With a diverse background in the film industry, David has worked with The Valley Film Festival, DTLA Film Festival, Laemmle Theaters, the American Cinematheque, Cinelounge on Sunset, TCL Chinese Theatre, the Los Angeles Mayors Citywide Taskforce on Film and Television, and the Denver Film Festival.
Some of David's career highlights include co-producing The Valley Film Festival (VFF17, VFF18), securing the backend sponsor for the DTLA Film Festival (DTLA 2016, 2017), working as staff at Laemmle Theatres during the Israel Film Festival, Los Angeles International Shorts Film Festival, and Polish Film Festival (among others), managing the Los Angeles theatrical opening of Nicolas Cage comeback movie Mandy (2018) at Cinelounge, and working on the American Cinematheque's 60th Anniversary Screening of Vertigo (1958) with Kim Novak. He has also been part of the staff during world premieres at the TCL (Mann's/Grauman's) Chinese Theatre, including Joker (2019) Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019), Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019) and Gemini Man (2019) From 2017 - 2019, David was member of the Los Angeles Mayor's Office Citywide Taskforce on Film and Television.
From 2017- 2018, David also Co-Produced the Valley Film Festival's Focus On Panel Series, including the live streamed event Focus On: Meet the Programmers (2018) facilitating audience dialogue between filmmakers and festival programmers from Dances With Films, DTLA Film Festival, Hollywood Shorts, the LA Film Festival, South East European Film Festival, Outfest, New Filmmakers LA, the Asian Pacific Film Festival in partnership with Columbia College Hollywood and the New York Film Academy. The Focus On Series also included a special screening 'New Films from Iran.'
Most recently David has worked with the Denver Film Festival as a Box Officer, Submissions Screener and Theater Manager.
A firm believer that "music helps the eye see clearer," David has a special appreciation for movie soundtracks, particularly Ludovico Einaudi Doctor Zhivago (2002), William Olvis theme from 'Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993)' (1993), and James Horner Titanic (1997). He also enjoys classical instrumental covers of popular songs in movies and television. One recent example that caught his attention is Netflix's Bridgerton (2020) with its violin and cello cover of 'Material Girl' by Kris Bowers. His favorite band is the fictitious 'Natalie is Freezing,' created by Lisa Loeb for the TV show Community (2009), and their single 'Pillar of Garbage.'
Steven Spielberg remains David's favorite movie director and he appreciates Spielberg's sentimental movie style. Tom Cruise is still his favorite actor of all time, followed by Harrison Ford. David also has an appreciation for South African actress Alice Krige, and deeply admires French-Actress Isabelle Huppert due to her dynamic performances relentless dedication to the art-form as seen in Elle (2016), Things to Come (2016), Louder Than Bombs (2015), Greta (2018), and Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022)- IMDb Mini Biography By: David Krouse
