"I think this is a cover-up." Gravitas Ventures + Kamikaze Dogfight have revealed the official trailer for an indie psychological thriller film titled Dashcam, the feature directorial debut of a producer / filmmaker named Christian Nilsson. Not to be confused with the new found footage horror feature also titled Dashcam from filmmaker Rob Savage, which recently premiered at TIFF. Two different films. Inspired by Antonioni's Blow-Up, Brian De Palma’s Blow Out, and Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation, this film is about a small time video editor at a local news channel who is inadvertently given dashcam footage from a routine stop that results in multiple deaths. But everything is not as it seems. Is there a conspiracy or is something else going on? This stars Eric Tabach, with Zachary Booth, Scott Aiello, Noa Fisher, and Giullian Yao Gioiello. Doesn't look like there is anything to see here, just playing on the usual thrills of conspiracy.

To my knowledge, despite numerous films based on the story of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, their hadn’t been many about Shelley’s own life. But in 2017 came the film Mary Shelley, in which Elle Fanning played the author, and now in 2021 A Nightmare Wakes comes to Shudder. This movie covers the true story of the part of her life where she had an affair with a married man and fell pregnant with his child, all while trying to write the famous novel Frankenstein.
It’s no surprise at all that A Nightmare Wakes is a gothic period drama that occasionally leans towards the horror side of things. This isn’t full of gore or jump scares, there’s more an underlying sense of unease which comes...

The actor, who’s also known for his turn in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, shared a post on Instagram yesterday (June 6th) featuring a video taken at a recent Blm protest in New Orleans, along with photos of himself with fellow actor and partner Nicholas Ashe, who Smith describes as his “guiding light.”
In his caption, Smith wrote an impassioned essay about how the Black Lives Matter movement should make sure to include “Black Queer voices” and “black trans people.”
“We chanted ‘Black Trans Lives Matter’ ‘Black Queer Lives Matter’ ‘All Black Lives Matter’. As a black queer man myself, I was disappointed to see certain people eager to say Black Lives Matter, but hold their tongue when Trans/Queer was added,” the actor wrote. “I want to...

It's been a long road getting VH1's Scream: Resurrection to the screen, but it's well worth the wait.
For the first time since the series began, Scream delivers exactly what the audience wants -- a four and a half hour (not counting commercials) horror movie playing out over three nights.
Gone is the soapy, melodramatic aspect that unsuccessfully tried to throw viewers off the scent of the killer, and it is a fast-paced, well-written horror when every life is on the line.
Scream was a terrific movie franchise that stood the test of time.
After all, it's not the unsuccessful movie franchise that gets a TV series that moves through three seasons.
The first two seasons of MTV's Scream were a bit of a mess.
The complicated story took precidence over the thrills and kills, and that's never a good sign for true horror fans.

Having already received a variety of trailers and clips pertaining to Scream: Resurrection, one could say we’ve been due for a photo gallery. I mean, promotional stills were bound to surface at some point, but it’s not crazy to think diehard fans of the enduring slasher franchise were starting to get antsy.
Now that we have less than a week to go until the bloodbath begins, VH1 have let loose the visual evidence. That’s right, it’s important that none of you forget how the series has a new home, as the party has moved from MTV to VH1. In my view, it’s actually befitting of the situation, as the aptly titled Resurrection appears to be closer in tone to Wes Craven’s flicks and abandons the storyline established by the first two seasons; new ballgame, new network.

Though the Scream franchise hasn’t had as rough of a time as, say, Friday the 13th in recent memory, the current decade hasn’t exactly been all peaches and cream for it. For starters, 2011’s attempted revival of the film series didn’t prove as successful as the studio had hoped, with fans of the MTV show being dealt a gut punch when that separate storyline had been abandoned after only two seasons.
Instead, our next dose of teen slasher fun will come by way of Scream: Resurrection, a three-night prime time event set to air on VH1 beginning next week. As much as I enjoyed the aforementioned MTV series, I must admit the first trailer for the re-reboot probably pleased more purists out there – most likely because we were treated to the return of the classic Ghostface mask, as opposed to the Brandon James headgear.

The third season of the slasher TV series Scream is trying to tie itself as close as it can to the original franchise. Aside from the shared name, the show has already made several moves that pay homage to the source material. Roger L. Jackson, who voiced Ghostface in the movies, has been brought back to reprise his role. Additionally, the original mask worn by all of the killers throughout the films is also being resurrected for the first time since the series’ inception.
When the project was first being developed by MTV, showrunners Jill Blotevogel and Jamie Paglia said that they wanted to tell their own story using only the basic building blocks of the flicks that came before. They did this by retiring the iconic mask and instead developed a new disguise for their slashers.

Say what you want about MTV’s television reboot of the Scream franchise, but it made for one hell of a ride, often getting darker and more disturbing than the Wes Craven films ever did. But even after turning in an incredible second season, declining ratings became impossible to overlook, though we could at least find some consolation in the fact that it’d been renewed for a third season to consist of six episodes. Needless to say, that’d provide ample time to wrap up some notably huge dangling threads.
Or so we thought.
In a bizarre turn of events, the network opted to completely scrap two years’ worth of storytelling, handily pissing off the entire fanbase. As it so happens, they’re now moving forward with a re-reboot helmed by new showrunners that also features an entirely new cast, which boasts Mary J. Blige, Keke Palmer, Rj Cyler,...

It's about time, Scream Fanatics!
The long-delayed third season of Scream Season 3 has a premiere date!
But it won't be returning to MTV. Instead, it will air across three nights on VH1 under the title "Scream: Resurrection."
The six-part season will be stripped across three nights.
As previously reported, this is a reboot, meaning there will be no connection to the 2015-16 TV series.
Related: Scream Renewed for Season 3
That even extends to the Ghostface mask. If you watch Scream online, you know the first two seasons had a mask different from the one used in the movie series.
That will change with Scream Season 3, with the killer donning the same mask from the movies.
What's more, the killer will also be voiced by Roger Jackson.
The TV show mask was always slated because fans wanted the show to be more similar to the movies, and that's not a big thing to ask.

Variety has confirmed that the series will air on VH1 instead of MTV as originally planned. “Scream” will debut on VH1 on July 8 and air two one-hour episodes back-to-back for three straight nights.
The third season of the series based on the horror movie franchise of the same name was first announced in 2016. Since then, both VH1 and MTV have largely moved away from scripted programming.
This marks the latest instance of Viacom shuffling properties around its cable portfolio. Most recently it was announced that Tracy Oliver’s “First Wives Club” series would find its fourth home on the upcoming streaming service Bet+ after having previously been set up at TV Land, Paramount Network, and Bet.

Though filming on the third season of Scream reportedly wrapped last year, 2018 has almost been one long period of radio silence on this planned reboot of the slasher series. Fortunately, new reports indicate that this season is slowly edging its way towards the light of day.
To give a little context on the insanely long wait, Scream was previously scheduled to return last March, but when The Weinstein Company filed for bankruptcy as a result of last year’s widely publicized sexual assault scandal, the show was left in limbo. New reports, however, indicate that Lantern Capital had acquired the rights to Scream, along with other TWC assets. And since Lantern and Netflix have settled their dispute over distribution rights, that means Lantern is free to pitch the show to other networks and platforms.
At this rate, it may not be until next year that the show finally returns to screens,...

Though the wait has been perplexingly long for the third season of Scream, we can at least offer something to look forward to when the slasher series does make its long-delayed return.
Bloody Disgusting reports that this next set of episodes will feature renowned horror actor Tony Todd. The performer has accumulated some noteworthy credentials in the genre over the years, including major roles in the Final Destination movies and the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, but the star is probably best remembered as the titular killer of the Candyman films. Earlier today, the actor took to Instagram with a photo of himself alongside another season 3 addition, the rapper Tyga.

As it so happens, they’re now moving forward with a re-reboot helmed by new showrunners that also features an entirely new cast, which boasts Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), Rj Cyler (I...

Fans of the Lakewood Six received the surprising news back in April that MTV would be rebooting their Scream TV series for its third season, introducing a new cast of characters and creative team behind the scenes. The big changes for the series continue to take shape, as Tyler Posey from Teen Wolf has now joined the cast.
The news of Posey's casting comes from THR, who reveal that the Teen Wolf star will play Shane, "a high school dropout... drug dealer and party promoter who is always hustling in order to make money. But beneath that exterior, there's more to Shane than anyone realizes." After six seasons, the final episode of Teen Wolf just aired on MTV.
Posey joins a cast for the rebooted third season that includes Keke Palmer, Rj Cyler, Jessica Sula, Giorgia Whigham, Giullian Yao Gioiello, Tyga, and C.J. Wallace.

Scream Season 3 is finally arriving... except as an event series on VH1, rather than former home MTV.
Scream Season 3 if actually going to make air!
Fans of the TV series adaptation for the meta-minded bellwether horror movie franchise have waited nearly three years since the second season on MTV capped off its summer 2016 run with an October-airing Halloween special that year. However, after a leadership shakeup at MTV, subsequent plans called for the show going the reboot route for Season 3; a rarity for non-anthology shows.
Unfortunately, upon completion, the third season of Scream languished in TV series purgatory, leaving the series as an unaired anachronism from an already-bygone era of Teen Wolf – and MTV’s overall experiment with scripted television – before the channel retreated to its reality show safety blanket by rebooting The Hills and whatnot. However, plans to finally broadcast Scream Season 3 are now confirmed. Repacked as Scream: Resurrection,...

With a title like Catfight and the only available image showing a bloodied and battered chokehold between Anne Heche and Sandra Oh, our expectations are forced into conjuring hope for a wild, frenzied ride. Well, writer/director Onur Tukel doesn’t disappoint with this broad satire of American politics and wealth disparity. It only takes Craig Bierko’s rendition of a late night television host doing his smarmy best to poke fun at our broken system before introducing a fat, shirtless man as the “fart machine” to understand the tongue-in-cheek tone targeted. The working class as represented by maid Donna (Myra Lucretia Taylor) laughs hysterically at the flatulence while aristocratic housewife lush (and her employer) Veronica (Oh) remains unfazed in more Botox ambivalence than high-brow disgust.
Veronica just cannot understand such humor’s appeal. She can’t comprehend the appeal of anything that doesn’t result in making money. She...
