out viewership for its Premium shows, it does typically provide a viewcount for pilot episodes. And one of the service’s biggest hits to date, Cobra Kai, has just zoomed past an impressive milestone.

In a pre-taped segment, Kind explored VidCon, an annual gathering of YouTube stars and social media influencers. His report got off to a rousing, age-appropriate start as he scolded a group of kids for playing in a germ-infested ball pit. In an emotional new video, YouTuber and New York Times bestselling author Joey Graceffa tells fans that serious health issues are forcing him to cancel his upcoming Eden Tour. Joey Graceffa is hitting the road to herald the release of the third novel in his Children Of Eden trilogy. But unlike a standard book tour, featuring staid Q&As and signings, Graceffa is taking a more fanciful approach by bringing the world of his dystopian trilogy to life onstage.
A website for The Eden Tour, which is being produced by UTA, describes it as “the biggest and most unforgettable live production [Joey has] ever created,” in which venues will be transformed into interactive scenes complete with themed games, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, surprise characters, fan participation, photo opps, exclusive Crystal Wolf merch, and more. Throughout the 22-city show, Graceffa will be joined by his longtime boyfriend and “creative counterpart” Daniel Preda.
“There could be more surprises coming. I’m still deciding if maybe I want to perform,” Graceffa said in an announcement video (below), in which he also showed off his new...

Joey Graceffa's campy murder-mystery serial has made its return to YouTube Premium. Graceffa is the creator and star of Escape The Night, which just launched its third season.
The new episodes of Graceffa's show place him in a small town during the 1970s, where he and his cohorts must solve a classic whodunit caper. The ensemble cast will be dressed to the nines in period-appropriate garb; featured players will include Graceffa, Matthew Patrick, Rosanna Pansino, Jc Caylen, Colleen Ballinger, Teala Dunn, Manny Mua, Safiya Nygaard, Guava Juice, and Nikita Dragun.
If you've caught our previous coverage of YouTube Premium shows, you know the deal by now: The first episode of Escape The Night season three is free, but accessing the others requires a $11.99-per-month YouTube Premium subscription. Two of the new episodes are available right now, with ten more slated to launch across the next ten Wednesdays. They will...

For the third time in as many years, a gaggle of top YouTube stars will have to Escape The Night. A trailer has arrived for the third season of Joey Graceffa's murder-mystery-comedy-period piece, which this time will be set among the jaunty ascots and polyester fabrics of the 70s.
The first season of Escape The Night, which premiered in 2016 and ultimately snagged a Streamy Award for its ensemble cast, took place during the Jazz Age. For season two, Graceffa and co traded that environment for a more Victorian vibe. Now, in season three, which was announced in late May, the setting is the 70s. The cast, revealed on May 31, will have to solve a whodunit caper in a small town. Featured players will include Graceffa, Matthew Patrick, Rosanna Pansino, Jc Caylen, Colleen Ballinger, Teala Dunn, Manny Mua, Safiya Nygaard, Guava Juice, and Nikita Dragun, all of whom have millions...
